Wearing Clothes and Armor together

Post » Tue Dec 28, 2010 10:23 pm

Can we please bring back wearing clothes and armor together???? They made some seriously bad ass clothes in Oblivion, but who wears clothes when you can at least try making armor w/ the same perks and have an armor rating to go with it?? I'm just saying, if I have armor on I'm probably gonna want to try wearing some type of clothing under it (for enchantment AND chaffing purposes)

YES. Need this.

I really want my epic knights to look a bit less cold with their armor, too. I can see that they adjusted the style of most of the in-game armor to have fur lining and such, but why can't I add a freakin' robe like in Morrowind?

It's a bit overpowered to wear enchanted clothing and armor. There is also clipping issues. I prefer wearing cloths under robes or cloaks over armor.

YES. Emphatically. Plus it adds another element of customization for your characters looks, since armor doesn't always cover every part of your body it could matter what clothes you put underneath it

It (i say this once again) probably would add some immersion, say if, you could have some long johns or something (just an example >_>) like if you weren't a nord, (and nords still have frost immunity or whatever) and that item of clothing under your armor gave you, like, 90% frost resistance (though it could be some thing worn under clothing, IE, some undergarment type of clothing thing or something >_>) Since thats just an idea (possibly adding to your idea of "looking less cold" in a way...

I think it's possibly in the game from some of the stuff I've seen.

I freaking hope so. Don't get me wrong I love Oblivion, but they left some of the things I really loved about Morrowind out. The clothes and armor for one, but also I liked to be able to see what I had trapped in a soul gem and the NPC interaction was so much better in Morrowind. Seriously that wheel in Oblivion was one of the dumbest effing things they could have done. I miss being able to goad someone into a fight with me. Really I'm just super excited (like most TES fans) and hope we get the best of both worlds so I'm ranting. Oh and spears...I miss spears!

I prefer the armour to be over the clothing too, I would like this feature to return too.

Possible proof of Morrowind level of customization?

Look at the assassin. IT looks like he's wearing a sleeveless leather chest piece with what seems to be a shirt under neath it. But that's not what I have as proof.

Look at the female elf sitting down on the bar stool in the second picture. Look at her left arm. It seems like a pauldron, but it could be attached to the chest piece, right? Well, look at her other arm. It looks different. It doesn't seem to be protruding as much. Once again, it could just be the chest piece. But now look at the first picture. The tattooed elf looks as i he's wearing the same shoulder piece, with the chest looking a tad bit different and a lack of a shirt. What's definitely different is the armor on the right shoulder. It's sticking out and looks more like the one on his left arm.

Even if that's not true, the shoulder pieces look very similar, and the female elf has clothing underneath it, showing at least a possibility to wear clothing under armor.

Take this as you will, just some stuff to think about."

Looks plausible, it could well be that the design coincidentially looks like that, but it's possible.

Because it was overpowered to have some strong enchanted clothes and armor together.

Well yeah, the post was based more on pauldrons. The picture in the quote isn't the one I was talking about though. But It still has some proo there.

That may be but if I had a long, hard day of questing and monster killing all day and I happen to find a nice robe or pair of pants that would fit over or under my armor w/ out conflicting each other then dammit I shouldn't be denied ;)

That argument is so opinion based.

Yes.... But it would interfere with enchanting...... So make it so you can have a shirt and pants under a robe to.... Also make robes so you enchant them 3 times to equal someone who would wear armor...
