weapon mod scale

Post » Sat Jan 16, 2016 3:54 pm

so i am cycling thru the different mods at a bench. i am a bit confused as to what scale is being used to determine a weapons dmg, for instance.

here is what i see.

i have a heavy assault rifle. now i look at the different mods for the receiver, for instance. i see a "powerful calibrated receiver". it does superior dmg, and better critical shot dmg and accuracy. now if i scroll down further, i see i can make a "powerful automatic receiver" with improved dmg and rate of fire, inferior range.

now, the "improved dmg" is this improved over the superior dmg found in the "P.C.R" or are they using a scale here? like least, reduced, standard, better, improved, exceptional, superior.

i see the stats on the left, but it is not helping me for some reason, still doubting thomas here.

Yeah it is a tier list which I believe it compares to the standard mod, powerful automatic receiver has improved damage, rate of fire but inferior range compared to the base receiver.

The description of each mod is a comparison to the 'standard' mod that comes on the vanilla gun.

Not to hijack your thread, but I have a similar question. Which stock offers the best recoil control in the game? The marksman's stock says superior recoil control. The recoil compensating stock says exceptional recoil control, but is on the bottom of the list, indicating that it is the 'best'/will be the most sought after...but I'd figure 'superior' would be...well, the best obviously. And the stats on the left side of the screen for the weapon don't change between the two.

i think shaqtus has it correct. even though a mod is at the bottom of a list, does not mean it does the maximum of everything, or is the most sought after. it makes sense if each category is compared to the standard.

using my example from above, even though the P.A.R is at the bottom of the receiver mod list, it only does "improved" dmg compared to the standard, while the P.C.R does "superior" dmg compared to the standard.

so, if i wanrt better dmg, i take the PCR, if i want a better rate of fire, i go with the PAR and sacrafice some dmg.

all is right in the world.
