Weapon Request: RPG

Post » Tue Sep 01, 2009 11:41 am

I think the http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RPG-7 (or a resembling model) should be included in a later DLC, since it fills a niche not taken yet: Explosives that counter armor. It performs similar to the Missile Launcher, but made for anti-armor purposes. These are some 'rough' stats:

DMG: 60 (on impact) + 130 (splash)
# of Projectiles: 1 per reload
Spread: 0.1 degree
Critical DMG: 0
Critical Chance: 0
AP: 40
Strength RQ: 5
Weight: 15
Value: 4500
Item HP: 75
-8 DT on splash, -10 DT on direct impact

Very good against armored foes like Deathclaws or Power Armor. Much smaller blast radius then the missile launcher, but the missiles have 3x velocity, and negate DT. Weapon is also smaller and lighter to handle. Uses iron sights aswell, unlike the missile launcher. A med-range scope mod would also help alot.

Yay or nay?

I like everything about your idea. Also put in an AK47/74 and we're good to go.

And a Dragunov, or a "Chinese Sniper Rifle" too :D

But yes, RPG-7s are always fun to fire.

We already have a missile launcher with high-velocity rockets. Sure they're rare, but we don't need a weapon specifically for punching through armor.

I vote yes. More options for weaponry is *always* a good thing.

Strength Req 6. :whistling:

If you're implying that it should have a bigger Strength Req. just look at http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_Hn7iqzL7hyI/SeT4awS5ZKI/AAAAAAAAAiY/Jb5_WfB1LUg/s320/Taliban-fighter-RPG.jpg.
Does he look like his Strength is above 4?

Hmmm what do you think about having one shot disposable AT weapons? Like AT4's or LAW's?

Only if it does like 600 freaking damage per strike. Having to buy an entire gun every time you use it is a no-no.

Any, who else wants the RPG-7 in this? Are the stats I listed reasonable? Basically it would be like a "sniper rifle" for the Explosive category.

We already have the Missile Launcher, I don't necessarily see the need for an RPG. An anti-armor missile weapon would likely not have existed in the American arsenal at the time of the Great War, in any case, due to the preponderance of energy weapons which would do the job of punching through armor far better and more efficiently.

I'd rather see more original in-universe weapons.

Or the RPG could bee a crafted weapon. Add some basic items like long tube and other items to build RPG.

I can support that, the Wattz weapons look better than Bethesda's AEP/AER weapons. Though i do prefer Bethesda's plasma weapon models.

hmm thats strange to me, beths plasma weapons always look like cheap ass jury rigged pieces of junk. The plasma caster and glock 86 look like they where manufacture with a proper military industrial base.

Personally, I do prefer the Beth plasma rifle to that of the FO2 plasma rifle; from a purely aesthetic standpoint it appealed to me more. I still enjoy the plasma caster, though.

I don't, but good thing MadCat is making a remodel of it in Bethesda's style, WIP shots look promising. http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1163963-wipz-heavy-plasma-awesomefied/

I voted no. We already have the missle launcher I don't see why we need another. People always want Call Of Duty-type weapons to be put in games.

Is that honestly why you think I want the most famous launcher in the world in the game? I suggest you re-read that first post, if this is the case.

I think that this wep would be a great addition. It would be nice to see another explosive weapon. Especially since it can require less strength than the missile launcher.
