Hey, a city's a city, eh wot?
...Well, unless that city is hell. Which does not sound very pleasant.
Pennywise used to terrify me as a kid. I still don't know what my parents were thinking by letting me watch IT.
Also, fun facts: I didn't realize that was Tim Curry until about... three weeks ago.
Yeah. I'm slow.

Wow, you and Defaulted sound like Randolph Carter. Are you sure you don't go to Kadath in your sleep?

...Kadath has [censored] modernized, man. Midpoint, according to Metro, has railguns.

Nothing I've visited so far has had railguns, but there were energy weapons in certain places...

So someone brought plasma cannons to the dreamlands and left the real world out of the loop?

OK, so like, I was watching Fetch! with Ruff Ruffman the other day and the kids had to make a projectile weapon. Well, like, one pair made a great plunger/pop gun that impacted a force plate with 34N.

Now, that night I had a dream that I was on a water ride with about 20 others in one barge-like thing in the state's famous tourist trap. All of a sudden this asassin comes around with the same pop gun and tries to kill me! Yes, a 2.5 piece of PVC pipe that shot a super ball at me  I was able to fend him off by essentially jousting him with a pool cue from my raft and he plopped off his jet ski into the water. :poke:

Then I woke up and went pee....and wasn't able to restart the dream

It was really wierd trying to figure out how that pop gun got there in my dream, but I really love how fragmants of the day's events weave into a dream

Hey, kids, you know what fun isn't?
Being ambushed by a group of people who apparently have decided to open up a can of blood feud on your ass, that's what!
Especially when these people decide they're going to trap you in an illusion, so that you'll be helpless to defend yourself as they stab you to death!
Oh yes, and then there's the fact that the illusion takes the shape of a nice, warm summer day on a terrace overlooking the beach... and your only companion is a very close friend; someone you haven't seen in years.
Sounds nice, right?
Wrong!
You haven't seen this friend of yours in years because he's dead! Better yet, you are directly responsible for his death! And now you're forced to scream into his face that you know this is a trick and he is not real, in order to break the illusion! What FUN we are having tonight!

(You finally force your way out of the illusion, to discover that you are kneeling on the pavement and are covered in about half a dozen superficial wounds- seems your body's been operating on autopilot in the absence of your mind. Lucky break, there.
Your opponents, once they realize that you are conscious again, are -alas-... nowhere near as fortunate.)

What..? I don't even...? O_o

Last night I had a dream I was a man looking after my family. We lived in a forrest with very tall trees that glittered, kind of like someone glued glitter on them to make tacky christmas decorations or something. :P My first task involved delivering a message but I had to cross a swamp to do so. I drowned. :P

I had a dream that I was controlling an AC-130 on MW2. But instead of playing on a map I was shooting the weapons at people in a Wal-Mart parcking lot. It was a random dream for sure.

Anyone else ever dream out an entire film? I've had movies played in my mind as I sleep, but they aren't ones I've already seen, they are almost completely original. Just inspirations from films here and there.

If anyone's interested, I'll write out the entire films plot-line in spoiler tags so it won't take up too much space.

Spoiler
Here's the background. It's the future, post apocalyptic, but not like Fallout. Its not as bad as Fallout, there are some major cities still intact, but not much else outside those cities.

Anyway, a few years ago scientists were developing a genetic enhancement formula that would make people much stronger, faster, smarter, etc. The only draw-back was, those people would then have to drink blood to sustain themselves, preferably human. The formula was worked on further until it was perfected. The perfect formula was then given to 10 soldiers to try out.

In all this time, the imperfect formula broke loose, and 50% of the worlds population was infected by this formula. The characteristics of this formula were that people became slightly stronger, and faster, but they almost completely lost their senses. They could speak, and reason, but were more on the animalistic side. They also had to drink blood to sustain themselves in large doses.

Now, the vampire/zombies (that's what they looked like in my dream) are roaming the Earth, trying to kill and eat the other 50% which are still normal humans. A lot of the humans were killed, but once killed, they aren't re-incarnated as zombies usually are. So only about 10% of Earths population is left alive as normal humans. They live in cities which are fully functioning, and they are independent of each other, and relatively safe. But they still are advised to go indoors after dark. Those 10 soldiers that were given the perfect formula survived as well, but the formula itself was destroyed in an accident. These soldiers now do whatever they wish, some of them turned evil, and reign as tyrants over a certain city, some of them are benevolent heroes, that stay and protect cities, but one was a rogue outcast that simply drifts along from place to place, confused, and lost. This was the main character. He didn't have a name in the dream, let's just call him Leon.

Leon is wandering around the world which is pretty much a wasteland when he stumbles across an unprotected settlement. He goes there and finds that the people there are being terrorized by the vampire/zombies so he kills them and saves this chick in government scientist uniform, who recognizes that Leon is one of the perfect soldiers. She asks him to come with her to a military base, and he reluctantly agrees. Once there, he realizes this girl was the presidents daughter who was out doing field research and wants to be treated equal to every other scientist, despite being the presidents daughter. In the base, the president and the head scientist explain to Leon that the only way to kill the armies of vampire/zombies is to build an army of perfect soldiers. To do this, they need to recreate the formula. There is a little bit of the formula in each perfect soldiers blood, but not enough to recreate it just with one of them. They need them all. Unfortunately, to do this, the soldiers sacrifice their life.

Leon then sets out to rally together the other perfect soldiers, a difficult task, but a necessary one. Before this, the presidents daughter kisses and "thanks" Leon for saving her. Leon leaves the base, and runs to the nearest city where he gathers information for weeks before finding one of the soldiers who lives as a hermit in a cave somewhere. He goes and convinces him, and together, they search for all the soldiers, some needing more convincing than the others, some need favors, and some needing to be forced. In this time, the presidents daughter finds out she is pregnant with Leons child.

Eventually, they all return to the base together but one of the evil tyrant soldiers betrays them and tries to escape, while fighting he is killed. All hope is now lost, as now there aren't enough soldiers to recreate the formula. Everyone is sad, and they decide for one last stand. The nine remaining soldiers will go out together and try to kill as many vampire/zombies possible. It is a suicide mission, but as vampire/zombies don't reproduce, once they're gone; they're gone for good.

They all leave and begin fighting for a long time, months. They are pushed back further and further during an epic battle sequence until they are at the gates of the military base. They quickly enter the base, sealing all the doors. During this, the presidents daughter is giving birth to a baby boy, Leons son. They find out, Leons son has the formula in his blood too! They finally have the ten soldiers they require. But Leon and the presidents daughter don't want to lose their child. After a tense scene, they decide to sacrifice their child for mankind, and recreate the formula with samples of their blood, killing them. With this, they quickly inject every regular soldier, and all the soldiers kill the vampire/zombies in a huge war scene.

Since there are so many super soldiers now, no one will try and take the upper hand on another, and everyone is kept in line. Humanity is saved, and everything is perfectly peaceful. Presidents daughter is very sad, but proud at the same time to have been involved in all this, and statues of the original ten soldiers are erected in every city.

The End.

Okay, I know it's incredibly long, but if I movie like that came out, I would love it. Do you guy see anything in it? Any movie it is similar too? Do you like it?

If you actually read all that, I love you. :P

Oh and yes, this all came to me in a single dream... I didn't make any of it up while I was awake, I swear.

Edit: Also, can anyone think up a title for this?

I once had a dream where, I was the guy who made WinRAR, and just got a lot of chicks.
Still after all these years don't know what the [censored] I was thinking before I went to bed. It was the only weird dream Ive ever had, other ones were stuff that was so realistic, until I knew in the dream that it was just a dream and wake up.

Short version: sometimes, my dreams are not nice.

Are they also incredibly detailed?

Warning, incredibly long dream ahead.

I woke up sitting on a chair, in a dark room, hearing low voices nearby. The room was lit oddly...the center where I sat was dark, but the corners were lit(but I didn't see any lightbulbs). There were other rooms to the right and left. Both also had a single chair in the center. I can tell the voices are coming from the right room.

I creep along two more room, that all like exactly like the one I was in, same chair, same odd lighting, and eventually find a group of people in a room with no chair and is fully lit but otherwise the same dimensions of the other. After a bit of listening in, I can tell they're in the same predicament, and all of them have been in this place for at least a day. I decide to enter the room and see if they know anymore. I also notice there's a door in this room, unlike the others, as I enter.

After very brief introductions, one of them recounts what's happened the past few days he's been here and what he's been told by others. Supposedly he's been here the longest out of all of us. Every night, we will hear instructions to go to one of the rooms and sit down. If more than one person is in one of the rooms, it seals shut and is flooded with some sort of gas that kills its occupants. If anyone stands up after they sit down the same will happen. The person who has been there the longest will have a panel open up in his or her room, and a gun will be in it.

That person has to go to another room and shoot anyone of his or her choosing. If he or she refuses, they will be sealed in whatever room they are in and gassed. After he or she finishes, he or she must return to the room they had picked and put the gun back in the panel then sit down again. Every room seals, and some sort of knockout gas floods every room. He doesn't know what happens after that, only that when everyone wakes up again, the body is gone and cleaned up after. Sometimes there's someone new in one of the vacant room.

There's also a room near the very end of the right that is safe from being killed for the night(provided they don't break the other rules). The very last room on the right has a glass window in it that seems to show a control room with cameras in every room, and that whoever is behind this is likely in there at night time. Also, every night, it seems one person is allowed to leave the building briefly through the door in this room. They find money and directions to a certain place in town. They need to go there, place an order(which will be on the directions note), pay for it, and return. The amount of money left in the room is exactly the cost of the order. Whoever is picked is also warned by our captor that if they do not return, the entire group will be killed, and he will be gone. Same thing if the cops show up.

So three people are able to be safe every night. Whoever has been there longest, whoever is in the next to farthest right room, and whoever is sent out for the night. Typically someone would be voted to be in the next to farthest right room, but the captor chose who would leave for the night.

I wouldn't believe it. I went to the door and found it locked tight. I went through the rooms on the left side and found a dead end eventually. The right side did end with a room with a window in it. Past the window was very dark, but there were indeed camera feeds showing each room, and what looked like the parking lot for the building. I was going to try breaking the glass with the chair from the previous room, but I was stopped by another of the group. He said that whoever it was keeping us here was still in that room somewhere. He'd seen him before just seemingly come out of nowhere.

We all gathered back in the well lit room. There was a water fountain in there that I hadn't really noticed before. I asked the oldest where they got food from. They didn't. The one before him had starved to death. Sometimes the one sent out was able to get something to eat if they were lucky enough on their trip, but he hadn't eaten since he arrived. I didn't have further time to think about it as the voice echoed throughout the rooms and prompted us to get to a room and sit down. And so we all did. The lights dimmed even further so that we could barely see what was going on. Someone was walking through the rooms, and it seemed like the "game" of his had started again.

Whoever it was eventually stopped at my chair. I felt the barrel of the gun press against the back of my head and braced myself(as if that would help). But the person pulls the gun away and leaves the room. This is what strikes me most even after the dream. I was expecting to be shot there(Usually in dreams when you expect something to happen your mind makes it happen), but I didn't... He walks off and eventually I hear a gunshot but I don't know who it was because I hear the voice again. He's chosen me to go get the order(I also get the feeling that he found what just happened amusing somehow), and directs me to the room with the extra door in it. It's open now and I walk through into a short hallway. There's a sort of bin that comes out from the wall that has the money and instructions. I exit from another door and am outside. I follow the directions and eventually realize I know this city. I used to live there.

I place the order and get a paper bag back. Before I make my way back to the building, I stop by an old neighbors house. He's not home, but I know what I'm looking for and where it is. He has a handgun in his house, which I conceal on my person. I make my way back to the building and enter inside, sticking the bag in the bin, which slides back into the wall. I open the other door and the voice tells me to wait there. Looks like I came back in time for another one of his "games". The lights are dark again and I can see the shooter in an adjacent room. I give him a look that he somehow understands and he starts moving back the other way.

I remember where the cameras in the rooms are situated and sneak to the far right room out of their path. I can see the figure through the mirror with an eerie grin on its dark face watching the camera feeds. I remove the handgun and level it at his head. The figure turns its head and I can see its glowing eyes as I pull the trigger and wake up.

I don't know how, but I was able to fall back asleep after this, and it continued for a brief bit after

I was outside now, with the rest of us that were trapped there. There were police, ambulances and news people outside. The dream didn't focus on this very much though as my perspective switched to the police checking the inside of the building instead. There were two looking over the control room the figure sat in. There was another door back there. They opened it to reveal two more darkish figures with glowing red eyes...and different body parts scattered around in blood.

I didn't fall back asleep after that.

On a different note, I dreamt a mixture of TF2 and L4D last night. Shootin zombies and thought "Hey these are easy to kill I should use the eyelander and gain extra health and speed", so I did. I think a tank showed up at some point but I don't remember this one very well. It was pretty silly for the most part.

my dreams are usually never nice metrophor.

this last dream started in a desert landscape...sort of. the ground was red, and there was a sort of a lake that i had seen, but it glowed red, and sometimes had lightning shoot from it. i was in this large, pyramid-like structure. the pyramid stood pretty tall compared to the area around it. to the north lied a large canyon, we could see straight through it from the "walls" of this pyramid, to the east lied the lake, the west and south were made of a large cliff. we had some structures built into the cliff, but one thing that really scared me was this large, diagonal collumn that came from our building, down to the area on the bottomn of the cliff. the pyramid structure was composed of a stone, but it had worn down from sand. i could look down and still see grooves in the rock, lines along these large pieces of stone. it looked like a circuit on a board. there were some pieces jutting out from the floor, I didnt have a clue what some of them were for, but one was obvious. the armor i was wearing was just like this building. i began to wander around in the area between the wall and the center structure. there were several hundred other people like me, some wearing capes, some wearing smaller suits, some were much bigger than me, wearing bigger suits. we began to hear this loud noise above us, out of the clouds came this massive piece of glowing stone, it got to the pyramid slowly, it didnt have any rockets on it or anything, it latched onto the center structure, as well as 4 points, each one one corner of the pyramid's wall. the circuits on the ground began to glow, they were all a beautiful shade of light blue. above them were their holograms, most in languages i didnt get, a coded writing that i sort began to make out involving 9 points, and lines connecting them together. turrets on the walls had holograms telling how much power was in their system, and how much they could spare. pieces came up out of the ground, some sensitive equipment, on the walls, and on the courtyard floor. pieces jutted out from the wall, and created a glowing wall of energy in the area between the wall and the ship. this was to be where we defended the fort. soldiers began to cheer, some started to dance, a larger soldier began to slowly dance, shouting in some mumbling language. some began to do backflips effortlessly in their armor. i began to think to my suits system, it began to play music through its headphones.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FyFW3sSqDdE

i unhooked my rifle from the side of my leg and ran to the wall. there were hundreds of things out there, alien monster with like 4 legs, wings, but no guns, they had spears. i pressed a panel on the wall and watched as lightning began to flow to my rifle, and to a piece in my gauntlet. my armor began to surge and i felt like i had so much energy, we all began firing. there was hardly any blood, but they made a heck of a pile. the pyramid began to glow brighter, and we watched energy surge out from the walls and throw the pile of corpses out a distance. we all started dancing and singing...

I had a dream the other night I was a soldier and was in Germany. A guy from my softball team was there too. We were spying on this parade that was going by and after it passed, we walked over to the street where there was a little girl building a snowman. We joined in playing in the snow when this guy walked up and started shouting at her. He was bashing her religion and what not, so I defended her and we got into a religion argument (leaving out the specifics for the forum rules). Eventually, I ended up winning and he backed up into the grass that was by the road and when he came out, he was a frog. He jumped into the street and got hit by a car.

I turned around to my friend and said "I don't know what to make of that, but I'll take it." They nodded but the girl still looked sad, so I said, "Who wants to get waffles?!" They smiled and we laughed. Then I woke up.

I dreamt I joined Weight Watchers, and was running on a treadmill while Gandalf whipped me and shouted, "Run!" Over and over again. It was very disturbing.

Hey, if we're talking about weird and unpleasant dreams, I've been to what is apparently Hell in my dreams. It's never nice.

In my dreams, Hell is always changing. But it's more of a state of mind. See, I've been in places where the sky rained blood, the skeletons of the dead rose up from the ground, and there were horned, red-skinned beasts running around. And I felt fine. It was OK there, for the most part. And I've been in places that are pretty much entirely scary and nothing more. That dream about the clown trying to murder me? That was scary, yeah.

That ain't hell in my dreams.

Yeah, Hell in my dreams can be the usual pit of fire. But it can also be a sweatshop where you are a child and you and other children are slowly worked to death but you never die, or it could be a place made incomprehensible. But what's always there is that the longer you stay there, the more you lose hope and empathy, and the less you understand as to why you're being punished. Be there long enough, and you're pretty much a sniveling animal being tortured continuously. If you can get out, you can revert back to normal. If not, this continues until you're pretty much turned into an invalid and integrated into the place. Over the course of various centuries. The creatures torturing you may look like humans, or they may look incomprehensible and Lovecraftian. They may be enjoying it, or may be doing it because they've got no other choice. They may or may not even have to touch you. Hell, they may not even be there. Usually, though, you can see other people being tortured. As you can imagine, usually, after dreaming about Hell for a few minutes, I wake right the [censored] up. Those are usually the only times when I don't want to go back to sleep to keep dreaming.

...Yeah, when I call a place hell and I'm not joking, I do not use the term lightly.

I once defeated the grim reaper in a fight. Instead of a skull, he had an easter island head for a face.

I don't dream much anymore, but as a kid I had dreams of war. Once, I was with two friends on a Iraqi building with two snipers and a couple boxes of ammo, it was weird, we were just shooting people, and it ended with a clown stabbing my friends and tackling me off a building and right before I hit the ground my mom woke me up for school, weird she had such good timing.... This is before I played Call of Duty or Fallout too.

Blood Cost

?

That's actually a good one.. But it would foreshadow the ending too much. Still, better than anything I could come up with. Im going to write the whole thing out as a book now. :P

Oh and, thanks for reading through all of it, I was almost sure it would just be ignored for being too long. :foodndrink:

We might as well call this 'Metrophor's Dreams,' considering how much of the previous thead revolved around her dream-city, Midpoint. :P

around her dream-city

her

Woah, woah, woah. Metrophor is a girl? I hate it when this happens. Now my whole mental image is ruined. How could you do this to me, Metrophor?

On topic: I don't dream. Or at least I never remember my dreams. I could probably make something up, if you wanted. For example: Last night I dreamed that Vinegar Ra came to me, and told me I was his Prophet. He then baptised me in vinegar, which turns out to be a horrible, horrible experience...

I stayed up pretty late a couple of nights ago, and hadn't slept properly for a few days, so I was pretty trippin' from the moment I hit the bunk. Dreams were strange that night, and one I had just before I woke up stood out; It was about TES V.

TES V had just been released and after walking around for a bit, enjoying the scenery and trying on some outfits (I wasn't sitting at the computer playing the game, btw -- I was actually inside the game, so I saw everything from 1st person perspective) I was doing a quest where I had to physically pick up members of my family one by one and carry them out of the house. I think there might have been minotaurs in there somewhere too... None of them seemed to have any weight. After carrying everyone outside, I go talk to Uriel Septim and he gives me a fishy stick. I must have been very thankful, for when I woke up I was in a good mood :)

i was sitting in classroom drawing guns. we heard shots go off from the office, 2 floors down and through a hallway. i got up, closed up my binder.

my history teacher got up and went over to a cabinet, the cabinet was full of bottles of vodka. he got one out and began to drink heavily from it. he began a conversation with me:

"Well, desperate times call for desperate measures, dont they Steven?"

"I suppose so sir."

"well, its in the back cabinet, far left. I think you will know what to do."

i go over, and open up the cabinet. it has a stone chest. the chest is adorned with engravings, some of them showing wolfs in clothing stabbing humans. i move a panel on top, the panel is of a circular shape, with the top being smaller than the bottom, it is also engraved quite a bit. After i exposed this things...control panel, several stone pieces came out of that area, and began revolving around a central cylinder piece. Each piece was connected to another by what seemed to be lightning. the pieces were slowly revolving for maybe a second or two, then they rearranged themselves inside that compartment, and the chest opened to reveal a bracer. the bracer covered my right arm. when i put it on, i could feel several needles go inside my arm. one of them was a painkiller serum injection. the bracer then rearranged several pieces of plating to cover my hand, as well as the rest of my arm. several more needles went into my shoulder and my hand. i stretched my hand out as far as i could and several other pieces in the armor came out and rearranged themselves in my hand to form a pistol. my arm began to glow with the familiar holograms, one side showed my blood pressure and heart rate, my power supply, and several other things(it functioned like a far more advanced pip boy). there were also several dials, as well as a floating orb. i moved the floating orb forward and noticed a dot on it, i flew in the direction of the dot. it changed gravity!

i rearranged the orb and got onto normal ground, pistol in hand. i put one leg on a wall, and changed gravity, and walked on that wall. i walked through the empty hallway into the stairwell, i looked straight ahead(what would normally be looking down) the stairwell and saw two people in old military fatigues with AKs. their faces were covered. i changed my gravity so i fell toward them, firing my pistol, i fixed my gravity so it wouldnt hurt too bad when i hit the ground. i picked up their rifles and cleared one hallway by simply flying through it (inception style). and i cleared the last floor before going towards the office. when i breached the door to the office by flying at it feet first, i saw one man holding the principal with a pistol to his throat, i flew past him and shot him in the back of his head. i got back on "Normal" ground.

I had a dream yesterday where I found some dead or unconcious DC superheroes (one was Superman), and was forced to fight Darkseid. Despite being able to use my daydream powers at one point, I still ended up getting my ass kicked. Of course, that was to be expected.
