A way to redesign characters on 360?

Okay, so I suffer from 'restartitis' and today, while I was in the throes of my condition, I decided to recreate a Dunmer character to be more stealthy and less mage-y. I loaded the first save the game creates (right before the tutorial sequence) and created my character exactly the same, but with one exception!

I used the same preset, didn't tweak anything.
I used the same name, same spelling.
The only difference I made was the inclusion of some Dunmer tribal tattoos on the face and a change of facial hair.

I accepted the character and began to watch the execution scene for the umpteenth time when I decided that what I was doing was ridiculous and that I could just stop being a mage on the Dunmer I had already created.

I loaded up the save began doing my thing. I went to check out his face while standing around listening to some NPCs pvssyr when I noticed that his facial hair was different. I zoomed the camera in and what would you know? HE HAD THE FREAKING TRIBAL TATTOOS I USED FOR THE NEW GUY. He didn't have any tattoos before that moment.

I tried to do it with another of my characters, but I don't think I used the same preset I used the first time because it didn't work -- I couldn't remember which preset I used. I'm sure this is some kind of bug having to do with saves, but it might also be the key for console users to recreate the aesthetics of their characters mid-game.

I know, "cool story, bro", but someone else should try it and report the results!

Super extremely freaking amazing story, bro. Thank you so much for this. Now I don't have to throw away 45 hours of playtime.

The changes only last until you reload your save, in my experience.

Even if you save with the changes? That stinks..

I know, it was a moment of weakness. I usually get after people who bump threads, but I was afraid it was going to get lost in the sea of "this gaem suxz" threads. Never again. :turtle:

Don't even listen to that guy. As long as this board is filled with "I HA3T D1S GA3M I W4NT M4H M0mS M0n33 b4AKK" threads, feel free to bump your thread when it reaches the second page. Why should a legitimate thread get lost behind irrelevant, overused topics?
