[WIPz/RELz] Weather: All Natural, Thread 17

Post » Sat Nov 14, 2009 9:31 pm

It does not have anything to do with HDR, at leats not for me, as I'm not using any screen effects. I have never noticed it before and as I said, after another exterior-interior-exterior transition it was gone, the fog looked like (I think) it should thereafter. I also think the problem isn't that the mountains are too white, but that the sky isn't white enough, I mean that there's no fog in the air. Therefore the contrast between the surroundings and the sky is too big and it looks weird

Bloodfrozen, are you using Streamsight by chance? I saw this effect the other day after I started using Streamsight. May or may not be related, but thought I would mention it.

I havn't used all natural yet, but i think i've gotten weird fog stuff like that with streamsight. I thought it was a bug with the streamfog setting or whatever so I removed it and havn't seen it since.

I'm sorry, but what you just posted made no sense to me. Could you be just a little clearer as to what the problem is?

.... almost ninjad by Wrinklyninja! :)

I think he means that he's a vampire and got singed in daylight when it was raining. I'll have to defer to vampire players on that one, I don't know if vanilla rain/snow/etc should do that or not.

You get sun damage even in vanilla rain. It happens in every vanilla weather, but to different degrees. For instance, Clear weather gives the most damage, but Thunderstorms give 1/10th of this.

It's to do with how much sunlight is blocked by cloud cover - but even at total cover there's still sunlight getting through, hence you're still getting burned.

Sorry, I like using a colorful language. It was raining outside, then I entered an inn and it was all sunny and shiny. If its possible to take damage as a vampire indoors when the interior weather effect is active, I dont know. I guess it would be a plus on the relative realism though ^^

Edit*: Forgot to add, I've done a good bit of updating lately, and when I did another eyeballin' through BOSS it said I should bash the actual weather mod I choose from All Natural if Im using overhauls. I just did this, and fixed a proper clean save. Im still digging through the compatability issues between some things, because its not that hard to miss something with 200+ mods @.@

You can't take sun damage indoors - that got kept as in vanilla, as otherwise you'd have to hang around in windowless houses or basemants during the day.

Which I think would be a whole lot better for RPing a vampire, but it would also change vampire gameplay to an extent that some people may not like it. I'd do it so that you get reduced damage inside though.

Perhaps a poll for the next thread is in order?

Reading does have its pros. With the clean save it seems to be all good, sorry for the fuss :o (been reading readmes for 5-6 hours the past 3 days).

My skydomes are purple (texture-less). Why? I'm pretty sure the BSA is loading, but the textures are vanilla anyway, I think. Any ideas? I'm referring to the skydome in the cell you start the game at. I've only seen it starry once; I haven't seen it since. Now it's just purple.

EDIT: Nevermind. I found out what was wrong. Vibrant Textures' Weather replacers actually caused all my weather textures to go missing somehow. I removed it for now and AN is working. Now, I gotta see what's wrong with the Vibrant Weather Textures.

I uploaded a fix to the Nexus page for the purple skydomes. It seems to only manifest when using Vibrant Textures, but in any case the fix is there.

I am aware of the problem, and will try and get this corrected has soon has I can. I know what the problem is the alpha channel information is not correct for the textures.

For now using the fix that is provided will work..Till I get the New update posted..

i would love to use this mod as its been recomended to me by quite a few ppl and various sites. but im having a bit of a time trying to determine which options i should choose
i read the read me but it wasnt as clear as some on the various choice combinations. i use BASH to install my mods and the options i get are as follows
00 core
01 real lights
02 atmospheric weather systems
02 enhanced weather
02 EW+AWS
02 EW+NW
02 EW+NW+AWS
02 Natural weather
03 bash filter for various mods
04 Real lights - the ayleid steps patch
05 Nascosto isles weather patch
06 Kavatch rebuilt patch
07 gates to asgard 2 patch

im aware that i only need to use the patch which applys to any mods which i may have that the patch may effect which is none at this time

i realize that i need the core and id like real lights so im clear on that however which one of the 02 options should i use
if i want the best possible variety and effects.

i am also not real clear on what 03 is nor do i understand the bash patched part of the read me instructions
as i only have about 4 mods installed so far i have yet to understand or use that part of bash. any help would be appreciated .

For most variety use EW+NW+AWS- the weathers form all these mods will be included in the mix.

Don't worry about #3... it may be of use to you once you have more mods installed.

