Weapon and armor supply line: Please help

Post » Sun Jan 17, 2016 11:05 pm

I know I can share 'junk' between settlements in build mode but if I store a certain weapon at the Sanctuary Hills weapons bench, why can't I retrieve it at, say, the Castle?

This is annoying me as I need a reliable method of retrieving weapons - without having to remember where I stashed them then trailing over to get it.

(I usually figure these things out for myself but I'm working long hours at the moment and haven't the time. Any help will be appreciated)

I put weapons in a box. I'm not sure I want the workbench to have them. Junk is what I put in it, for mats.

I keep legendary stuff in a box, and excess/unmatched power armor parts in a different one. Otherwise, I just carry the guns I need/want to use.

Just store all of your loot in the workbench at one location.

I keep all of my legendary guns and legendary armor, the clothing and armor that I swap between, and guns that I swap between in steamer trunks at Home Plate. It's fairly centrally located so it typically doesn't take long to get there. I keep them somewhat separated to keep it organized.

I've got trunks assigned to the following categories

-Legendary weapons

-Legendary armor

-Clothing/outfits that I swap between (Kellogg's Outfit, Silver Shroud, Reginald's Suit, and many others)

-Armor that I swap between, which is mostly fully modded suits of Combat Armor, Sturdy Combat Armor, and Heavy Combat Armor for the most part, along with all of my legendary pieces of Combat Armor. I also keep my under-armor outfits in here (Vault Suit and black BOS Officer Uniform)

-Weapons that I swap between (including the legendary guns that I actually use)

-Companion gear, since I like to change my companions outfits sometimes. In this one I have some more Vault Suits and BOS Officer uniforms, as well as fully modded suits of combat armor for my companions

I've found that keeping this organizational system makes it a lot easier to quickly find exactly what I'm looking for. I have hundreds of guns stored in my workshop at Sanctuary, and if I were to take the time to actually scroll through it looking for a specific thing it would take some time. As it is, it takes a solid minute to scroll to the bottom of the list.

To actually answer the OP's question, no, weapons aren't shared. Only Junk, raw materials and produce.

Weapons stay where they are put. Several good suggestions ITT as to how to manage them.

I operate out of one base and leave everything there in the Workshop. Guns I name and add a "-" prefix so all my weapons sit at the top of the list. Much easier than running between crates every time I come home or remembering what's where.

Thanks everyone. Well, I don't see why the developers don't allow weapons to be moved along a supply line, along with junk. Looks like I'll just have to improvise on this one.
