Weapons/Armor .. repairing mods?

Post » Thu Dec 09, 2010 1:20 pm

Ok.. I got some certain goodies after completing the "Operation Anchorage" expansion, like the "Gauss Rifle" and "Chinese Stealth Armor/Suit" .. I wanted to know if there were any cross weapons and cross armor that would repairs these two things? Or is a "mod" required for repairing them. What I mean by "cross" weapons/armor is like how the regular hunting rifle repairs "Lincolns Repeater" and how "Outcast Armor" repairs regular Power Armor/Medic Armor, etc.. do these two items have something else that will repair them? (I know a trader/mechanic can, but not to 100%).

Also, the first time I played FO3, I remember a mod that allowed regular "scrap metal" / "scrap materials" repair Power Armor, anyone know if that mods is still available to download somewhere, and will it allow me to repairs other items too, like weapons?

Mothership Zeta has the Alien Epoxy which can be used to repair any item.

Do you mean http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=183 Don't know if it includes the gauss rifle of Chinese Stealth Suit, but it wouldn't be too hard to open up the GECK and make those changes yourself. :whistling:

The Chinese Stealth Armor from the vanilla game can be repaired with Recon Armor.

Thanks.. not the mod I remember, but I still like the looks of what it can do. I'll try it.

Also good to know that the "Recon Armor" repairs the "Chinese Stealth Armor", also makes sense that it does...

The mod I remembered was one that used just "Scrap Metal" to repair your "Power Armor" (all versions of it), then later it got updated to where it repaired weapons too, or atleast certain weapons. Having this mod would be awsome, since it seems I play smash-up derby with my Power Armor.

A mod that "slowed down" the degrading of weapons would be great too. IRL weapons would not degrade that quickly... some guns you shoot a few clips and it's degraded by 25% .. yikes!?!

Unfortunately, I don't have "Mothership Zeta" .. infact, don't have Broken Steel yet either.. just "Point Lookout", "Operation Anchorage", and "The Pitt".

I have'nt paid much attention to "Mothership Zeta", "Broken Steel", or the newer "New Vegas" either ... I read about the release of them, but that was it, I was not playing FO3 anymore and just did not read up on them.. now my interest is sparked again.. but I wanted to know:
1) Can "each" of them be purchased "seperately" in DVD/CD form?
2) If I install them "now", will they affect any current mods I have installed, or make me "loose" any of my goodies?
3) Are any "new XP achievements" and/or "Perks" added, or do you just remain maxed out?
4) Are all these new expansions still based on "DirectX 9", or are some now "DirectX 10" or even "DirectX 11" based games? (Dx9 still looks great, but Dx10 and Dx11 add alot more enhancements, especially w/ nVidia 400 series graphics cards)
