Weapons in Fallout 4

Post » Thu Nov 26, 2015 2:36 pm

Ayo, I was wondering how you want Bethesda to handle the weapons in this game and how you think they'll do it. What kinds of weapons from New Vegas do you want to see return? What Fallout 3 weapons would you like to see? Do you want them to completely scrap all the old weapons and make all new ones?

Personally, I really hope they include a great many of New Vegas' weapons, mainly the Unarmed and Energy weapons. The variety and usefulness of these weapon types was sooooo much greater than what we saw in FO3. I especially enjoyed the Displacer Glove and Plasma Caster. I also hope that they keep the multiple ammo types system.

well hopefully in general they used New Vegas as a base frame, with a wide range of ammo types, diffrent ammo types and gun customising, the kinda home built looking rifle from the wallpaper might suggest gun crafting could be a thing, whick I don′t mind.

Also as a side note I do hope they kept New Vegas way of handing gun/armour repair over Fallout 3s.

i hope they expand upon the weapon mod system and give each weapon group a wide and varied selection of modifications. i wanna strap shotgun shells to the end of a powerfist. itd also be pretty dope to see some more homemade varients of weapons. weapons in bos had both a regular and homemade varient . hell, even if just superficial, the aesthetics are cool

New Vegas used lots of cowboy and modern military style guns which I heavily doubt we'll see again ever. Bethesda may keep some of the energy weapons, unarmed (mainly just ballistic fist and displacer glove I'd imagine), and melee weapons however. Fallout 3 guns? I actually liked the plain assault rifle as well as the silenced version, I hope those return. And bring back the .32 pistol and Chinese pistol and make them actually useful and part of the weapon climb. They'll probably add on to the throwing weapons thing Obsidian started (throwing knives, throwing hatchets, throwing spears) and make it better.

Honestly I hope for more enrgery weapon types. For some reason I really want a engery Sniper Rifle(probably has to do with me love playing as a sniper in Fallout New Vegas). And Duel Weilding Pistols would be nice(they should have been in New Vegas imo)

I hope they incorporate some more jury-rigged weapons, than they have in the past. It's been hundreds of years, and a lot of weapons just look like well used pieces someone used before the world ended. The rifle or whatever it is at the end of the trailer, looks like it's possibly been jury-rigged with bits and pieces of wasteland material pieced together. So it would be nice to see other weapons like that as well. And if more weapons were jury-rigged pieces, it would give incentive for people to gather out in the wasteland what would otherwise be worthless junk even to sell, and piece the parts together to make a gun or explosive of some kind. They should definitely keep with the different range of ammo types. Customization of weapons should continue as well, which could add/be apart of the jury-rigging.

Someone else in another thread suggested that the last gun the dark haired vault guy had, had mods on it. I'm hoping that's the case, mods would be a cool addition to the game, would be even better if we could craft them too. :fallout:

I badly want Bows in Fallout 4, that needs to happen.

As long as I get what I got in NV (well, with some weapon mods on top of it); just about every weapon can be modified, I'm happy, on the gun department. Close-range? I still hate having to be a boxer. I want some kick moves, in Fallout 2 we at least had names for kick attacks it when we fought unarmed. Also, if they can keep the power attack when you used a deathclaw gauntlet, that be great.

1st character will go mechanical ranged, (no nrg, melee, grenades), use assault rifles, pistols, sniper

& heavy armor(power armor or some variation.)

I'm really hoping that each combat skill will be a viable option from the start unlike FO3.

I'd love to see some more creative weapons made from everyday tools to be used by raiders and low-tech wastelanders. Like blow-torches, nailguns, welding guns and other homemade weaponry. I think that's an awesome example of survival in the wasteland.

The more weapons the better. Even cobbled weapons made from various parts of other weapons would be great.

I'm doubting it. Not anywhere near as much thought was put into FO3's weapon/armor balancing as Obsidian did in FONV, and Skyrim shows that they still haven't. Just look how useless the special effects of melee weapons in Skyrim are: Broken crit effects for blades, inconsequential bleed damage for axes, and largely pointless armor piercing for maces/warhammers (since the vast majority of things get "durability" through sheer HP damage sponging). I bet we'll even see Skyrim's confusing and misleading "armor" value system too, and won't see DT return as the primary armor value.

I do hope to see a blend of the old weapons, alot of NV weapons seemed pointless in NV due to the games design (mainly explosive and heavy weapons) so would like to see them have a use.

I'd love the laser RCW to reappear, loved that gun in NV.

Agree about more crafter weapons, like in the Metro game it's a nice addition. Also gas powered weapons would be nice, stealth bonus?

Oh also would like mines to have more use, tend to be limited to knowing spawns or running backwards from an enemy...

Please no marvel :(
Now an Official Grognak the Barbarian replica sword complete with Genuine Leather textured plastic scabbard would be awesome!

That's actually a pretty cool idea. I would definitely love to see more bladed weapons in general. There were no real swords in New Vegas unless you count the Katana from GRA.

pff why stick to just dual wielding pistols, I say let us mix and match one handed weapons like ya could in Skyrim, whether mixing diffrent one handed guns, or having a gun in one hand and a melee weapon in the other
