It makes sense that way. Why would there be NCR killing Fiends in Goodsprings?
There's a mod for Fallout 3 called http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout3/mods/9192/? that makes for absolutely insane battles all over the interior regions of the Capital Wasteland. You can walk along side a patrol and get into 4 and even *5* sided battles in a few locations. Check out the https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a7b0mjp1wRA promotional video sometime for a taste of what I regularly experienced with that mod active in my games, tons of fun.
If such a mod isn't created for FO4, I might look into creating one as such a mod should be even more intense and enjoyable in the new game environments and with the new graphics.
Goodsprings was only attacked by geckos as a one-time quest thing, and Powder Gangers as a one-time quest. And the only defense Goodsprings has is varmint rifles. Other than that, it's a completely safe place for the rest of the game.
Yeah. I never suggested anything else went on there...
I would love seeing this more in fallout 4 not only would it make the world feel more alive and dynamic, it would make for some easy loot having other groups go at it while you pick up the spoils without a scratch. I did that all the time with raiders and caravans in the old games.
I've actually had cazadores from the north come in and kill me one time when I was next to the gas station with ringo though I'm pretty sure it was a glitch considering it's only happened that one time.
well in the trailer for FO4 the siege sentry bot is fighting a group of raiders and doesn't turn to kill the player till all the raiders are dead so maybe we will see fights?
As the poll suggests there is literally nobody that would want supposedly mortal enemies to prioritize attacking you over each other, much less just sitting in their rooms and twiddling their thumbs.
Which is good. Makes things seem more alive. It'd be nice if we could come across some sort of battle fields as well and possibly scavenge some stuff off of them, too.
sometimes it makes sense though ,a guy running around in power armor with a flamer toasting everything he sees would (to me) seem like something they should take care of first (not that it will save them.)
"whoa nelly! combat inhibitor disengaged ,guns hot ,firing for effect ,Welcome to Hell you zombie freaks !!!"
Well sure, if you attack them. however they shouldn't bother you if you're just standing there with your thumb up your ass.
I loved that Talon Company assault against the Super Mutants. Always used a stealth boy to watch the action.
WOW! %100 after 70 votes?!?
I know it's not even a small fraction of the people who will buy and play fallout 4 but it's still interesting.
I would love to walk on a group of bandits attacking my caravan, have a BOS patrol pass by and jump the bandits, only to have the enclave swoop by with a vertibird and join in.
I want there to be areas where you'll only see one faction, but I want the borders of these territories to be in flux, even the camps or small...."forts" on these borders need to experience battles that can result in changes of ownership.
i feel like it would make for a more realistic experience.
I mean I can think of literally no reason to want otherwise.
my guess would be that someone might not want random encounters because they don't want to be ambushed without warning. Either that, or they wouldn't want multiple enemy factions attacking at the same time.
The 3-way battle would be interesting, especially if it takes place in urban area, and one of the parties have strategic advantage because they are on higher ground e.g. building
I don't want nonsensical random encounters. Some enemies should only spawn in certain areas IMO.
Well in that case there's always the "run the hell away" option.
This should be a no-brainer IMO. It makes the game feel alive and "real." Would love to see this expanded on. Especially with all the dynamic stuff Howard keeps talking about. So less scripted spawns, and more natural patrol routes perhaps? Possibilities would be endless.
I'm hoping the faction system will be even deeper than previous installments. It would be nice to see raider groups tied to different 'gangs' so you might discover them fighting each other on occasion because they belong to slightly different factions.
In Skyrim I once saw an 4 way fight, was in an small town near the huge bridge to the west, an dragon was flying around and hit the town before flying off, i joined soome imperial soldiers in the hunt, we run into some vampires and started fighting, dragon came back doing general air support, most focused on the dragon until it was dead then continued to fight each other, some stormcloaks came and hit the vampires from the other side. Then the vampires was dead the imperial and stormcloaks continued to fight each other, it looked like the stormcloaks had been hit by something earlier, might well be the same dragon and that they was hunting it.
Depends on how it is implemented, if the winning side would not mind you to loot the bodies i am against it, some people will simple grind for these random encounters to pick up and sell the spoils of battle.
If they will mind or they are gonna loot the bodies themselves and do not let you pick up the loot, i am okay with at.
And if they spotted you you will loose reputation points with their faction for not helping them, for example.
Well if they're all dead, you shouldn't lose rep points because there's no one alive to tell the others what you did.
so a modified version of the crime system in Skyrim (before all the patches gave us omnipotent guards back) kill them fast enough and no one knows.
