Wearable Mesh Resources

Plangkye's List Of Wearable Meshes
An Essential Guide for Tailors and Armorers

Any maker of clothing and/or armor for Morrowind knows that new meshes open up multitudes of possibilities for what they can make. This list endeavors to catalog the many resources that 3D modelers have created so that texture artists can make unique clothing. I'm not going to pretend I can make so formal a list of things as other people who have made lists, but I do know I can organize it effectively and that's what really matters, right?

If you know of a resource that isn't here, or a better link to use for any of them, tell me please.

Table of Contents

1. Introduction
(You're reading it.)

2. Vanilla-compatible meshes
(These models will replace whatever body part they're assigned to, or are meant to be assigned to the Clavicle or Skirt slot.)

3. Better Bodies meshes
(Some will work on vanilla bodies, but only if they have no alpha.)

4. Smoother Bodies meshes
(Not sure if anyone uses this anymore but still seemed worth posting about.)

5. Nothing here, I may use it later.

Vanilla-Compatible Meshes

These will, of course, work with Better Bodies as well, and some may even be used in conjunction with Better Bodies meshes.

http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=5190
Modified versions of Bethesda's gloves that don't have such widely-flared wrists.

http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=448
http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=651
Two robes, both designed to be revealing, though the "skin" layer can just as easily be textured as skintight fabric; if it is left as skin there need to be racial scripts. The first is backless and leaves the midriff bare, the second is hooded and cut down to the navel.

http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=1573
http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=1661
Three revealing tops - one short vest laced between the briasts, one short tank top, one long tank top. The "skin" layer can just as easily be textured as skintight fabric

http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=2511
These will twist and bend with the wearer, and take the Neck body slot. They are large and bunchy around the neck, to hide that the neck body part has been replaced.

http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=3197
The cape model is by Gorg. It takes the Neck body slot but does not hide the neck body part itself, so it needs to be scripted for race.

http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=669
A large and bulky scarf that covers from the nose to the upper chest.

http://www.elricm.com/nuke/html/modules.php?op=modload&name=Downloads&file=index&req=viewdownloaddetails&lid=917
A coat, loose breeches, and heavy boots, all of which are for both genders.

http://www.silgradtower.net/Websites/Misc_ST_Related/HostedWebsites/Smight.silgrad.com/Goggles2.htm
Several styles of goggles, most fairly futuristic. Takes Pauldron slot, so it can be worn without replacing any body parts.

http://www.silgradtower.net/Websites/Misc_ST_Related/HostedWebsites/Smight.silgrad.com/SC.htm
Four different styles, with and without spikes. Takes Pauldron slot, so it can be worn without replacing any body parts.

http://www.elricm.com/nuke/html/modules.php?op=modload&name=Downloads&file=index&req=viewdownloaddetails&lid=2407
Contains a hood model by Niero and a face mask model by Mantodea. The face mask model takes the Neck slot, and requires racial scripting. Please tell me if there are places to get these resources by themselves.

http://www.elricm.com/nuke/html/modules.php?op=modload&name=Downloads&file=index&req=viewdownloaddetails&lid=2328
Contains a pauldron mesh by Lingarn. If you know where to get the pauldron resource by itself, please tell me.

http://www.elricm.com/nuke/html/modules.php?op=modload&name=Downloads&file=index&req=viewdownloaddetails&lid=4535
The cape model is by Rhedd It takes the Clavicle slot, and therefore does not replace any body parts.

http://www.elricm.com/nuke/html/modules.php?op=modload&name=Downloads&file=index&req=viewdownloaddetails&lid=3950
The satchel takes the Neck slot, and will therefore need racial scripting.

http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=1601
An entire set of untextured armor. Some of the pieces are more finished than others.

http://www.elricm.com/nuke/html/modules.php?op=modload&name=Downloads&file=index&req=viewdownloaddetails&lid=1047
Contains two models by Niero - one full-body suit of female chainmail armor, and a pair of matching boots. There is clipping with Better Bodies and a Better Bodies compatible version has not been made.

