Weapon Preference

Post » Fri Nov 27, 2015 11:41 pm

I always preferred using plasma weapons to laser weapons in new vegas until i got the laser commando perk after which laser weapons were in general superior imo. But i still think plasma is the coolest weapon technology in fallout, aesthetically.

Energy weapons in general just really tickle my fancy, i love role playing a genius scientist type who is proficient in maintaining and using them. Also there's nothing more intimidating then a Gatling laser wielding power armor juggernaut. :chaos:

I never really liked lasers. I prefer plasma, revolvers, shotguns, snipers and lever action rifles. Generally I prefer unique weapons with a lot of power, but not too destructive since I want to do most of the shooting myself. Maybe some occasional nuke now and then

I like them all. Mainly guns, but I get into my energy weapon moods from time to time.

I'm thinking a sniper rifle, a large caliber pistol, and either a SMG or shotgun for my character in Fallout 4.

the new cryo weapons obviously.. (i guess you could call those energy weapons) but ill be favoring the cryo weapons which are basically the same idea of the weapons from mothership zeta except customizable in fallout 4.

If you can freeze people solid and break them into little pieces using melee or guns, my life will be complete

Long range rifles with scopes. Never really liked energy weapons unless my RP demanded it. Never like automatic weapons much either as they seem so wasteful on bullets, though I admit in a tight spot they are nice to have.

Who knows, maybe all guns will be dumbed down and will now have unlimited ammo so we don't have to think about it anymore.

I thought it was cuz he uses his [censored] as the scope. Don't query the logistics of that idea too much.

Explosives, with unusual or crafted weapons as backup. Everything else is loot to me.

Psssshhhhhh......once you go meltdown, you obliterate the enemy, its friends, dig up their parents and obliterate them too, your companions, and...well, yes yourself too.

Serious though, I liked energy weapons in F1/F3; I loved energy weapons in FNV. On a side note, looks like grenades (and I would guess mines) are now a separate equip so if they included all the grenade launchers from FNV (seriously, how do people not love that game), explosives makes a very strong argument.

I usually stick with the energy weapons once I get them, they seem to be most effective for my character and for the way I like to play. I never really have been a fan of unarmed or melee attacks, they seem kind of stupid, literally bringing a knife to a gun fight, or even no weapon at all, why bother? Just my opinion anyway, if others like to play unarmed or melee then good for them, I'm glad they have a way that they enjoy and that works for them

I prefer sniper rifles. I'll use shotguns if the encounter is up close especially when you have the perks from FNV. Shotguns were devastating with the shotgun perks

Guns only. I dislike energy weapons and PA. I like to go a bit more real. Always try a brotherhood play through but can rarely finish it. My first thought when I saw 4 was that they were going to go tech crazy which def turned out true but now I'm starting to get excited for some of it

A real man doesn't use weapons of destruction. A real man talks his way out of a combat situation and pays other individuals to use weapons for him.

I usually stick to energy weapons and regular guns on my first playthrough. Although in NV I did a solely explosive weapon playthrough on hardcoe mode which was a fun challenge.

All of my character's from Fallout have functioned as some form of grizzled survivalist. I roll around with 3-4 weapons with distinct functions:

-Knife for up-close and personal stealth kills

-Shotgun for narrow corridors and dense, urban environments

-Marksman rifle for mid to long range encounters

I like sneaky characters so my guns will all have some form of suppressors to accommodate me.
