Is there a way to remove said cache from my player's back (e.g. flamer tanks, .50 Boxes, etc) there was a trick to it but i forgot about it.

You mean other than choosing another weapon?

You could try taking your clothes off (along with un-equipping the weapon) and them put them back on.
