Weapons, Mods and Ammo Mega-Thread #9

We already know there is an M1 Garand style rifle in the game its appeared in quite a few videos, my only dilemma is figuring out whether "This Machine" is actually that rifle and its been a "unique" weapon this entire time or if "This Machine" is a "unique" version of that M1 Garand style weapon. Quite the pickle if you ask me. :tops:

Oh that's awesome! :D

I don't remember who but someone wanted an M2 and I'm pretty sure it's in, what else would the .50BMG go to?

I took me forever but I found it, the other weapon chambered in .45-70 Gov't is the Brush Gun! I paused it just in time to see its chambered in .45-70 Gov't. It was a big pain in the ass but I'm glad to be the one to solve the mystery.

From the picture of the Vault Boy it looked to be a Lever-Action Rifle so I'm assuming its the Winchester 1886 or the Marlin 1895 that was already mentioned by Josh. :tops:

EDIT: By the way if your looking for the Brush Gun as well its between 30:30 and 30:35 in the BestBuy video you have to pause it just right hence way it took me forever, I paused around 30:32-30:33ish.

10mm SMG should be able to have a arm stock mod (whatever you wanna call it) and a silencer & reflex scope or laser.

I wanna see something like this

This is a tactical SMG

What's the point? It'll be shootin' those [censored] pistol shells anyway gimme a rifle over an SMG any day.

I do believe This Machine is in fact that elusive Garand. It has an ammo capacity of 8, which paired with the Vault-Boy image strongly suggests that it is the Garand. It might be a one-of-a-kind weapon or a unique though.

I was just messin with ya I'm pretty sure a silencer and maybe fore-grip(but I doubt it) for the 10mm SMG, I could see a reflex sight happening as well.

Highlight below for spoilers...

--------There are 14 unique guns, 8 unique energy weapons, 9 unique melee or melee and unarmed, and there are a few unique explosives one is the Holy Hand Grenade. Another unique that I know of is a unique gauss rifle. The anti material rifle is the only weapon that fires .50bmg it also fires 45-70 (I don't know why). -----------

The Man has already stated that the AMR only fires .50 mg ammo:

That is incorrect. The AMR uses .50 MG ammo only.

The more I learn about the Anti-Material Rifle, the more I'm beginning to think it's one of the "end game" guns for when you're approaching or at level 30. It requires a strength of 8 to wield effectively, and it has a unique ammo for which it is the ONLY gun in the game that uses it meaning that the gun is hard to "feed" (perhaps even necessitating a heavy investment in the Repair skill to make ammo for it). And just from the name and the caliber of ammo it uses alone, I can tell the gun is probably going to do a metric sh!t ton of damage in the game, because real .50BMG bullets were designed to shoot aircraft down, and I've seen horrible photos of what .50cal MG bullets have done to people in real wars.

Nothing, only the AMR fires it, which begs the question, what else shoots BBs?

Also, the .223 pistol no longer fires .223, so what does it fire? 5.56? Is it just that there is no .223 round in the game?

.223 has the same dimensions as 5.56mm. In fact, some guns are able to shoot both, IRL.

That's correct- the case dimension differences are minuscule between the two rounds. Generally, it is unsafe to fire a 5.56 out of a firearm only rated for .223, but 5.56 chambered weapons fire .223 just fine.

Correct. Therefor, my guess is that the .223 pistol fires 5.56mm ammo in the game. Obviously not something you'd do in real life, but this is a game with gatling lasers. :gun:

I was hoping so, but I was just going by what I was told by the guy with the guide, and this is a game so who knew. I should have known cause Sawyer has good knowledge of firearms and to make those two cartridges interchangeable would be ridiculous.

Do we know what new melee weapons there are? My all-melee playthrough could use some spice, especially since I'm gonna be missing my Auto-Axe and Shocksword. :(