Better Bodies Meshes

Some of these meshes will work with vanilla bodies, if no alpha channels are used. These meshes are marked with a [V] or with a [V*] for packs containing only some with this quality.
Some of these meshes require the replacement of body parts despite requiring Better Bodies, such as gloves and certain shoes. These meshes are marked with a [R] or with a [R*] for packs containing only some with this quality. Any mesh with this quality will require racial scripting if it's meant to show skin.

http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=1640 (V*) (R*)
Contains shirts for male and female characters, plus female-only long dresses, tight-fitting bodysuits, footless skirts, boots and gloves that also work on males if you "shorten" the mesh via alpha channels, and sleeve accessories.

http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=3327 [V*]
http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=3298 [R]
More styles of female shirts and pants, plus some face veils and strappy high heels.

http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=3328 [V]
Another male shirt, plus two loose-fitting male coats/robes.

http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=26617 [V]
A version of the loose-fitting male coat from the above pack that has the same loose torso, but tight sleeves.

http://www.tommyshideout.net/programs/KatsKastle/
Not a clothing resource in itself, but included on this list because it's the only place I can find an alpha-enabled version of NioLiv's puffy shouldered robe. The UV maps for the sleeves and body of this are in the next entry. If anyone can find a better, more resourcey location to download this particular model and its UV maps, please let me know, so I can include that link instead of this one.

http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=7463
More dress models made from NioLiv's meshes, combining bodices/skirts with sleeves that those precise models previously did not have.

http://silaria.rethan-manor.net/MWVisions_ResourceFiles.htm
Various vests and tops, and a pair of shoes, with UV maps included. More detailed than NioLiv's, but less versatile.

Better Clothes Beta - http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?we50x5domnl
More useful than the final Better Clothes mod as far as modding is concerned, since the meshes in the Beta are not broken into segments (they are in the final in order to make them display properly underneath armor). Since they are not segmented, they are easier to combine with other meshes and easier to use with alpha channels.

http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=2857 [R*]
http://www.elricm.com/nuke/html/modules.php?op=modload&name=Downloads&file=index&req=viewdownloaddetails&lid=1090 [R*]
Both mods contain various styles of thigh-high boots, that go further up the thigh than NioLiv's. The first also contains some bra and panty models, and the second also contains some short Gothic platform/spiky heeled boots with buckles.

http://www.elricm.com/nuke/html/modules.php?op=modload&name=Downloads&file=index&req=viewdownloaddetails&lid=298 [R] [V]
The greaves reach knee-length and have shaped armor plates at the top.

http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=2995 [R]
A variant of Durgoth's boots that is more platformy and spiky-heeled.

http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=3313 [R]
Stiletto boots and pumps. Heels on these are VERY high.

http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=26573
Four shoe/boot models that Silaria started and Mandamus finished.

http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=1156
Included because it's the simplest place I can find Neuman's tight dress mesh. Please tell me if you find a more resourcey download of this mesh.

http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=7169&id=1153
Included because it's the only place I can find Sierrebrarc's boot mesh and Junkmail's pants mesh. If you know of more resourcey ways of downloading these meshes, let me know.

http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=2156
Andyguy has made a coat mesh with both male and female versions, two unisix pants meshes, two male shirt meshes, and boot meshes for both male and female characters. I don't know if he ever released a version of this that was specifically a resource; if you know of a resource-only version of this please let me know.

http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=2813
This mod contains models by Andyguy that first appeared in Heaven's Lookout, and also a very tight-fitting Chinese dress by Sierrebrarc.

http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=1791
Contains a ruffly-shouldered dress model with a sash around the waist, a single sleeve, and some chest armor based on Almalexia's.

Dereko's loincloths and tops - http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?ajtza2mdqqh
Loincloths in a few styles for both male and female characters, plus two styles of bra for females.

http://canadianice.ufrealms.net/Morrowind/Index.html
Queen of Hearts Armor contains a pair of leg plates that show skin for female characters, and Metal Queen Boutique contains a pair of full-arm-length bracers. CanadianIce requests that you ask her permission before using her models.

http://www.elricm.com/nuke/html/modules.php?op=modload&name=Downloads&file=index&req=viewdownloaddetails&lid=213
Two versions of the same dress, one just has the UV map on the skirt set up differently. The dress is segmented into body parts, so the bodice can be used without the sleeves or skirt, etc.

