Weapons, Mods and Ammo Mega-Thread #9

If it is actually dark in metros and what not now, then a flashlight would prove very useful, maybe even a flare that we can just strike and throw down a long, dark hallway, like a grenade.

Or a Pip-Boy light worth half a damn.

Nah, I like it better when you just have that circle of light, makes it creepy as hell, but I'm guessing its not going to be to dark underground, just like in FO3

That's affirmative, over.

I think you'll see mods for the 50 or so guns, energy and some s'plosives, and some might not have 3 mods, they may have less. I don't think there'll be many mods for melee/unarmed, with the possible exception of poison, so we're looking at closer to 120-150 distict world items.

-Gunny out.

Regarding the poison for melee weapons. I recall seeing in the G4 special in the list of craftable items from the campfire. I paused when it got to bleak venom which showed the effects -15HP(10 sec.)
I may be off on that and will double check to make sure but have 2 questions while I review the video.

1) I actually feel kinda stupid for forgetting this but, when the effects are fire or poison and the effects are x(y) with x=damage and y=seconds
would that be the amount of damage that is inflicted every second for a set amount of time or the amount of damage inflicted total after that course of time? (sorry if that sounds confusing)

2) If they have "bleak" venom do you believe they may have stronger variations that you may put on melee weapons as well or do think that bleak poison will be the only one?

EDIT: sorry, bleak poison changed to bleak venom...........brain fart
EDIT 2: Bleak venom effects revised from 15(20 sec) to 15(10 sec)

This couldbe the case, though I'd like to see it been awarded to the player after doing everything for the Omerta.

1) I believe it is the number of damage each second for the number of seconds. So Bleak Poison would deal a whopping 300 DAM over 20 seconds. That's Bleak.
2) I get the distinct impression that they want us to have all kinds of choices for stuff like this, so I bet there'll be lots of poisons, maybe some that do different things, ie: deal KO damage.

Can we apply poison discreetly? Through say, while playing blackjack you slip a vial of poison into you opponents whiskey, in which he takes a sip and falls face flat on the table moments later? That'd be fun, like the Poisoned Apples in Oblivion.

After reading that I feel that wouldn't be something open to a player to do freely in most given situations but thinking further I have a definite feel that a quest may involve such a thing.

I want to know what all will be compatible with a silencer. Also, were bows/crossbows ever confirmed?

The .22 SMG is internally suppressed, The .22 Pistol can have a suppressor....I think that's about it honestly. And I don't think Bows are in this game sadly...

You forgot the Assault Carbine, the Varmint Rifle, and maybe the 9mm pistol as it has one mod we don't know of.

There was another craftable in the vid called "Tremble". All its effects are debuffs to(off the top of my head) guns, explosives, and a couple others. It also did HP damage. Man will that make an NCR Ranger regret taking you and your throwing spear on.

Theres more weapons that can be suppressed, I'm pretty sure you could suppress the Service Rifle also.
