You don't find mods. The only way to get them is buy them.

And they are pretty rare anyway. I really like them - it makes my non-unique weapons feel unique. Instead of having to kill NPCs and take their special guns, I make my own guns with their own stories. Too bad you can't name em. Wait, I'm on PC. WHERE THERE IS A WILL THERE IS A WAY

I'm on the Xbox 360 version so whenever I want a weapon mod I usually just hex edit my gamesave on the PC to turn things like White Plates into things like 9mm Extended Mags or Sniper Rifle Carbon Fiber parts.

If you have the strat guide there is a list of vendors in there that sell mods. If not I know the gun runners and Chet in Goodsprings sells mods. I think there is a Gun Runner Below the bridge at 188 Trade Post who also sells mods. If you can't find the one you want wait three days and come back. Their inventories rotate every three days. Oh and I think Ralph and Mike's sells mods in Freeside just outside New Vegas.

I'm still looking for some goodness for my Sniper Rifle. It's tough enough just finding another Sniper Rifle to do repairs (I got the Perk that says as long as something is SIMILAR, you can use it to repair, but I think I got ripped off, because NOTHING but the SNIPER RIFLE is similar enough to the Sniper Rifle for that repair perk)

Aside from that, I'm carrying 800 rounds, 100HP and about 250 AP (.308) She's my primary weapon of choice.

I may be way wrong about this, but it seems to me that as you level or progress in the story more mods pop up in the shops. It doesn't seem random to me. One shop keeper will have one mod and then a I will come back after a long while and there will be 2 or 3 more that are for better guns.

Service Rifle is. Probably the Assault Carbine, too.

I've only seen two mods in my entire time playing New Vegas. Both were for the 9mm pistol, and they won't even work with special 9mm pistols like Maria (Benny's gun).

Yeah I bought a scope and silencer for the varmit rifle at the beginning. I would really like to get something for the hunting rifle or repeater but I cannot find anything. All I see know is energy weapon mods.

The manual specifically states you can find weapon mods in "containers" and vendors.

I tried to buy those mods at the beginning, but the game crashed while I was in the vendor menu. And when I reloaded my save, his inventory had (oddly) changed and he didn't have those mods anymore.


(I've seen a number of mods that I don't care about, like laser beam splitter and carbon fiber gatling laser frames. Only ones that I've gotten for guns I use are the Walnut stock for the cowboy repeater and a scope for my 9mm pistol.)

where are u able to get mods for the varment rifle in the beging? and can you give me a list of mod venders and where there at becus im about the join the BOS and i want some kool guns to carry around after i get there sick ass armer,

p.s. where the [censored] is the enclav wasnt there main base in california i think frisco right? but i thought they had a hug inflewince out here i dont get it and how is cali all civilised will the east cost is still [censored] dnt make sence.

I find them often enough; the problem is they never sell ones for weapons I am actually using :/
