Wayne newton

Oh god i never thought i would ever yearn for Three Dog but omg...

Wayne Newton as a DJ despite being a legendary Vegas entertainer his delivery in new Vegas is so deadpan, lifeless, monotone, straightest delivery i have ever heard. Seriously at least Three Dog had energy and was a DJ in the style of Wolfman jack and was for the most part entertaining.

Wayne... you love talking about love... we get it... ZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzz

Lol. Exactly. Three Dog was a [censored], but at least he was entertaining. The music and the DJ's svck in NV. Dunno what's worse, the bugs/glitches or the lame radio....

It's not so much Wayne Newton as it is the repeated lines. Blame the devs on that one.

it was bad writing but still he could have done something with it not just literally sounded like he was reading a script.

It reminds me of when they used Axl Rose for K-DST on San Andreas.

Don't blame Wayne Newton, while it does sound like he's reading from a script, i think he's putting in some character, especially when he's charming his (assumed) female listeners.

I think it's pretty awesome that you have an aged celebrity lending his voice to a video game. I'd be disappointed to find out he had money trouble or something, as opposed to being open to giving his voice to a video game.

id like to think he did it because he's one of the people that really has become synonymous with Las Vegas. but still hes got to be able to pull off a better performance then this

Have people actually heard Wayne Newton speak before? That's what he sounds like. That's his personality. That's all part of the 50's Vegas charm. The performers always kept their cool and never got overly emotional. Where do you think their reputation of "coolness" came from? The Rat Pack wasn't considered cool because they overreacted to everything. They were considered cool because they were nonchalant and suave.

if you watch the making of FNV dvd it states he did it for las vegas because he lives there and in reality he is known as Mr.(Las) Vegas. If you have ever seen Mars Attacks you have seen Wayne Newton do the same thing as FNV. So dont worry hes doing it for Fallout and for the fans. Personally i like him as the host i just dont know why all the hosts in the game are 5 times louder than the music they play.

He has had money trouble, but he's not above spoofing even himself (National Lampoon's Vegas Vacation). Got to see him at the old Stardust before they imploded it to put in a vacant lot.

For those who aren't 'Wayniacs', would you have preferred Celine Dion?

not to disrespect an American icon, but god yeah, he drones on and on in that slllowwww droney voice... I'd rather Victor the robot was the DJ or something, at least there is a bit of "life" in his voice. Come back Three Dawg, all is forgiven.

(maybe they should have used Matthew Perry as Mr New Vegas and Mr Newton as Benny. Cos Matthew aint no fink, dig? I could dig a station full of non-finkness and ole Blue eyes, dig, but I don't like the one we have at present)

He's Mr Vegas. Period. It may be slightly whiny and droning, but its instantly recognizable as MR VEGAS. Repetitive Wayne Newton is a better DJ for FO:NV then any DJ that ever lived at the top of their game.

EDIT: Unless they could get Elvis or Sinatra.

I personaly like the way he sounds... He sounds Classy. However i wish they gave him more lines to say... Like more news in the game like 3 dog did... All you ever hear from Mr Vegas is the same thing over and over

Wayne kinda annoys me. On top of that i feel like i listened to all those songs in Fallout 3. I kinda like Tabitha's station a little more though, the old country songs are kinda fun for some reason. I like playing my own music when exploring though. Epic post-rock and orchestrated music FTW.

I'm glad Wayne had the opportunity to do this but I've never really been a fan of Wayne. All I can say is when I've gone to Vegas, I never even thought about going to one of his shows. There was always someone more um, ahh, exciting to watch.

I am a big fan of Three Dog however and was a great fan of Wolfman Jack who Three Dog reminded me of. It was a bit nostalgic for me personally. Everyone loved him. I was pretty sad when Three Dog was bashed to hell and back here. :(

Anyway I do respect Wayne for his many years as a Vegas entertainer.

I guess it depends on your background really. If you've grown up with Vegas and Wayne Newton, then you couldn't imagine one without the other. For the rest of the world, though, he's just an old guy we've never heard of droning on in the background....

I think it fits, and I didn't really like 3 Dog much to begin with. Also, now that the radio doesn't play the same songs over and over (update) I can say that I enjoy the music in this game more than Fallout 3's.

Haven't listened to Mr Vegas so much, listened to one radio station once but turned it off because I wanted to focus on other sounds.
But the three dogs was imo awful.
I mean, every single part of the three dogs was just plain awful.
When I first turned on the Radio in FO3 I was like "Okay, he's slightly annoying" and after an hour of playing I rushed towards any radio that was on to turn it off just so I wouldn't have to hear his [censored] voice.
My position in hell would be to be forced to listen to that filthy ass for eternity.
So even if Mr Vegas is boring it's still better than annoying.
