Weapon setup for lonesome road

Post » Thu May 03, 2012 7:57 am

Ok, so after going in tooled up to the nines, I have narrowed down the perfect selection of guns to get through this DLC

1. Minigun/Gatling laser: either is great, as both make stupendously short work of marked men, even irradiated MMs. They'll drop like flies, though obviously make sure you have a good supply of ammo as they chew through it at a good rate

2. Riot shotgun: this is the best anti-deathclaw gun, as long as you be sure to take the Shotgun Surgeon and Stay Back perks. Spam the trigger as they run at you, then close and execute when they get knocked down.

3. Anything else you find: there's tonnes of guns and ammo to be found, the SMMG is a good gun for general use and to conserve ammo for the others, and Red Glare is utterly demonic.

Any other setups?

Christine's COS Silencer Rifle is perfect for this DLC.

its a great gun but when roboscorps eat .50 cal AP, and EXPL. like candy, the cos rifle seems alil weak I used the AMR,riot shotgun, this machine,x-2 attennea, and the auto rifle. the medicine stick worked great as well

I'm playing through again and Paciencia is doing a fantastic job of putting Marked Men away.

It is weaker then the AMR, but the silencer makes it even more effective in my opinion.

I haven't played through this one yet as well but is there any good ew weapons in this one like there was holographic rifle in DM? because thats my specialty. At level 36 now btw and I still dont own a Gattling as I cant find it at any of the traders, cant find a ballistic fist as well nor the mods for tri-beam (gra) which was itself very difficult to get. Dont know what could be the reason but maybe I shouldn't have killed the Van Graff's so early ?

You could try the Brotherhood. It may seem strange, but I find that a lot of the caravans that wander the highways have GRA Tri-Beam's and the mods.

The only energy weapon in Lonesome Road is the Flare Gun.

Brass Knuckles and a .22 pistol.

Joking, I suggest carrying only one or two guns and a ton of ammo (on casual mode, on hardcoe bring a decent amount of ammo) so you will have more than enough to face everything in the Divide.

I don't get why people don't just play the game instead of asking people for tips.

Play however you want to play, not how another person(s) wants to play. :nope:

Gobi - Excellent long range properties, massive hitting power with a crit build, and low AP costs in case someone gets through, making it the best Sniper weapon hands down. Suppresors are overrated

Protonic Inversal Axe - Sentry Bots's doom, makes quick work of obtrusive packs of Tunnelers, when driving in a lift, too.

Red Glare+++ - To make clear whos' boss in the Courier Mile, and why it's not called Deathclaw Mile or Marked Man Mile.

Sometimes it's good to see how other people approach things. You never know, you may have overlooked a weapon or a way of tackling things. And sometimes people just get plain stuck.

I found this DLC was a definite case of choosing the right weapons for the right situations - take the wrong guns and you'll be very sorry!

Well i got the gattling laser and balistic fist at bos this time because I finished their quests just now but its getting quite frustrating beacuse even the BOS store doesn't have the tri beam, plasma caster and plasma defender mods and I am at level 39 now.

I do remember some stores or was it travelling merchants selling the plasma defender mods earlier in the game but just cant find them now. The ones at the Mojave outpost have simply stopped updating their stuff. Anyhow I'll keep the faith and go in with what I have but it seems to me guns is the best simply for this reason,, during my guns playthrough I was set with all my favorite weapons by level 16 I think..

Travelling Merchants sell Tri-Beam and Plasma Defender mods. The Van Graffs and the Gun Runners sell them too.

I have a grenade launcher I've been using sense I picked it up.

With Grunt, Lord Death, Demolitions Expert (3), Splash Damage, Bloody Mess and few others I hope I can keep using my baby until the end of the game.

Riot Shotgun with the Shotgun Surgeon + And Stay Back perks and the AMR or Christine's COS (and Sniper perk, if possible). And as much ammo (particularly magnum 12ga. shells) as possible.