You need to read the Wrye Bash readme to learn about Bash Patches (sounds like you aren't using one). Simply, go to Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion\Mopy\Extras and find Bashed Patch, 0.esp->edit: use the Blank.esp<-, put that in your data folder, then when you open Bash you will see it in the mod list. Then follow the instructions in the AN readme:
Run Wrye Bash.
Locate the Bashed patch.esp on the Mods tab (it should be at the bottom).
Right click on it and select "Rebuild Patch".
Check the box that says Import Cells and left click on the words Import Cells.
Check the box next to All Natural.esp.

Once you give it a try , there's a good chance it will become clear.

Even with your small # of mods http://www.gamesas.com/bgsforums/index.php?showtopic=1053941 will help sort out things like Bash tags for you.
Hope this helps! :)

yes thank you i shal try that .Bash patch is already desplaying in my mod list. i do have BOSS put it in this am. used it already . dont get me wrong i wasnt asking about the bash patched becuase i was to lazy to read ive read both the bash documentation and the read me that came with all natural . i was asking becuase it was un clear to me WHY im doing it. i guess im one of those ppl who when is told to do something likes to know the reason for it . however becuase you were kind enough to tell me how i will try to comply without reasoning.

Well, wrinklyninja or Arthmoor would give a better explanation, but ,AFAIK, you need to import cells in order for Real lights and indoor weather sounds to be applied to all the thousands of cells throughout the game, and Wrye Bash does this more efficiently and with no chance of conflicts than, say, a modder applying it all by hand.

Edit: On second thought, this is probably fairly inaccurate :embarrass: ... I know the creators did spend a enormous amount of time actually placing things by hand. The real reason for using Wrye Bash seems to primarily have to do with compatibility.
AN readme:
Do I *really* need Wrye Bash?

For most users, yes you really need Wrye Bash. If you only run maybe five mods, then it's possible you won't have any problems without Wrye Bash. However, most users run many mods and therefore you should install Wrye Bash. There's plenty of help out there about how to get Wrye Bash up and running. Wrye Bash also has many very essential functions for all Oblivion users. Get it now.

Wrye Bash is not needed because of Real Lights. It's needed because of the climate settings in All Natural.esp. In a large mod list, failing to set the import cells will result in the indoor weather effects not working because other things will tend to cancel out the changes. A very small mod list probably won't have issue with it.

so then for the sake of doing something that may or not be necessary at this time. are you saything that perhaps it woud be best to wait untll ive actually added a sufficent amount of mods to my list that are actualy going to alter cells. i mean right now all i have basically is QTP3 hgec body and animated windows thats pretty much it so far , other then ofc all the offical and non official mods and patches obse and stuff like that oh yeah and COBL

its just from reading the read me i was under the impression that all natural wouldnt work period if i didnt use the bash patch. but while im still in the process of adding mods id hate to keep un building and rebuilding the patch untill necessary

Heads up here:

I just (finally) released the standalone version of http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=27972. A small, quiet release, but then it's not something that needs shouting from the rooftops. Once I flesh it out a bit more though, I'll open up it's own thread...

As it is now, it contains the same features as it did when bundled with AN, but no longer requires ScreenEffects. It does, however, require OBSE, and it's effect changing feature requires OBGE, which is included.

EDIT: And now to figure out how to fit it in my sig... :brokencomputer: Not as neat as before but oh well.

Thanks, downloading now

Quick question though, this can still be used together with screeneffects, right? I still use Ambient dungeons.

Also, with the new version of All natural, there is no need anymore for Enhanced weather to be installed, is there?

Hello,
First of all, I love this mod, use it since the 0.93 or 0.94 version and can't play with it anymore! Great work, folks!

But I have a problem : lately, on a fresh install of Oblivion, the game freezes when the weather changes and I have to ctrl-alt-del to exit...

I made sure I met the requirements and had installed everything that was necessary, according to the readme file. Which is the case. I use streamline, so I made sure the Purgeontravel and weatherUnsticker parameters were set on the correct settings for All Natural. I even disabled Streamline and the problem is still there.

I made sure I had no other weather/lighting mods installed, except from Storms and Sounds.

More specifically, what i find strange is the way it happens : I'm in the Arena district of the IC and when i go to the Market, it rains there and the game freezes. But more surprising, the weather is clear in the Arena district, I take a couple of steps towards another gate to another district (not the Market one) and then, after maybe 10 meters (in-game) the weather suddently changes to rain like it was already raining since a long time and after 2 seconds the game freezes...

Do you know where the problem comes from and how to fix it?

That sounds an awful lot like what happens when you're using the wrong version of OBSE. Make absolutely sure you're using 0018b3 or higher.

I use OBSE 0018b4 since it has been released, and i had double checked before installing All Natural, so unfortunately it might be something else... Just for my peace of mind, i'll check my install of OBSE, but i'm pretty sure it's working okay.
