Hi guys, and thanks for all your wonderful work, every update is like a Christmas present :)
Anyway, I just installed v0.9.9 with OBMM, and now, after closing an Oblivion gate, my game is stuck to Oblivion weather :(. Is there something I didn't do? I didn't use a clean save, was this required? v.0.9.8 worked flawlessly...

Yeah, I've got numerous reports about the weather being broken:

Right now I'm standing in the Temple district of the Imperial City and its....snowing?


1. Shivering Isles weather seems to be totally broken. The weather makes random sudden changes and some Cyrodiil weathers are appearing. Things worked fine in .98 so maybe something broke when you added the new config options for .99?

2. Oblivion gate weather now works like normal weathers with the indoor sync and so on (very cool btw) but sticks around even when you're not near an oblivion gate.

3. Oblivion gate weather persists long after you close a gate.


Everything was working perfectly for Arthmoor and I, it's a real bummer to say the least that it doesn't seem to work for you guys. Make sure you've done a clean save upgrade and are using OBSE v18 beta 6, and have rebuilt your Bashed Patch. Otherwise, here's my take on the bugs reported so far:

1. Oblivion gate weather staying after closing. I suppose this is possible, I never actually tested closing a gate, and the sudden disappearance may cause problems.

2. Snowing in IC. Literally impossible. I cannot see a single reason for this happening, unless OBSE itself is goofing up, which could be possible, though I'm hesitant to blame another mod.

3. SI getting Tamriel weathers. Again, literally impossible. Tamriel script does not execute in SI, and SI script only picks SI weathers.

4. SI weather sudden changes. Possible, I haven't checked SI weather for a while, but that's because I haven't changed anything in it for a while, and last time I did it was working fine

5. Oblivion weather sticking at distance from a gate. AN actually decreases the distance for the weather to change, so I don't really get how this could happen. I suppose it is possible though.

So yeah, if what you're experiencing is beyond the impossible, please post your OBSE log and load order. For reference, all testing I carried out was done using full AN with the all weather plugin and Bashed Patch, plus S&S and Better Cities, on loading a vanilla game.

Oooohh bummer. I tried a clean save, but my savegame won't load without the All Natural files. Another strange thing: I was in frostcrag spire when I used fw38eee and it suddenly looked as if I was outside (it was nighttime and turned interior light turned dark blue, instead of the normal yellowish interior light). Weird.
I'm using enhanced weather and real lights BTW. I have also deactivated weatherunsticker in streamline. I don't really see what other mod would cause interferences...

Oh, btw, the crash on load thing must be related to Real Lights, i remember I had the same problem when I tried to uninstall it last week (looking for more FPS).

My take on reported bugs:

1. I didn't test for actually going in and closing a gate to see what happens when you come out.

2. Back in the early days of AN I saw snow in the IC a lot. That stopped happening some time back around 0.8 for me, but I've seen at least one confirmed report from a user ( via my blog ) that it was indeed snowing in the IC.

3. It's been ages since I went to SI, but even in early testing SI never pulled Tamriel weathers. Since the SI weather script hasn't been touched since, I'd find that a bit iffy, but certainly can't rule it out.

4. No comment, as I haven't done enough testing there to know.

5. This one I tested a lot, and I mean a lot. My poor testing guy was all over Cyrodiil going from gate to gate and never once ran into an issue with it getting stuck in gate weather. Coming out of gate weather is a bit slow, but I adjusted for that in the ini to speed up the transitions.

Since 0.9.9 had at least some script work done in OBSE 0018b6, I'm going to have to go with making sure that version is in place while you're playing. My testing methods are probably crap, because I always test under full mod load. Then again, I think that's probably a good thing since we do need to know how it handles with various mods in play.

Yeah, it used to snow in IC everywhere, but then when OBSE v18 came around I put in regional restrictions to stop that. I think I got the report from the same person, they were using OBSE v18 beta 4, so perhaps that makes a difference, since the bug can only arise when the region check screws up, which only happens AFAIK when OBSE bugs up.

Your testing methods go nicely with mine - I test to make sure that it works on its own, and you test to make sure it works with a large number of commonly used mods. Together we should cover most bases. :)

Anyway, I'll have a look at the bug when closing Oblivion Gates later today.

