Weapons, Mods and Ammo Mega-Thread #12

Apparently the Thompson Submachine gun did make it in the game... in some sense. The Laser RCW, as you can see on Fallout Wiki, resembles a Tommy gun. That's right, Obsidian threw us a curve ball and gave us Tommy guns... that fire lasers. I've got to say, that's quite awesome.

I gotta wait tell tomorrow morning to play my PC version, the only thing I am really wanting to find out is if there is a forward grip mod for the Laser RCW to make it a full fledged Tommy Gun and not just a Thompson with a drum mag . . . Which is still cool do not get me wrong but dang com on really?

And some freakin kid spoiled a very interesting part or thing about one of the Casino's at the midnight release, its . . Very interesting actually. But for all I know it could have been announced in a gameplay vid or in some update but I wouldn't know because I haven't read or watched anything about New Vegas in like a week & a half lol.

Well guys, got my CE and a guide. Taping the quest pages shut for now. gonna install and go take a smoke and look over the weapons lists. Looks like the M1 Garand style rifle is
Spoiler
a unique and the only one in the game
I'll check back in a little later.

Well it could be, but like I said, that guide is incomplete, it's missing quite a few mods, unless the guy who transcribed the list of mods missed a bunch.

Lemme guess, it's about meat?

Have of you guys played it yet? The guns look cool and the melee weapons look cool. I can't decide if I want to go with ranged weapons or melee anymore.

I played from 12:30 until 7:30... I have found quite a few guns, and am in love with a few. My character favors shotguns, but I can't resist using a few of the choice offerings I've had so far. Right before I had to go to work (of course), I stole two very promising looking high caliber rifles, both from the same town, and almost creamed myself... 7 more hours until I get to test them out.

Here's a question for those with the game. I hear there is a anti-materiel rifle in the game that requires quite high strength to use (8 IIRC), is it possible to use Buffout (or it's equivalent in NV) to temporarily raise your strength and use the gun without penalties?

Probably. This is what Buffout always did.

Hey guys! I just beat the NCR ending, now i'm just playing my save before the end quest doing all the quests and followers, etc.
The weapons are awesome!
So what are your favorite weapons so far?
I fancy the Lucky .357 revolver for early game weapons and the Anti- Materiel end game wep, with incendiary rounds of course, kills deathclaws in two shots!
Well, after i do most of the quests im going to start a Caesars Legion Melee and Unarmed character.

-Sitrep, over.

Doin a sneak/sniper real slow. Level capped, got 72 hours in and I just got to Vegas last night. Loved the fully modded varmint for a real long time early, with Lucky and lever-action shotty as backups. Been using mostly All-american and some Gobi lately, and I got an AMR in the safe in Novak for later. Backups are BFR and Riotgun. Just last night, in one location, I ran accross my second BFR and both my first 12.7mm pistol and 12.7mm SMG. Taking those puppies for a spin right after hitting the "add reply" button. Craftin the [censored] out of some ammo and I'm very happy how my build worked out. The only real problem I had was with a few cazadores when I left Goodsprings in the wrong direction at level 2.

-Gunny, out.
