Weapons, Mods and Ammo Mega-Thread #12

Post » Fri Nov 19, 2010 6:24 pm

Well folks, it's getting real close. I reckon we'll soon morph this thread from a speculation/reveal thread to an answer weapons question thread.

What we were talking about as the last thread came to a close:

Energy weapon CQB weapon options, ala multiplas/tri-beam
Varmint Rifle change from .22 to 5.56mm and if it will still be a viable weapon platform.

Ok second post. Am I the only person who thinks that the Single Shot Shotgun will be the coolest one? Sorry I don't know a lot about weapons.

I was almost really close to ninja'ing you 46.
Then, I just felt bad for doing so.
Always respecting the elders.

OT: I still have a day and a half to go before I get my game. Damn you school.

I expect a break action to have a pretty long reload time. This will probs balance a high DAM. Nice up close and personal finish 'em off typw weapon though. Or maybe punch a slug through the power armored guy weapon. Also, I couldn't remember, but when you played at e3, did the Varmint Rifle use .22 or 5.56mm?

Also, for the gent that asked for a screenie of the Laser RCW, http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Laser_RCW

It looks like a hell of a weapon, yeah, but I think the other shotties will overpower it later on down the road. The Caravan Shotgun, for instance, does only slightly less damage, but it holds two rounds at a time as opposed to one. The Riot and Hunting Shotguns are way more powerful and hold more rounds, as well, but I imagine they're less common.

There's no way in hell Josh would let that buggy piece of junk go without being fixed. The bugs were well known, so I'm sure not only that the damage problem was fixed, but also the scope error problem with all scopes.

I'm disappointed that he put the Fallout 3 gauss rifle in.

When I played with it at PAX I believe it had .22 ammo but don't quote me on that. Also, if it means anything, the three mods that you can have on it is the suppressor, the night (vision) scope, and extended magazines. As for the reload time, it was about 1.5 seconds so I will probably be able to take out most enemies in one shot sans the larger critters and NCR Rangers.

EDIT: After review on my photobucket picture I took, it actually uses 5.56mm rounds.

Yes the mods are permanent. So use them wisely.

With the weighted ammo I expect to be doing a lot more melee than I prefer.. which is no melee.

I'm bringing back the airgun, boys. These are all animals killed with big bore air rifles.

So, mods for the BB gun:
Big bore barrel (allows you to fire big BBs and loat shots of BBs, using 10BBs per shot)
High velocity system
Scope

Who's with me?

I assume that they are limited but there will probably be a lot overall because the mods are tailored to a specific weapon type. e.g. You cant put a 9mm Pistol mod on a .357 Magnum.

No varmint loads yet. Maybe they were planned with the Varmint Rifle, who knows how the change in caliber changed other things.
