Weapons as Watches ? ! ? Animals doing handstands? ! ?

Post » Wed Mar 11, 2015 12:30 am

Something's wrong.

Sometimes I see animals in the distance a bit far off and they are walking vertically. Like a radscorpion walking on its pincers like it's doing a handstand and brahmin walking on their hind legs sort of diagonally.

It happens with all animals and animals only. It's pretty random but happens a lot.

Once I get kind of close (maybe 100 in-game feet away) they revert to normal.

The other thing.

So I walk into Big Town and Flash is like "LOok at my new gun!" and he's wearing it like a watch!

Then I notice some of the other folks and they are too! It happens randomly and pretty much everywhere. Sometimes things are normal and sometimes it's "wear your weapon as a watch!" day.

Help

Are you on PC? Are you using mods?

EDIT: I just saw your other thread in the mods forum. You should post your mod list.

Yes, strange things happen, must be the radiations or something in the water.

Just wait until you meet deathclaws playing rockets, or robots flying, or corpses burying themselves. :D

Glitches are not caused by the mods, it's the game engine

And I forgot ants in the walls

lol funny funny

I've seen all that many times! And though I attribute it to Fallout 3's version of the "Wild Wasteland" trait (which everyone has whether they want it or not!) it's just the handstand-walking animals and weapons-as-watches that bother me the most.

When I'm low-level I'm actually happy about the kangaroo deathclaws

Ants (and roaches)in the walls is actually realistic too :P

Well either deal with or it or stop playing the game, as those are just a couple of the quirks of the game engine. And before you ask, the same things happen in New Vegas as well. Especially the hand-standing creatures. In fact, it might even happen more often there.

I've mostly see this happen to scorpions and bears on PS3 and PC modded. I don't think it can be fixed.

This reply is completely useless;

Furthermore, no one is talking about New Vegas here so here's a recommendation for you: don't talk about New Vegas.

I saw a discussion about this some time back, at least in regard to the scorpions and other creatures "swimming" through the landscape. It has to do with the interaction between the creature models' geometry and the landscape/static meshes, in particular the LOD meshes which have much lower polygon counts than the meshes used to render landscape objects at closer range.
