Weapon Armor Smithing Capped?

Post » Thu Dec 01, 2016 12:44 am

Hi.

Simple question ... Are the improvements capped for weapons and armor?

I have a glass mace which I made using the forge and for improving it I used enchanted items which gave fortify smithing values of:

22% + 22% + 20% + 15% = 79%

I also used a fortify smithing potion of:

107% for 30 seconds

Total = 186% (for 30 seconds)

The mace came out with a value of 90 damage which doesn't seem to add up? I also tried it with just the 79% and it came out at 55 damage.

Anyone know where I can find the formula for weapon improving or could someone explain it for me?

None to sure if it makes a difference but I am playing on an Xbox 360 Legend version.

Thanks

May seem like a stupid question, but did you take any smithing perks?

Yes I have got smithing perks, my bad, I forgot to mention that I had smithing at level 100 when the glass mace was forged, all the perks from steel upwards on the light armor side (left of the path) to dragon, including advanced armors.

How smithing improves items:

You'll find the formulae there.
