All of those sales combined is no where NEAR the sales of Call of Duty. Cevat said he wanted sales near Call of Duty sale numbers. If that happens then there'll definately be a Crysis 3, BUT.....Crysis 2 hasn't done as well as he expected. Thing is that's WAYYYYYY to high of expectations Cevat had. If Bad Company 2, which is more popular that Crysis, couldn't do it, or ****, even HALO, then Crysis 2 can't. It's not because it svcks, its because of the low popularity.

The game is new on the consoles, so it's no surprise. It doesn't have any of the hype the COD franchise has behind it. However on the PC it does look damn good, more akin to MW2. There was a peak of about 140k players in MW2 multiplayer, a few thousands more in singleplayer. With 100k of sales without accounting steam and quite probably other websites, it looks like it's on par.

700.000 (give and take) copies sold within the first week is not a bad feat at all!

We had a poll about how Crysis 2 players had bought the game.

Turned out that about 50% bought the disk, and 50% download. So I'd say the PC version probably sold about 200,000 with retail and digital combined. And then there's about another 200,000 who just torrented the game, but they probably wouldn't have bought the game anyway, if they couldn't download it for free.

yeah yeah... can anyone tell me if this statistic included number of refunds and returns of this buggy, dongraded piece of beta crap?

So you can no count about 100 000 of cheated customers who returned this crap to stores, and you also should not no count sales of returned games to second hands, so its about -200 000))

I just did not took refund because im lazy and its easier for me to throw this game to window, than go to store... if only i could be smart enough to download this unfinished dumbed down game from torrents, instead of paying $60 (big mistake(( )) i would be asking to take refund for download\upload traffic spent for DLing Crysis 2))

The original Crysis had poor sales at the start, but since then reached 3 million.
More than what we are seeing now hahah. I hope this game sells badly, Crytek deserve it.

700.000 (give and take) copies sold within the first week is not a bad feat at all!

Crytek want to sell 6 million and a 90+ metacritic rating.
At the moment, it's at 86, so hopefully that goes down and the sales die fast as console gaming is just a big hype driven peice of crap.

I've played with a couple guys on PC MP who came over from XBOX.

I believe alot of XBOX players who fall in-love with CRYSIS 2 will wanna see it in all it's glory and come over to PC in droves. They all say how awsome they think it looks on console and how fun MP is, the draw is to see it look EVEN BETTER than on their Xboxs.

That outlines in my personal opinion a very positive aspect of CRYSIS 2 being multiplatform. -> Drawing Consolers over to PC.

I'd also like to say a big "GO **** YOURSELF!" to the people bashing CRYSIS 2 and CRYTEK - I've been playin FPS since Wolfenstien and I was a part of the original CRYSIS BETA - I personally discovered how to get DX10 shaders running in DX9 during the beta and followed CRYSIS development for years before initial release. That being said I believe I have the right to knock CRYSIS 2 myself but I can't fault it. If it were my own franchise I'd have done exactly this with it.

Let's bnot forget how everyone complained about performance of the original CRYSIS and further - How everyone bashed on the story.

This time round it's bashing on "ITS NOT THE NEXT GREAT BENCHMARK!" and "OMG A BUG!"

SO GO **** YERSELVES NAY SAYERS! Atleast CRYSIS 2 is gonna draw in new players to the PC GAMING community and perhaps generate the finances for CRYTEK to further create a new gaming benchmark.

ah draw players into pc gaming? this wont be the game to do it unfortunately. its going to be battlefied 3 this year from the looks of it. DICE will want to avoid what mistakes crysis 2 did (when compared to the awesomer crysis 1 which got better critic ratings) if they are clever

BF3 hasn't happened yet.

CRYSIS 2 is happening now and like I said, I've played with guys who've already come over from XBOX. It's been what, a week? So yea it is bringing players over.

Maybe BF3 will bring more, it dun matter. What matters is people should look on the bright side instead of acting like a bunch of spoiled **** brat biches.

They're low because the game svcks, and that's that. The people that pirate are the people that never buy games anyways unless they really like the ones they pirate. Essentially, they're not even part of the market nowadays.

Isn't it worrying how the metacritic rating is at 86, Journalism -1 marketing & influence +10.

Conclusion metacritic rating isn't worth anything, bring on open source gaming.

I like playing on my PC that I built with my own keyboard and mouse that I'm so used to.
For me it's just playing the game while seeing how much performance I can squeeze out of my machine.

I'm sure that's why people still play games on PC.

Didn't Crysis 2 reach top sales in Europe or something?
