Well, I know what you want to say, but look at this:

It's all about the weapon positioning beeing a lot more comfortable. In Crysis 2, I sometimes had the feeling the guns were permanently pressed in my face, they took a big part of the screen.
Because of that, many details of the guns are lost, no one saw the gun properely.
The changes I made, were done with 2 variables in the script file of Crysis 2, it wouldn't be too hard, to change them slightly.
Oh, and btw, "r_drawnearfov" command makes weapons look very fisheyed, that's why I would never even consider using it.
EDIT:
Crysis 2 had to be different from the older versions because of its engine...Nope, that wasn't fairly a reason. Either it was, because Crytek felt like it looked better like this, or it was to help the console with the rendering (by not showing as much screenspace as there actually is), but the true reason is not
just the engine.
