Weather Mods and Fog

Post » Tue May 03, 2011 6:51 am

How can I eliminate fog? Not the distant fog, just the kind that is rapidly showing up and disappearing every few minutes.

I'm not sure how it started happening, but I've since removed Natural Weather, and tried other weather mods to see if that fixes it, but I'm still stuck in this weird rapidly appearing on/off dense fog weather. I use Streamline, is that the culprit? I've been using that for awhile, and only today did the weather freak out. I've tried playing with that disabled anyways.

I could actually go with just having no fog in the weather, it makes my SSAO look bad anyways. I'm using one of the settings in the OBGE thread, it looks fantastic- I can't not use it even if the fog makes it look odd.

Sounds like Streamline's Streamsight feature. You can always turn it off in the Streamline ini.

I have Streamline disabled, deleted the Streamline folder, and weather mods are disabled. The weather patterns are still broken (e.g. heavy rainstorms sweep in in a second, then quickly goes back to clear weather).

The worst is the fog- within a second the weather turns to thick fog, like in Morrowind if the view distance slider is set to minimum. It can happen at random, and it often happens when returning from resting. It goes away after awhile.

I'm really not sure how to debug it or fix it, and it's bad enough that my game isn't playable outdoors.

You may have to look into the specific instructions on how to disable Streamline and your weather mods. Some of them require special steps, not just disabling the ESPs.

You can also try deleting your INI file and letting the game generate a new one on startup.

I don't know if it applies, but you could do a save with clear weather. Type "fw 38eee" in the console, save your game, exit, then reload the new save. Ideally you'd want to do this when uninstalling the weather mod(s), I don't know if maybe because it wasn't handled correctly initially it could just be broke'd and stuck, it's possible doing a clear save doesn't help, but it's worth a shot just to see what happens.
