Weird animation issue after many years!

Post » Wed Sep 09, 2009 8:20 am

System Setup: -

Intel Quad Core CPU (overclocked but no issues)
4GB RAM
GeForce GTX260 Graphics
Win7 64bit Ultimate

All has been working fine over various PCs for years. I installed Shivering Isles and Knights of the Nine (and associated other add-ons) some months ago and everything has been fine since. However just recently (last week) the game still runs fine but when I get to an animated object such as a gate or door opening it takes 15-20 sec to open. I can still move around whilst its opening etc. It appears to be an issue with animated objects as fires and butterflies suffer the same. It doesn't cause any other issues and I can still do everything in the game but it's a bit strange!

I'm perplexed. Any ideas?

Thanks,

Tony

Sounds like the Animation bug, otherwise known as "Abomb". http://wryebash.netai.net/ has a function that can potentially fix it, just read up about it here, http://wryebash.netai.net/#RepairAbomb. Good luck.

You can read up on it entirely here and there are other fixes other than Wrye as well:

All sorted now, the saved games contained the offending Hex value.

Thanks again.
