[RELz] Weather: All Natural, Thread 30

It used to when the Enhanced Seasons component was still part of the mod. It doesn't need SE anymore though, and ES has been made a separate release.

I noticed that the ScreenEffects page list this mod as making use of it. However, I don't see SE as a requirement in W:AN. Does W:AN use SE at all?

Not since 0.9.6. That's referring to the Enhanced Seasons functionality that was present but is now a separate mod, which also no longer needs SE.

EDIT: Dammit, I got ninja'd. How embarrassing...

Greetings friends, so I figured I better stop spending all my time in the Mojave Wasteland and do some work...so Mania is now done. http://www.4shared.com/file/CM8u4I5N/AllNatural-1-1_ManiaAddon-v1.html

http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/jj317/Brumbek/All%20Natural%20Oblivion%20Mod/AN-Mania02.jpg

It turned out pretty well I think. One down side was I had to delete the pretty sunbeams that Bethesda placed in "The Missing Pauldron" because they caused the highly annoying transparent through transparent bug...ah well...

I tested most interiors and didn't find any cracks or errors, but let me know it you find any. Thank you, resume.

I'm still getting instant weather transitions now and then, but I can't attribute them all to the ent-killing feature of MMM. A couple of pertinent examples:

I was walking from Bravil to the IC (on the MG recommendation quest). It was lightly raining as I left Bravil, but it had stopped and turned into a nice sunny day before I'd reached the county border (I'm using UL: Bravil Barrowfields - in fact, all the released ULs - if that's relevant). As I passed across the border, it immediately changed to heavy rain. This rain eased off fairly rapidly, and it was back to being sunny by the time I reached the Inn of Ill Omen. Whereupon it instantly changed to heavy rain again. Once more, this rain quickly eased off, and it was sunny by the time I got to Pell's Gate. Where it changed to heavy rain again, which as before eased off and returned to being sunny by the time I had crossed Lake Rumare to the Waterfront district. But as soon as I entered the IC, it immediately started raining again - not heavily, but much as it had been doing when I left Bravil.

After finishing off in Bravil, I returned to the IC and decided to head to Cheydinhal. The weather was overcast and drizzly as I did a spot of shopping before leaving, and it remained so until I approached Barren Cave. Then, it instantly transitioned to sunny and clear - well, I say 'instantly', but what actually happened was it suddenly stopped raining and the light changed, with the mountains in the distance appearing with a blue sheen, then a second or two later, the sky changed from overcast to clear.

Weird. Are you using OBSE v0019b, it could be that the initial releases of v0019 having broken the arrays messed up your weather. Try making a clean save with 19b and see if you can replicate it. If you can, I'll have to take a look, because that should definitely not be happening.

Hi AN Team,

Thanks to your work, thunderstorms in Oblivion are now a stunning visual experience..

For your next release, can you consider increasing the rain and some thunders' audio volume to make them more impactful?

That would be great, cheers :)

I found these a while ago (I think it was while looking through a list of recommendations Psymon had somewhere), he said he preferred them to Storms and Sounds mod ... so gave them a go

If using BAIN just pack them up as an installer ... http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=OblivionMods.Detail&id=4400

They make you jump sometimes :), I have had them installed for ages (at one time overwriting the same files from Storms and Sounds mod when I had that installed) and a lightning storm still surprises me sometimes, the sound of rain is just right IMHO

Edit: Although, my old ears may not be the best for recommending these things as noted below :)

They used to be louder, but so many people complained about them being too loud...

Funny, I can't stand how the rain sounds with that mod, it sounds like every drop is hitting a leaf hard, or something like that. Unless you're in the middle of the dense forest, it doesn't make much sense to me...

EDIT: @ Brumbek: Is your plugin supposed to have any edits to anything apart from statics? It changes a bunch of other stuff too.

Lol guess sometimes it's impossible to make everyone happy :)

Wrinkly any way to download those older louder files? I've looked around and AN 1.1 seems the only version available..

Any oblivion.ini tweaks to tone down the brightness of the indoor candle light next to the vendors (especially Edger Discount Spells (yeah, I shop there) in IC) added by Real Lights part of AN?

