Weapons left lying about

Post » Tue Apr 21, 2015 11:21 am

Is there a mod that places the weapon of a dead npc in the inventory of said npc instead of lying on the ground and boating my save file? I'll be really grateful for an answer to this.

I already tried the unofficial patch but it gives CTD even if the load order is proper.

What's wrong with picking them up and putting them back into the corpses? Or keeping them and selling them? ;)

There is the Unofficial Patch. Sorry you are having issues with it.

Which version of the patch were you using and where was it placed in the load order.

What mods are you using?

What is your load order?

Did you use Loot to load your mods.

I thought weapons did stay in the inventory of their fallen users. They are rendered as if they were lying loose, but you can loot them off of the corpse, and you can search the corpse by activating the weapon ... at least in my game. Many a time after having a slain enemy fall off a cliff or bridge I've been able to loot the corpse anyway by activating the weapon he dropped instead.

Here is the load order:

At the moment I don't have the patches but I kept one under each of their esm file. I got a CTD after removing them as well, but before doing so it crashed really often. Twice or thrice when using fast travel and once during an random encounter.

Maybe some mod I'm using is in conflict with the patch. I truly have no idea.

I have a question though. Is it harmful to continue a savegame after removing a mod? Because I did that on one character.

Sounds really weird that the Unofficial Patches cause CTDs. I don't spot any potential conflict for that. Did you try with only them and no other mod?

Continuing using the save after removing a mod can be very harmful since ton of stuff gets baked into the save.

It totally depends on the mod in question, what was it?

Some mods you can remove and there are no problems at all, others can ruin your save completely, and then others might be OK to remove if you 'http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/52363/' a save made after removal.

Oh, and I'd say the Unofficial Patches are absolutely essential for everyone, and almost definitely weren't the cause of any CTDs
