Yeah, that's not what I was saying at all. I realize that guns aren't stuck to a game and they're shared, but IMO cross bow w/ explosive bolts is a bad idea for Fallout.
Edit- this doesn't mean I'm against regular crossbows.
OK. That's cool. Let's think about this way, though: Why were there crossbows? Because they needed to find a way to shoot an arrow through harder and harder armor that didn't depend on a lifetime of practicing from an early age (ala the English). Why did they stop using them? Well no one really stopped, they just stopped using them for combat. And they did this because, quite frankly, they svcked in combat (too slow to reload) and gunpowder happened. Why did they not have explosive bolts? For the same reason it took us so long to perfect exploding cannon shot. It ain't easy to keep the darn fuse lit on a stick of dynomite strapped to a crossbow bolt. What do we have now (and in the FO future)? Advanced explosives and fuses. Is there some logical reason why exploding crossbow bolts could NOT have been produced in the FO world? Lacking any rationale other than "I don't like it", I see no canonical reason why exploding crossbow bolts could not exist in the FO world. Hell, we had a rifle that fired railroad spikes for cryin' out loud. Just where is the fine line between exploding bolts and steam gauges shooting spikes?
M1911 ( although isn't the 9mm pistol the m1911?)
A Bolt action rifle of some kind that doesn't come pre-equiped with a scope( springfield etc. etc)
Oh and a blow gun, I don't know why but this would be cool
The 9mm pistol is inspired by the Browning Hi-Power, or GP35, a standard military sidearm in many european countries for a long time. The 1911 was Browning's first real successful auto pistol and the HiPower his last.
The Hunting Rifle in game does not come pre-equipped with a scope, and, being inspired by rifles like the Remington 700, is basically the great grand nephew of the Springfield.
Useful silenced weapons would've been nice..
Blow guns, or even better, dart guns, would be a lovely silenced way to deliver all those fancy and mostly useless poisons they have teased us with. How Josh dropped the ball on this, I don't know. I'd even take a mod for the .22 pistol, if that's what it took to get a dart gun in the damn game.
:shocking:
Oh, and I'm going on record right now with this prediction: Mormons? Utah? There ain't no way in hell Josh is gonna have a DLC with Mormons in Utah without one of the weapons being some king of unique hand crafted by http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Browning, the greatest
Mormon gun designer ever, period. :celebration:
:shocking:
