Weird audio issue

Post » Fri Nov 27, 2015 3:24 pm

So far every time I try to play Fallout 4, after about 5 mins into it, sound effects cut out then shortly after that the game freezes for about a min or two. When it unfreezes, the sound effects come back but I hear everything I did when it went out. I shoot but don't hear it. It comes back and I hear each shot. It does this constantly. I've updated every driver multiple times, deleted the game and reinstalled it twice now. I'm at the loss on what to do, please help me to get onto enjoying this game! Fx 8350 Nvidia gtx 970 8gig ram windows 10.

glad someone else is having this same issue. It's very frustrating when it runs smooth as butter then that happens. Really hope there's a fix for it. Can't seem to find anything tho.

Yeah, I can't seem to find anything on fixing sound issues except for reinstalling drivers, which I've done so many times already.

Having the same issues as well, i have the same specs as OP except 16GB of RAM, which is kinda scaring me, if you look at the processor, it is not overheating, the memory does not spike as far as i can tell (hard to since it is a full system freeze) but the disk starts running at max, i found that running compatibility mode for windows 8 give you an extra 5 minutes of play, but that is about it. :nope:

Never thought about using compatibility mode, guess it doesn't work tho. Man, they really need to fix this. Haven't been able to really play it yet and it's so damn frustrating!

I did the same as another thread. go to where your game is stored in steam on your puter mine is d;\games\steam\steamapps\common\fallout4

then go to _commonredist

then direct x

then jun2010

then look for a application DXSETUP

run that and redo that

(note: You may have to do it a second time if the first fails)

It fixed all my problems I was having with audio>

Again this is not my fix it was from another thread and it worked great (for me and him anyway)

I have this problem too! After 5-10 minutes of playing the game the audio will cut out for me completely but every 3ish seconds I hear an extremely fast blip of audio, like a milisecond of it. And basically my game will stay like that until I restart it, or it will freeze after a few minutes of no audio and then unfreeze with audio back on. Idk if it's the game or my CPU being overwhelmed or what. It's super annoying though, totally ruins the game.

Tried it just now. It allowed me to play a little while longer, maybe 30 mins but then it started to do it again. This is seriously annoying. I have the next 4 days off from work and can't even play the game...

I had this same exact problem and searched everywhere and tryed everything i could find to fix it, nothing worked. Dont know if it'll work for you or not but i have Avast antivirus so if you have it as well maybe give this a shot. Right click your Avast icon and disable sheilds until restart or how ever long you want and give it a shot. Hope this works, good luck. Also made this account just to attempt to help you guys out.

Well so far so good, disabling avast was the key I guess. Been an hour so far and no freezes.

I had the same crash as the OP and I also used Avast. I uninstall Avast and after 45 min of playing no freezes.
