Hey guys, my most recent character is a Minuteman-ish fella who really hates ghouls and synths and as such he'd refuse to save or work with Valentine. Is there really no way to find my son without having to work with Valentine?

Unless you're on PC and can use console commands to skip quest stages, I don't think so.

Saving Valentine shouldn't be a problem from an RP perspective. The SS doesn't realise Nick's a synth until he's let out. As for working with him, maybe play it as a reluctant partnership for the sake of finding your son? Only work with him as much as necessary. Refuse to his company when he offers to come with you. Use rude dialogue options to keep in synth-hating character.

Nick is simply another type of robot, unlike some gen-3s he isn't even trying to pretend he is human.

I personally (even with an anti-synth character) had no trouble working with him.

An anti Ghoul and Synth MM which isn't surprising given that the general population generally hold the same views (when was the last time you saw a Ghoul MM) should be able to work with robots, after all its the fact that Gen-3 Synths are being infiltrated into human communities that is causing the hate towards Synths.
