Weapons, Mods and Ammo Mega-Thread #10

Heh, I'm glad you're all satisfied.
Well, I just thought of something. Whenever our threads hit 11 pages they're shut down and we have to make a new one...
And this is our 10th thread.
So does that mean that our 11th thread will be our last? After that we'll have to come up with a new name for the thread!

Many, many topics have gone over the fabled 11 of the 11ths, young one.

Nope, it's at 22 or something on the "What you want in New Vegas thread".

Probably, theres a couple different shotguns, they can't all be pump and break-action.

If theres a Fully Automatic mod, I'd love it.

Back when I thought that the riot shotgun was just a fully modded pump action, I would have said there's no way in hell. But it looks like the riot gun is a base weapon model and could have up to three mods itself. Just how would you mod a shotgun that's already semi-auto and has a drum mag? Full auto mod FTW.

This raises the MOST IMPORTANT question: Will the AI recognize fire superiority?

Yes, the http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20100908224815/fallout/images/thumb/9/9c/Riot_shotgun.jpg/770px-Riot_shotgun.jpg is semi automatic and holds twelve 12 gauge rounds for super street sweeping fun.

No, they will still run straight at you regardless if a wall of lead is coming their way.

I hope they recognize Armor superiority and run far far away if you can trudge through a hail of fire to go beat the crap out of them.

In Fallout 3 when you got to a high level sometimes enemies like raiders would just say "F*** this!" and run away. So you could pretty much run up to them with a melee weapon and they'd get scared and turn tail. I wouldn't be surprised if a similar thing was in new vegas, where if your DT is blocking most of their damage, they go into flee mode and try to find a better weapon.
This raises the MOST IMPORTANT question: Will the AI recognize fire superiority?

They don't recognize it until their health gets low and they say "THIS IS HOPELESS" and run away.

What is strange is, the photo of the Laser RCW in wiki he isn't holding it by a handle grib

http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Laser_RCW

But here we see the Laser RCW with the handle grip

http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/fallout/images/1/18/LRCW.jpg

I am now confused, maybe the one on wiki is a modded RCW I really hope that is the case.

And I also realized something else . . .

That screenshot is from Fallout 3, , the HUD is green among other things you will notice.

What ever are you talking about? In the first shot he is definitely holding it by the grip, you can't see his right hand but you can see his left hand gripping the front handguard.

And both screenshots are from Fallout: New Vegas.

What are you talking about?

A Tommy Gun modified for energy discharge? I wonder if it's an unique version of the base TG. Or if this is the TG, only implemented in an unexpected way. It's even lacking a foregrip and is held similar to the Combat Shottie from F3. If it's base - it can be modified. If not - it's unique. Which means a potential base model TG that uses conventional ammo.

Sigh. I guess conventional arm users are somewhat disadvantaged now.

No his left hand is more holding it like a Thompson WW II gun without a handle grip

The screenshot with the "RCW" on the table, you will notice the HUD is green and not the yellowish orange that is Fallout New Vegas. That screenshot is from Fallout 3 . . .

Ohhh I see what you mean, you mean like a vertical foregrip.
And I anticipated your second point.

Let me dispel some misconceptions.
First off, the second pic doesn't show a vertical foregrip either, the crosshair is just situated where one would be, giving the illusion that one exists.
Second, I assure you the second screenshot is from New Vegas. The HUD is blue, not green.

It is very silly to think that New Vegas would force you to use the default amber color for your HUD and Pip Boy, and wouldn't let you customize it.
After all, Fallout 3 let you change the colors, so why not in New Vegas?

The color has just been customized according to player preference. I ask you, why would there be a "Laser RCW" in Fallout 3 when that weapon didn't exist until new vegas?

Uh... no, in three and New Vegas you can change the color of the HUD and the Pip Boy to blue, white, orange, and green.

And there's no foregrip in both screen shots, the one where it's on the table looks like it has one, but that's just the red crosshairs in the way.

Are you color-blind? That's definitely blue, and you can change HUD colors.

What is weird though, is that it is only worth 207, must be horrible condition. But that is indeed New Vegas, you can see the end of a Plasma Caster on the left table.

Blue green pink purple I don't care what the color of the HUD & yes it is blue in the screenshot. That is not the only thing that makes me pretty certain that is a Fallout 3 screenshot, the gun model itself compared to the gun model on wiki.

There is a handle grip whatever you want to call it on that Tommy Gun on the table, that is a fact. The guy holding the RCW on wiki is holding the gun like a WW II Thompson, there is no handle grip . . He is holding it like you would a M16, a M4, a R 15, a M1 rifle etc take your pick.

There are Tommy Gun mods for Fallout 3 and you can easily change the names of gun's in the GECK for Fallout 3. I am not going to argue anymore about it, that is a Fallout 3 screenshot of a Tommy Gun mod and is not a screenshot of Fallout New Vegas.

I am %90 that I am right
