So Ulysses has special dialogue based on which faction you support. I've seen them all except Independent, which is the hardest to get because all factions have to dislike you. I want to get that dialogue but I don't want to go too far out of my way to metagame it- it's very hard to get negative rep on the Strip without straight up running into a casino and gunning everyone down, for example. So I had the idea that I'd wear some faction armour into Lonesome Road that would give me the desired reputation with all factions, but I can't find any info online on what armour affects which reputations in what ways.

I'm assuming Brotherhood armour will do the job- the NCR hates them, I'd imagine Legion does as well, and I can't imagine them having a decent reputation on the Strip- but are there any guides out there for what armour gives you what reputation or will I just have to test each one out in-game? If there's other armour which gives you just high NCR rep, or just high Strip rep (faction armour gives you no rep with that faction, right? ie if I wore NCR armour into Lonesome Road Ulysses wouldn't recognise me as being NCR aligned?) then that could be very handy for future Lonesome Road playthroughs.

Faction Armor moves you towards Neutral, even if your already Liked for the same faction, but only certain factions care about other factions. For the most part, the Strip and Freeside don't care about your Faction, they either want to be left alone or your money.

To get the Strip or Freeside to dislike you, you have to do things to them. Help the Omerta's with their Genocide and betray Joanne and that should get them to dislike you, if not return Cannibalism to the Lux. Freeside, you have to play the Kings quests from the NCR's point of view. Maybe get the addicts killed, things like that

Couldn't you also get it with neutral/zero rep? You would have to avoid the NCR & Legion, and not go to Caesar's Fort yet, I believe.