The file volumes didn't change IIRC, but the Static Attenuation in their corresponding sound entries in the All Natural Base.esm was increased, so you can try decreasing that for all the NIW sounds.

Those extra edits appear to be necessary and relate to the deletion of the light beams, although the script edit probably shouldn't be done since the activator itself is no longer present in the cell and it won't be called up.

Hi,

Whenever I enable All_Natural.esp, there is no interior cells. As soon as I walk in I fall into the floor and keep popping back up in an endless loop. I know its just the esp file because enabling the .esm doesn't mess it up. As far as I know my load order is correct as well. I would love to get this mod working!

Thanks

I've also had instant weather transitions wit AN 1.1 and OBSE 19b... Most recently, I had the weather consistently go to heavy fog. It appeared that the fog would dissipate... then pop right back into existence. I also had this issue with rain, as was described a few posts ago. I did do a clean save, but it didn't seem to help.

If there's anything I can do to help with this, let me know... it's annoying to have weather patterns inspired by Sheogorath himself :)

Right, when I deleted the light beams it gave me a scary message about how this would detach some scripts or stuff and maybe cause total failure of all life...I was going to ask Arthmoor but figured he'd spot it and tell me if it was done incorrectly anyway...so good work Arthmoor! Um, I still don't understand it all, but yeah, only the actual light beam should be deleted in case some other mod added those light beams, right?

Yes, and I've already taken care of that during the merge into the AN-SI plugin file. Your change to the AI pack was of course spot on since the target would no longer exist.

+1 confirmation of weather problems.

Specifically, the indoor/outdoor syncronization has been broken somehow. Almost certainly after upgrading to OBSE 0019b as I had not noticed anything wrong with it prior to this.

Sync is lost to the point of even getting rain falling indoors if it picks a rain weather.

Clean save had no effect, the results after reactivating on the cleaned save are the same. I hope that array corruption issue didn't leave any lasting issues in place because I can't revert backward to OBSE 0018 either. Too much stuff is already dependent on it.

Also -1 for increasing storm sounds. They're already pretty loud as it is and tend to drown out all but combat sounds.

Yes, I've upgraded to 19b. I haven't clean-saved since upgrading, though. I might try that when I come back (I'm away for a few days from today), or I might start a new game (I'm like that :whistling: ).

I've also had instant weather transitions wit AN 1.1 and OBSE 19b... Most recently, I had the weather consistently go to heavy fog. That's exactly the kind of behaviour I was getting on the journey from Bravil - the rain would stop gradually, then immediately restart on (I presume) cell change. It's almost as if the transition is backwards - you know, like it was trying to transition from sunny to rainy, but doing the transition in reverse, from rainy to sunny, then thinking 'hang on, it should be raining'.

For your next release, can you consider increasing the rain and some thunders' audio volume to make them more impactful?

Please don't make them louder - it's hard enough to hear anything else during a thunderstorm as it is.

I have FormID finder installed plus it's changed error marker. I recently have installed AN 1.1 being an update from 0.98 I was using earlier. It's a great mod and everything's fine...

...but I do get the big yellow "WTF" sign in 2 of the IC shops, namely inside Stonewall Shields and Best Defense. The issue appears to be related to a missing mesh from meshes/allnatural/architecture..... the name is "ICGroundfloor09.nif" that appears to be missing as per FormID Finder??

Can this be or do I have a somewhat bugged installation?

EDIT:

http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d191/haegint/Oblivion/_Oblivion2010-11-1921-56-23-87.jpg

I checked: The All Natural.BSA is present in my /Data/ folder and looking into it with OBMM I can see that this particular .NIF file is in there in the right location... so I'm really confused what could be the problem here... any hints very welcome, thank you!

Well, I think this serves as sufficient confirmation. :P

Unfortunately, I can almost certainly say that I won't have time to do any modding until the weekend, but this'll be a priority for when I do. Luckily I have a backup of 1.0, so it should be a fairly simple matter of comparing changes and then working out which one broke things, and then figuring out how to fix it.