http://www.silgradtower.net/Websites/Misc_ST_Related/HostedWebsites/Smight.silgrad.com/Gowns.htm
An impractically-wide gown that also comes in a high-collared version. There is an optional set of lace trim for the collar and sleeves, as a separate mesh.

http://www.silgradtower.net/Websites/Misc_ST_Related/HostedWebsites/Smight.silgrad.com/RF.htm
A feathered beret, half-caped top, and pumpkin pants for male characters.

http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=6594
Converted for Morrowind by SpiritedTreasure. You must obtain permission to use this resource.

http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=5565
Set these up as Gloves, not Rings, since Rings don't display. Made by Spirited Treasure and Axel.

http://www.calislahn.com/elder-scrolls/resources/
Scroll down.

http://www.elricm.com/nuke/html/modules.php?op=modload&name=Downloads&file=index&req=viewdownloaddetails&lid=1235
Two different styles.

http://www.elricm.com/nuke/html/modules.php?op=modload&name=Downloads&file=index&req=viewdownloaddetails&lid=1276
Includes not only a feathered headdress but also matching pauldrons, plus a pair of bracers and some necklaces.

http://www.elricm.com/nuke/html/modules.php?op=modload&name=Downloads&file=index&req=viewdownloaddetails&lid=450
Since Dereko's site is gone, this is the only place I've been able to find both his cropped tank top for women and his laced-up sandals.

http://www.elricm.com/nuke/html/modules.php?op=modload&name=Downloads&file=index&req=viewdownloaddetails&lid=533
Composed of skirt and leotard meshes by Lingarn, and stocking and boot meshes by Lord Alt Tab.

http://www.gamesas.com/redirect.php?site=http://www.elricm.com/nuke/html/modules.php?op=modload&name=Downloads&file=index&req=viewdownloaddetails&lid=3898
A selection of body piercings for female characters made by Spirited Treasure and Axel.

http://www.elricm.com/nuke/html/modules.php?op=modload&name=Downloads&file=index&req=viewdownloaddetails&lid=208
Contains a double-sided version of Gorg's cape model. You must ask Korana before using it.

Slof's Morrowind Goth Shop I and II - No link due to advlt content in the screenshots; available on TES Nexus [V*]
Lots of male stuff here. There are several downloads:
Shop I contains several boots and a long coat by Junkmail, and some necklaces that may or may not be Gorg's.
Shop I, Add-On 1 contains an alpha-enabled torso tattoo mesh and male body-piercing meshes by Regan, and belt pouches and sporrans by Psymoniser.
Shop I, Add-On 2 contains Vanilla-friendly spiked boots, leggings, and bracers by Narcatas and a Robin Hood-type hat by Smite_Plight.
Shop II contains a Vampire Hunter D hat by Sisco, fedora by Mighty Joe Young, and top hat by Panda Pete and Smite Plight
Shop II, Kinky Add-On contains a pretty much painted-on bodysuit mesh by Sierrebrarc and a loincloth with no belt by Dereko.

http://www.mwmythicmods.com/ranger.htm
Scroll down to "Items and clothing."

http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=1671
You must obtain permission from Mainframe before using these.

Smoother Bodies Meshes

These were created for Smoother Bodies, which seems to be almost never used. Rarely, things will have vanilla compatible meshes as part of the package; these are marked with a [V*].

http://canadianice.ufrealms.net/Morrowind/NieroThin.html
Includes a genie outfit, some Ashlander hoods, a one-shoulder crop top, some boots with both high and low heel options, some strapped full-arm bracers, and a set of utility belts with an optional leg plate and transparent half-skirt. All are for females.

http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=2543
Best link that could be found for Niero's long, sleeveless dress model.

http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=2567 [V*]
A race mod, but includes some bracers, leggings, pauldrons, and a cape that needs racial scripting for the neck, plus some Bikini Armor for women.

This list is great! It is nice to see I'm not the only one trying to collect all the clothing meshes made for BB! I would have loved a list like that in 2005/2006! :foodndrink:

I hope I can help a bit...

