Just stared a new game for the first time in 12 months and a little problem I can not see my weapon in 3rd person but can in 1st. Its the same with mods enabled and disabled I have not installed any new hardware since I last played.
So does anyone what the problem could be ?

Missing alpha channel on the third person version of the textures? Grab FormID finder, and see what mod the sword comes from.
