My planned character will be using large caliber handguns, and carrying a single one the majority of the time. I'm sure i'd love a meatier N99 to make a comeback, but anything that is suitably one-handed and extremely blocky and big will do the job.

That garage that we saw in the trailer makes me hopeful that there's a lot of tinkering to be had with all of our items. I hope to get a nice collection of pistols and swap them out as my primary arm every now and then.

Yes! Because then you could role play this psycho dude who read way too much Grognak and some how stumbled upon this sword in someone's house and went about the wasteland slaying creatures and n'er do wells of all stripes!

I'd like to see bows and or repeating crossbows in the game. Along with more unarmed and melee weapons with actual decent animations in first and third person. I'd also like the idea of modifying weapons with other weapons. In example, that sniper rifle you never use could be dismantled and say the barrel could be placed on an assault rifle which would in turn decrease the rate of fire whilst increasing damage or range. I would also like to see a proper mods interface with a dynamic preview of mods placed on a certain weapon. Oh and i would LOVE it if the weapons you had holsters actually had holsters or sheaths or atleast a strap for an assault rifle when it's on your back.

A bow would be pretty cool but what skill would it fall under? It's not a engery weapon, a gun or a melee weapon.

A good variety of weapons from both New Vegas and Fallout 3 to return (such as the Combat Shotgun, 12.7mm pistols, and more) with their variety of upgrades + ammo (like in New Vegas).

I also would LOVE LOVE LOVE to have a very deadly and highly customizable Wasteland Crossbow as well (customizable as in a huge variety of bolts to use, such as normal, flaming, poisoned, etc).

I guess it could fit with throwing weapons like spears and knives, which is melee.

"Primitive weapons" for melee weapons and throwing weapons. Grenades being the exception (explosive)

Unarmed stays separate, with learnable moves like FNV

Distance derived from STR/traits/perks

In New Vegas, every weapons had its use, and depending on your build, even most of the lower tier weapons could be carried throughout the game and viably used in most situations, assuming you were smart. I want that. High tier should obviously be superior, but I've always hated how many weapons exist in every Beth game that are useless from the start, with no value but that which you can can sell them for.

my greatest hope is that all the previously existing weapons from FO3 and NV return with the addition of some new ones. I don't really think that will be the case though. We're sure to see some new ones and as well as a good number of the classic canon ones to return.

Bring back the Plasma Caster and a Plasma Rifle that isn't hideous in design and I will be satisfied.

I'm wondering if we can customize our weapons like in Dead Space 3,you know like combine a combat shotgun with a laser rifle .

And secondary fire would be cool to .

I hope they keep the Anti-Materiel Rifle. Or preferably a more modern looking semi-automatic version  need to pretend that Deathclaws can't be killed with a "saturday night special" :teehee:

And less cowboy weapons, please! :stare:

No kidding. I just couldn't use the Plasma Caster in NV. I just physically couldn't :lmao:

And yes, a modern longbow as an alternative for a silenced sniper rifle would be awesome

I agree with the plasma caster but I doubt we'll be seeing any different plasma rifle. The one we have is the only one that's existed to this point because the caster used to be called the rifle. I do think the plasma rifle looks pretty terrible but it's sort of fitting, it just doesn't seem like something that would have been used pre-war, but then again neither does the caster.

Maybe a red or a blue plasma rifle with bonus damage.

The Institute is very advanced in creating new technology.

Oh true. Didn't really consider the possibility of new types of weapons being manufactured by the institute, but it certainly opens up a lot of possibilities.

I'm such a fan of the "cowboy" weapons. I literally played hundreds of hours of NV without ever using a laser or plasma weapon. Just don't care for them.

A good old double barrel shotgun with long and sawn off variants please.

The combat shotgun was a favorite for its ppsh 41 look

And the R91 assault rifle

Some kind of snub nose revolver. Maybe based off the chief .38 special?

And of course a good old bolt action hunting rifle, with or without a scope.

Basic fare, but yeah.
