Weapon Preference

Post » Fri Nov 27, 2015 11:02 pm

I concur on the lasers (though I like all energy weapons...well, except the heavy kind (exception: Gatling type weapons), like the Tesla canon (I hate to reload after each shot)), then I love bolt-action-rifles (particularly the Anti-Material-Rifle from New Vegas) and scoped assault-rifles...oh and handguns (even revolvers, though I prefer semi-autos with a magazine!)

I don't much care for flamers, normal Gatling guns (they waste too much ammo IMHO...don't love weapons that can't shoot a tight grouping) or shotguns much (ok: Unless I am in a building...nothing better for close in combat than a shotgun...it's just that games always underplay the performance (range!) of shotguns (they are effective over ten meters of distance, which games don't seem to get -.-))...unarmed is not my cup of tea, same for melee weapons :(

greetings LAX

ps: I want my alien blaster :) (and lot's of energy-cells for it!)

With the way the armours were set up in FO3 and FO:NV, if I used power armour I would use energy weapons because of the negatives to AGI and if I used any other armour then I'd use small weapons, i.e. rifles and pistols.

the alien blaster isnt nessisary anymore now that they are adding in a new weapon type with cryo weapons which will most likely be moddable like the others.

they will basically function the same/better than alien blasters.

Energy weapons. Single, high damage, projectiles. Plasma, lasers, gauss rifles. If it's a rifle, and it's an energy weapon, I'll use it.

I've never really liked Energy Weapons, but I think I'll go with them for my first playthrough because they fit what my science-oriented character would do. Plus, I feel like in FO4 it's going to be preferable to match Science with Energy Weapons and Gun Nut with Guns, and as my character is going to have lots of points in Science, it seems a waste to have to also put points in Gun Nut because I'm using Guns. Hope that makes sense.

My favorite weapon is a fully modded katana. Swift and efficient.

Then a fully modded scoped laser rifle, but this one is overpowered IMO

Really hope the katana comes back!!

Tesla Cannon. Using the barrel or capcitor to change it to either a cryo cannon, plasma cannon, laser cannon! Gauss Rifle with a anti material rifle look!

I'm pretty sure they'll be more the just 50 base weapons. Todd did say over 50 and probably couldn't give a specific number because that's probably what he has seen himself!
