Ways to keep Fallout 3 Interesting?

Post » Thu May 03, 2012 1:37 pm

I was wondering lately if anyone had good ideas/suggestions on how to keep Fallout 3 interesting. I'm starting a new playthrough and need someway to make it different. (Btw I'm on X-box or else I wouldn't be asking this).

And the main reason I'm doing this is because my friend just got the game today and he wanted to me to play it with him to see who could get to level 30 the fastest.

Since you're on console you could look through the http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1176044-fallout-3-hardcoe/ thread.

One of these choices:

*The both of you should have a dead is dead competition. Once you die the game is over.
*There was another person who said he bought FO3 so that he can play it while getting high.
*Dead is dead + no killing women.
*Play with Intelligence set to 1.
*Play the game with your feet.
*Put tape over the compass to hide it.
*Invest all points in sneak and try to kill an entire town by pickpocketing explosives into their inventory.
*1 save allowed per 30 minutes. Live with your choices. No reloading unless you die.

Another way is to set Hud Opacity to really low so its invisible.

Yes, but I need the health meter because I will be playing FWE soon, as in one hour from now. I think there might be an .ini tweak to hide the compass.

Also, to add to my list:

*Anyone who insults you must die no matter what. It doesn't have to happen immediately, but it must happen unless they are permanently essential.
*Play with luck at 10 but endurance at 1. You may enhance endurance with gear, chems, or bobbleheads.

*don't carry more than one weapon and one set of ammo

*wear only one set of armor

*limit your belongings to only things you need at the moment.

*don't fast travel

I second this. Also, about the compass, I cannot look at the large map, unless I am indoors and safe. Local map only when you are out and about. You cannot get rid of the compass, but losing the map makes life difficult.

T-51b winterized power armor is only allowed.

You can check the health stats in the pip-boy, but I prefer to see it on screen. Just make it a bit invisible.

I wouldn't go for that. The winterized version is overpowered anyway (if I remember correctly, it has a glitch where it essentially has unlimited condition).

There is a thing I'm trying right now and it's just using the armoured vault 101 jumpsuit and only a certain set of weapons It might not work for you but it is fun and I try to make Fallout 3 as fun as it can be.

Lol, I really like a few of these ideas, I'm currently playing my character as D.I.D. And I might try playing with no HUD, did it on Skyrim and it was challenging to say the least.

Eh not really, it's pretty dull, I'm still baffled about how people can get 1000 hours out of that game, there isn't even that much content in it.

You could not buy anything whatsoever and only use what you find, so once a gun breaks or you run out of ammo, you may consider throwing it out. And pretend it is realistic so you can just throw tons of guns over your shoulders.

It also has a glitch wiht You Gotta Shoot Them In The Head.

I only wore the winterized power because of the unlimited condition, but stil had to get strength to 10.

That's how I've been playing, no need to buy weapons.

Then explain why I'm still playing it a month later?

Well, if you played the originals or could see why fo3 makes no sense, you'd like nv better.

People like fo3 more than nv because it feels more like a "wasteland?"

Not all wastelands look like someone nukes it yesterday, and especially not after 200 years.

D.C. Should be a crater in the mall area. Instead, huge buildings are left unstractched just over the road from the totally destroyed white house. Fo3 is the black sheep.

And yet managed to get a score of 94 an new Vegas an 84 because the "gamers" who judges it are stupid cod fans who wouldn't know a good rpg if it hit them right in the face.

It's [censored] bullcrap.

Well as people have said fallout 3 is a great game just not a great fallout game due to being different developes and almost rebooting the series you need to remember this especially if your the type of person who goes on metacritic but I don't go on it as I can form my own opinion on a game...

The developers said that the entire Capital Wasteland should be a crater but that would not be a fun gamer to play so they made the capital wasteland an interesting desert wasteland.
