[RELz] Weather: All Natural, Thread 34

Post » Wed Mar 30, 2011 4:09 am

I've got a really bad case of stuck Oblivion weather going on right now. I closed a gate properly and the weather has been stuck since I did. I ran past the Chorrol gate on Shadowmere and that started it. I continued down the road past Weynon Priory and closed the gate between Fort Ash and Fort Nikel - just off the road to the south. After closing the gate, I continued along the road, past the Imperial City. I'm now on my way to Skingrad and it's still got a full blown Oblivion storm going on. I can't see a darned thing. Actually, on a funny side note, I got confirmation it's just as dark for the NPC's. I managed to make out a bandit in the distance, so I ran (on foot) up to the area where he was chasing a deer. He prowled past me, saying "where are you?". I was just standing there - not sneaking. I answered him with a lightning ball to the back of the head.

Anyway to repeat what I posted earlier, I am running The Vyper's Gate Closer mod. If I force the weather to clear and continue riding to Skingrad, will it clear when I enter a building or reset back to a blazing storm? I'm running OCR so I don't think entering the city will affect it. Is there anyway to get the Oblivion weather to stop?

Oh, and also, I had a rather strange occurrence with my last Oblivion Gate closure, where the weather did switch back to clear, but AN chose, of all things, an Oblivion Storm cloud layer. This caused a very garish effect of having black-and-red clouds mixed with bright blue fogging and it made the world look very strange indeed.

I did manage to fix it by going inside for a second, but that was a major WTF moment for me.

I've released V2 of the Oblivion Gate Closer Spell and it fixes the issue it caused with the Oblivion weather. One of the things that hindered my testing was the fact that I had Oblivion's timescale set to 1 (the default is 30). This made weather transitions take a very long time.

So, if anybody using AN has their timescale set to something below 30, it may (emphasis on 'may') cause some interference with AN's weather setup.
