Weapon and Armor Wear-and-Tear

Something i'd like to see in the game and havent seen mentioned yet.

Would be a nice touch to see chips on a sword, dents in shields and armor, and some unraveling and fraying sting on bows as their condition degrades. And it would help remind me too keep an eye on that condition bar

I kinda like this idea, but I kinda don't. it would be cool to have steel armor but have it look ragged for rp purposes, but it could also be bad if you want to look shiney and heroic but you either don't have armorer skill enough to fix it or that you have to fix it too often to keep it looking good.

I like the idea....

Whats more heroic then emerging victorious from a dragons den in battered and scratched up plate-mail having only narrowly ripped victory from the clutches of certain death!

A paladin may look glorious and shiny in a parade but not after going 15 rounds against the denizens of evil.

I love this idea, but it should be simple enough to realistically implement for modders, it'd also take a ton off work off Beth if they made the wear-and-tear as parallax-mapped decals, maybe a deep gash along the blade, or just simply a bunch of scratches here and there etc.

To take actual chips out of the sword they'd have to make a new model for each state of deterioration of every weapon, also the dent would always be in the exact same place, with decals it could be more randomized. Also it's more realistic, since if you're going to hit something with a sword that has a noticeable chip taken out of it that sword's gonna get cut in half.

This was created yesterday. http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1175525-visible-item-deterioration/page__view__findpost__p__17366107__fromsearch__1

Most car games have damage systems (dirt+dents+scratches), and decals have been confirmed (whether they are just blood or dirt however is unknown).