First, I think the "FP_cape" mesh may have been made by Gorg. As for the cape Kat retextured in her mod, I think the mesh first appeared in MQB, and was originally made by Rhedd for Neverwinter Nights I (http://web.archive.org/web/20070815210158/home.wnm.net/~bgriff/NW_Cloaks.html)

Thanks for uploading Silaria's shoes to texnexus. What I did was physiquing and uvmapping them. If anyone wants to use them they simply have to credit Silaria (and myself if they want). The sandals mesh included in the archive was made entirely by myself though (not that I'm really proud of it :P), so if anyone wants to use the sandals they just have to credit me. The Saint Rilms shoe mesh is a vanilla mesh I bb-ized (?).
I also released a few BB pant meshes (http://www.elricm.com/nuke/html/index.php?name=Downloads&req=viewdownloaddetails&lid=4546! Thanks to whoever uploaded it for me at elricm! :) ).
I also have one or two boot meshes I never released, and that I am unlikely to use myself in a mod. I could finish them and upload them if you wanted.

The white heron's dress mesh is Sierre's I think, not Andyguy's.

Now, for more resources...

- Lord Altab made some boots in his mod "Lord Altab the trader". His site seems to be dead now though :( I will see if I have it and send it to you if I can.

- Darkloke made this other mod:
http://www.gamesas.com/redirect.php?site=http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail%26id=2995

- Dereko made a unique shoe mesh (very modern looking) available in one of Slof's goth shop mods (I'm not sure these shop mods are currently available though?). Btw, his sandals are also available in MQB I think. Slof goth shop mods also include other unique meshes made by Regan and other people, includeing belts, piercings, and wearable tats, and probably more.

- Silaria also released among her "unfinished meshes" Sauron's boots, which is a fully working mesh, and very unique looking. I used it in my Dragon rider's mod, and I believe Westly uses it as well in some of his armors.

-I am no sure the strappy high heels NioLiv made are available in her NioLiv's Harem Clothing Add-On; they may be only available in her House of Earthly Delights, Harem Style mod.

- The Sierre's Trader mod had a lot of interesting BB clothing meshes, unfortunately I am not sure it is still available somewhere. I could look on my HD, I am pretty sure I have the latest version he released (or at least the meshes). It included, from what I remember, catsuit meshes for both genders, various dresses and boots, and harem style clothing meshes.

- Gagatek released a lot of different boot meshes on rapidshare in 2007 or 2008, don't know where to find them now though. I don't have them myself...
Maybe someone else could help and reupload them. :) She also released piercings, and I think a witch hat on tesnexus.

- There is a satchel mesh for BB in Spirited's satchel mod on PES.

- Greybeard's Guarskin Clothing is a resource that is no longer available on the internet. Fortunately I still have the meshes, that I could send you if you're interested. I used two sandal meshes and a shirt mesh from it in my Crimson Wire mod.

And also...

http://www.gamesas.com/redirect.php?site=http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail%26id=2275 Very nice cloak mesh
http://www.gamesas.com/redirect.php?site=http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail%26id=5581 You'll find meshes to create new necklaces in this mod (meshes by Gorg and Qarl)

http://www.elderscrolls.com/redirect.php?site=http://vault.planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/clothes.htm >> I'm not sure if this one was made for BB2.2 or for an earlier version, so be careful.
http://www.elricm.com/mods.php?safe=216 >> Not sure that the download works for this one. This mod includes some very cool meshes made by Junkmail, such as a cape mesh, a sandals mesh which is alpha-enabled, a dress with a hood, etc. You'll have to ask Korana to get permission to use them though.
http://www.elricm.com/mods.php?safe=215 >> Not sure that the download works for this one. Uses a unique dress mesh made by Semtex and Actarus. Not sure if you have to ask someone before retexturing them.
Calislahn released a lot of good clothing mods in which you'll find some great meshes such as sandals made by Dereko, and armor meshes made by Regan, etc. Check http://www.calislahnsmods.co.uk/clothing.htm page.

