Weapons that you'll main character will use

Bound if at all possible, I don't like being weighted down. Magic.
I prefer longswords, bows, arrows, daggers, projectile throws. Potions and enchantments also.

I'm gonna dual wield two katanas, for the shear badass-ness and if what some one on pg 1 said is true, I'm gonna dual wield staves to!

Whether it's bound or natural, it doesn't change your weapon type choice.

Dual Bow. Fatality.

I'm gonna one-up this and say dual crossbows with extradimensional loading pockets and delayed-explosion tips.

I can dream, right?

Concept art isnt a very good gauge for how stuff will end up being, gameplay-wise. And I was referring more to whether staves will be an actual weapon that you smash people with, or a spell casting kind of deal.
And for either case, I wonder what skill, if any, they will be a part of?

Well, the weapon skills are One Handed and Two Handed. I don't see why they can't be both with perks relating to the different kinds. Assuming they can be used as a blunt weapon. I mean, all weapon "types" fall under both. There are One Handed swords, and Two Handed swords. Don't see why Staves should be any different. as was pointed out by Sleign we do have a screenshot of One Handed magical staves at the least.

As for the question at hand, I'll be using a Dagger if they make them and stealth as awesome as they claim. If not I'll fall back to Longsword. For my off-hand I will be using spells to aid my stealth. I'll also use a bow to stealthily pick off targets and range.

Oh and, Duel Shields FTW! That was the first thing I thought of when they revealed duel wielding.

Main weapon: bow
For when I am forced to engage in melee: longsword and shield
Close-quarters stealth strikes: dagger

Thank you for making it so much more complicated. As bad as it sounds...

I'm really hoping that there might be more options for bound weapons in conjuration. Five weapons really just doesn't cut it.

Blade+Board combo, maybe Axe+Board if axes aren't as lame as they were in Oblivion. I hope spears will bei n, in which case I'll also be wielding one of those for my 2h handed weapon. And a bow of course.

Not sure about this whole dual-wielding thing. Any self respecting Nord has a proper shield!

That's what the last dual wield option ("Dual Wield: other mix") is for. Longsword + axe isn't mainstream. In fact, I think I never saw it in any game.

Well, that's what I mention "other mix" for, you silly. :slap:

By the way, what's so strange about wielding both a longsword and an axe if dual wielding axes or longswords isn't. :toughninja:  Not to mention dual wielding shields, that's completely bananas.

My favorite combo is generally Saber + Flintlock Pistol, but since it's unlikely we'll see firearms of any kind, it'll probably be Saber + Torch with a bow as backup.

Hopefully parrying won't just be a poor man's Block this time, I'd like if it had some reasonable effects that make it useful over a shield in some cases.

Maces, just love the smashyness.

To start I will try out different combinations of off-handers but my main will be a mace and I will always have a shield, at least at the start.

Thinking an axe but maybe a dagger just to be different, plus I always was sneaking even though it was not my "chosen" skill so maybe I will get some cool perks with that dagger...

...like a higher chance to disarm the attacking opponent, for instance. I agree with you a 100%. It was weird that you had to learn to use a shield if you didn't want to use it  . That's why the "weapon blocking governed by weapon skill" is in my wishlist in my signature.

I plan on using spears, an axe and shield, and dual axes (I'll eventually use maces as well I'm sure). I can't wait to be able to make a proper barbarian character; running around drunk and naked with two mean lookin' axes. :hehe:

just thought of who im going to make one of my human characters look like... its either going to be the big German guy from Kingdom of Heaven (yea the one who fought with a crossbow arrow in his neck) at one point he had a sword in one hand and an axe in the other.... or ill make him like Gawain in the movie King Arthur (the one with clive owen as arthur) in the begging when they fight the wolds off of the wagon, he had i think a small axe and a short sword. i think those combos are just bad ass

ok i found a link for the german guy in Kingdom of Heavon if this doesnt reek of Skyrim then your just crazy.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gAU-E3SKWTc go to 2:08 and enjoy
