And in returning to do some smaller testing ...

I realize that you cannot seem to only use the Real Lights portion of this because if you do then without the esm there will be missing meshes for things like candles and without the main esp then the sky will be all pink (learned this bit after updating CorePC textures and thinking I'd done something wrong like 4 times).

So no way to really test the Real Lights only option that thoroughly.

This is going to take a while to test all this out since the crashes do not happen right away but after about 7-10 cell transitions.

First see if I can find a more generic version of AN (as in only EW or AWS or NW) then if not it is definitely a mod conflict as I'm the only one here reporting this. Which means a lot of reloading and rebashing - a lot. very tedious testing protocol.

Hope I get lucky - if I even have the patience to carry it out.

@Psymon: Your issue is simple as pie. You're using Pluggy 91 which is a verified source of transition crashes. You need to upgrade that to whatever version is most recent since that problem was fixed. Something like 125 or 130. I don't keep track as none of the mods I use need Pluggy.

@Cogstar: Better Cities overrides a number of light placements in the cities. There's nothing we can do about that.

I am having the same exact problem as Psymon about crashing while transitioning between cells. . . I'm using Pluggy 125.

Also, I don't know if this is a feature of All Natural, but I'm having a problem when it is supposed to be the middle if the day and it would suddenly (looks like a weather transition) be pitched black. I mean I wouldn't be able to see past my torch light. . . it's even darker than the night. Here is my configuration, I hope you guys could point out what I'm doing wrong.

How funny - I was going to report the pitch black in the middle of the day problem too.

It occurred after updating CorePC textures twice on fast travel.

about pluggy ::sigh:: well I was using that version to avoid the transition crashes that I thought were only with the HUD versions above 120.

So for now testing the 132 version without using any hud mods. So thanks Arthmoor for that tip - let you know how it goes, so far so good.

the pitch black is weird there is no light at all. Then also opening my map to fast travel again and that does not work. I cant activate any markers.

I was having the pitch black problem even before I installed Vibrant Textures, even with QTP3. All I know is that it first appeared when I started messing with the configs.

Well clearly that can't be caused by AN then. There's absolutely no way in hell it can affect *EVERY* texture you have. If you're getting what you describe, you really need to start looking elsewhere for the cause.

That one with the sun in a pitch black sky, I've seen it before too. Usually right before the game sputters, chugs, chokes, and then dies due to memory leakage. Though on occasion manually issuing a pcb command from the console will keep things afloat long enough to reach an interior somewhere.

Im gettin a constant storm in SI, it has been going on for at least 4 days. No matter where I go in SI.

According to the debug ring the id is 0022B7 which is EWESEStorm2, the chance was at 1.00

The rain seems to keep going even when I force clear weather. It will stay clear for a few seconds and then go back to the storm. It also did this when going to palace without forcing weather. The palace weather as I entered would be clear and then change to stormy weather. This constant storm is becoming severely annoying.

OK uninstalled pluggy completely and played for several hours tonight and I'm still getting transition crashes with AN installed far more frequently than without.

If there is any info I can get - just let me know.

Obviously testing with AN alone should be soon on my list.

Just here to offer an apology. Turns out my problem with the pitch black rooms was because I left Let There Be Darkness active, when I should have just imported the cell data and then deactivated them.

Once I'd done that, the rooms were much darker than normal, but still had some visibility outside of the torch range.

Something weird is happening to my game: I've been using AN and Storms&Sounds for ages without any problem, and today suddenly it started raining inside interior cells. It started in Frostcrag Spire (Frostcrag Reborn version), then I teleported to the IC and it was raining in all the buildings I entered (one exception: the basemant of a house). I wanted to uninstall AN, and tried to follow the procedure: I set the weather to clear in the IC market then went inside a shop: pouring rain again, inside. I set it to clear again, then waited 24 hours: it started pouring inside the shop during the wait.

Has anyone encountered this before? What should I do?

Thanks for any suggestion.

You arn't using the old (unhacked) version of obge.dll are you? That caused transition crashed for me.

OK, I've been out of the loop for a while, so this is a summary post (of sorts) of all the outstanding issues people have reported:

- Transition crashes with AN installed.


I haven't a clue why this is happening to you. I can't thing why AN specifically would cause these crashes, it doesn't do anything extraordinary. I'm therefore tempted to chalk this one up to the flukyness of modded Oblivion. Perhaps in a year or so it shall be revealed that AN is doing something that increases chances of crashing (a la deleting objects), but until such a time, I don't think much can be done about it. :shrug:

It could be something to do with OBSE, have you checked it's log after the crashes?

- Tutorial dungeon too dark, making good facegen difficult.

Arthmoor's the Real Lights man, so this one's for him.

- Broken OMOD script, will not install SI plugin.

I'll add the fix for the next version of AN.

- Indoor weather not syncing with outdoor weather. (Cogstar)

This is because you're in Chorrol, which hasn't got interior support done yet.

- Pitch black in the middle of the day. (Psymon, MattysBoi)

I need example screenshots of this, a description is too vague.

- Black sky. (Cogstar)

Bug in engine, nothing we can do about it.

- Constant storm in SI. (Sandman53)

I've already noted I'll look into it. At some point.

- Shader looking a bit wierd in Enhanced Seasons. (Cogstar)

I too have an ATI HD 4xxx series card, so that's not it. I'll have a poke around.

- Raining indoors. (jansen)

This is because you haven't got import cells active in you're bashed patch, most probably.

I'll look at it later. I guess there's a reason Bethesda didn't make your cell realistically dark the way it should be since nobody is supposed to even be in there.

That does help. But it is worthy of note that the start - starting cell and end of starter dungeon - being dark is a bit of an issue for character building anyway. To be perfectly frank Bethesda would have been better to have a separate decently lit character building screen, rather than that of the place the character is in.

Hello, wrinklyninja, and thanks for your reply. Actually, I have imported the cells in my bashed patch. And it has always worked perfectly since the last AN update. But I've discovered something else: the weather is stuck to this storm. Outdoor, indoor, shivering isles, everywhere for two days, there has been only this storm. Strange. Is there a way to reset the weather ingame, or must I try the uninstall procedure?

I too have the pitch black bug... I will give screenies but now i can only give a description. I looks exatcly like Enhanced Nights kicking in midday. The NPCs dont get there torches out... because it's damn 10AM!

Where it says "IsForest? 1, Location Cave", is that current to when you took the screenshot or was that from earlier?

Is it possible You Are Here thinks you're in a cave and is adding a filter?