Niero also made a hood mesh, you'll find retex of it in various mods, like this one:
http://www.gamesas.com/redirect.php?site=http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail%26id=2599

Lingarn made a mini skirt mesh for BB, you should find it in Qarl's Gothic attire :
http://www.gamesas.com/redirect.php?site=http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail%26id=5735

Couldn't find working links for those...
- Junkmail's Pants BB 2.0 >> very useful !
- Junkmail's Men's Heeled Boots
- Smite's Renaissance Clothing

That's all I could think of right now. Sorry for the messy post! I hope all the links are working and/or you didn't already post one or two of them.
In short, I would mostly recommend checking out the meshes from Korana's closet, Slof's goth shops and Sierre's trader. These three contain true jewels!
Also, I'm not sure "Durgoth's loincloths and tops" was ever released? If it were, I would very much like to get it for myself!
Oh, and I may have the BC Beta, not 100% sure. I'll send it your way if I find it.

Hope this post will be of some use to you! Keep up the great work!

Edit: tried to correct a few grammatical errors... :P

Thanks so much, Mandamus! I'll go and update the list entries.

Midge, I intend to write some texture tutorials myself, since I don't know where to find any that are specifically for clothing. I just haven't gotten around to it yet.

Probably a stupid question, but are these all actually modders' resources, or do some of them come with their own strings attached (in the form of permission policies, etc.)?

You're welcome! I'm glad to be of some help! :) As I said, such a list would have been a huge help for me if it had existed in 2005/06.

As a side note I am not sure a SB meshes list would be useful for many people, and the meshes made for SB may be hard to track down, I'm not sure it's really worth the effort. I know Niero made a few of the most popular clothing mods for SB, and I think CI made a few SB mods.

Lucien, I've made sure to look through all the readmes, and any models you need special permission to use have been labeled as such in this list (CanadianIce, etc). While there are other mods on the list that are not strictly resources in their own right, they have been linked because they contain resources that the authors used just as you and I would use them, and are only linked instead of the resources themselves because the resources in their original state have vanished.

Mandamus, if you think so few people would want Sierre's stuff, then I won't make finding it a priority - but if you do happen to know where any is, I do think it's worth posting.

By SB I meant Smoother Bodies, not Sierre's stuff, sorry for the confusion. :embarrass: Actually Sierre's meshes are really well done and I think they can be very useful (especially the catsuit meshes), and I will let you know if I find them on my hd. Again, sorry for the confusion!

I just remembered that there was a top hat mesh made by Smiteplight in the second Goth Shop and a Robin Hood hat in Slof's Robin Hood mod (not sure about the name of the mod). Are these meshes available anywhere for download now?

Also, perhaps this mod could be added to the list too, it has a few interesting mask meshes (some of the masks are retextures of Rhedd's meshes, but others are fully physiqued, brand new meshes made by Oriphier):

Is anything being done as far as body meshes/textures? The latest BB release was v2.2 and that was several years ago.

Mandamus: Ah, of course, then. Yeah, I wasn't really going to start doing anything with the SB post unless someone prodded me about it, since I so doubted anyone would care - it's really Just In Case.

For those mods without screenshots (particularly on PES), can you post some linked from the comments pages? :)

Oh! Thanks, Mystery - I think at least one of those meshes works on BB as well!

Great idea, Plangkye, lists are always a good thing around here. :goodjob:

NioLiv released a tight-sleeve male robe mesh, which I don't see on the BB list, but I'm not sure where it could be found.... I have it on my computer though.

boots, gloves that I believe also work on males (correct me if I'm wrong),

The boots and gloves will work on males, but you need to use alpha channels and make the texture 'short' because the glove mesh clips above the elbows and the boot mesh clips around the knee (I think) and higher.

It was a semi-request that someone had made and she released it in that thread..... that was some time back so I don't quite remember the details. I just happened to be viewing the tread at the time and grabbed it. I just now started a texture that I'm going to use on it. :ninja:

Where should I upload it to? I'm not signed on at ElricM, and I've never really uploaded someone elses work before.

normally when i have a texture request that im doing for someone i just stick it on a file share site real quick and pm the link that way its private and their personal request isnt down loaded by hundreds of ppl unless they want it to be.

and your quite welcome Plangkye ive only made a dent in all the sites ive been checking for them so ill keep my eye open for any others and pop the links in IF and when i find them not many out there for that body type.