Sorry to say, but the weather changing bug when you go in and out a door have not gone away.

The following SS have fog, cloudy, rain, clear sky and clear with rainbow (maybe from another mod...).

It's valid to say that I have just yesterday made a clean save before the upgrade (including upgrade for AWLSChimney and Better cities, so everything should be up to date).

The one bug that I thought should definitely been fixed by now is that. I've had no reports for months (besides the BC bug, which is fixed) that people were still experiencing it. Are you certain you're using OBSEv18 beta 6?

It would appear that codebox is now an actual code box, with syntax highlighting, but it no longer scrolls, which is why everyone used it. I don't know if there's any new options for a scrolling quote.

Fantastic. This release has turned out just brilliantly. A heap of problems, and no reasons why. :( I wouldn't mind there being bugs, if only they made sense, like the gate closing one does.

I can't think of anything that would help. The weather should plain not be changing like that, there's no reason for it to happen. Only thing I can think of is testing to see if it works without BC active. It shouldn't make a difference, but you might as well try it.

BBC and Storm&Sound out, still the same bug. Could be a chance that putting out one of the 3 weather mods help? Just chancing this one esp need clean save? (for quickness...)

edit: tried different combinations and isolated ones, no good. No clean save, if it matter.

On the bright side, all the problems I was having have literally gone away. I played for around 8 hours yesterday without any of the problems I was experiencing. When it rains it doesn't always storm, like it used to. I have not once left a building to different weather. The ONLY thing I have noticed ONCE was my previous mention of a short rain noise while still on the loading screen leaving a building. It was quiet this time, and hasn't happened since.

I'm impressed with the new update, and the updates to Chorrol, it feels more complete and fleshed out as a mod now. Really good job :).

Fantastic. This release has turned out just brilliantly. A heap of problems, and no reasons why. :( I wouldn't mind there being bugs, if only they made sense, like the gate closing one does.


The jury's not all in yet, friend :nope:... Don't go tearing it apart until you're sure something is really broken. On upgrade, weather scripts can be sticky at first ... I've found that fast-traveling sometimes will help them sort themselves out, where just going in and out of doors will not. This worked on one of my more stubborn games, at least--most of them worked fine--I'm still watching the weather, but it seems to be working.
And I've got to tell Brumbek that his new windows are awesome!:hehe:

Well I'm not sure what to say about the indoor/outdoor weather switching. There has to be something else interfering because that's definitely not happening for me. Since S&S is involved in that situation, please make sure you're using the one for OBSE and not the plain one.

Yeah, I'm a bit too busy ATM to do anything about it anyway. Spent most of today surfing the web and am now trying to get all the work I need in for tommorrow done. :P

Sorry for (now it looks) precipited bad news.

The bug was just after the upgrade, and in the absence of feedback tried to help.

Now 2 dungeons later, tried to replicate the problem and no go. Everything fixed. Only going to the old problematic save to have the problem again. It's in exact pos upgrade city (cheidinhal). Going out the city and in again fix the bug. Using fast travel to another city too. So... you guess it.

To help, I can (tomorrow) follow directions to track what happen in the beckground script... or just leave as a warnig for possibbe problem in upgrade.

And berore I forgot... I really bow down to this very time consuming great work of yours, just brilhant!

I've noticed this for as long as I can remember... I'm not sure if it's a bug, or just how it works... in the Shivering Isles, weather seems not to be synced through the world and the different parts of New Sheoth... I know that they're separate worldspaces, which is why I'm thinking it might be normal, but I wanted to make sure that nothing's wrong, since it is pretty annoying for it to be raining in Crucible and sunny in Bliss.

Unfortunately it doesn't work. Tried loading it normally and merged into a bashed patch. I'm also using Nacosto Isles and the patch for that if it makes any difference?

b. fw 38eee then waited for a few hours - Ob weather came back
B.loaded a game inside the last Ob gate i visited, closed it - Ob weather persistent, even with waiting/fast travel

2.Included in bashed patch
same tests as above- no results

Yeah I tried fw 38eee and sw 38eee for the record, fast travelled etc. Nothing worked. Went to Nacosto Isles and weather was normal there tho.

Nascosto is a separate worldspace and isn't under AN's control. The patch for that only changes Nascosto's own weather colors to match up better.
