my latest dream has been more of the same, yet this time on a heck of a scale...must've been when i slept in.
the dream started with me simply visualizing a shape...of sorts. a cylindrical device with pieces that came apart and rearranged themselves in different patterns. a loading screen for my dreams?
then i woke up to a heads up display being initialized in my view. the words on it were in that "9 point language" of mine, i was an pretty small space...an APC of sorts. there were other people, but they were wired into the walls of the APC, probably for drugs, or sleep, or other things. i get up to stand. i bump into one of those floating cylinders while its in mid motion, it rearranges itself, and a circular panel above it by two inches goes up(bit of smoke comes out, a sound of pressure relieveing is heard) and i look out of this hatch.
we are in the middle of a desert in this vehicle, we are actually in a vehicle that is secured on a floating train. i get up on top of the APC, it is stuck to the train by several traqezoidal columns, each with several glowing lines along it. i move to another compartment, still keeping an eye on the sand dunes around us. the compartment is a dead end, but is full of weapons. my HUD recognizes my gun by a little point with my picture, a number, and the text being blue as opposed to the rest being red. i wasnt me in that picture, it appeared to be a lizard like being, similar to the argonian, but with a bigger lower jaw. as i walked out of armory compartment i looked towards the sand. it began to churn, then rise up. a massive metal snake jumped out of the sand, its head looking like that cylinder piece, with the other pieces moving the sand out of its way.it jumped up, then went back into the sand. i un-hooked my rifle. the soldiers came out of their APCs, the above hatch, and a larger back hatch were used. people began to run past me to the armory, and the glowing blue lines along everything turned red. the soldiers snapped to positions after they got their rifles(maybe theirs armors computers told their muscles what to do or something) when that thing surfaced again, we all targeted one spot(or our armor optics did) and we all fired our weapons. our weapons fired thin blue lasers, mine was semi automatic, but most of the other peoples were fully automatic. the floating pieces on this mech snake exploded, and we watched as every segment exploded, including some under the sand. the train was still going. we all turned toward the armory at the same time and put or rifles up in a an orderly fashion. we all got back into our APCs and the lights went from red to blue again. and we went back to sleep.
when i woke up again. our APC was moving and everyone was more independent, unlike when we saw the snake. we also had our rifles on a floating stand that came out of the floor. I observed each of my squadmates:
the first one was a wolf man, i could tell by the picture that showed up when i looked at him, he was a "Light armor Destroyer" according to my HUD, and it showed in his armor. along the side of his torso were several spots for what looked like grenades or bombs, he had a medium sized shoulder piece on one side, and a light piece on the other. his weapon was a submachine gun, it looked like a more geometric version of the P90. his helmet had no visor to see his eyes, and was more like pyramid heads...head, but with blue lines going down it.
the second was a woman, a human at that. she was our Squad "Battlefield tactician" and he helmet showed that. her helmet matched the shape of her face, but had 2 lines going down the side of her face, which started at her eye. one line glowed blue, the other glowed yellow. the lines stopped at her mouth, and there were two little holograms where they were. her armor was basically the same as mine, except for her having a chain skirt. her rifle looked like the assault rifle from Halo.
the third was...a monster of some sort. his face was blank except for what looked like a tear straight through the middle, in that tear were eyes. several of them. his skin looked charred to me. he was the "Long Range Combat Specialist." a sniper by any other name. his helmet was blank except for holograms and lines where his eyes were. his rifle was connected to his shoulder and expanded out to make a shot, it looked like the M82A2.
the fourth was also a wolf man, but a bulkier, and had black fur. he was our "Heavy armor Destroyer" his armor was similar to the light armor destroyers, but it had more places for Ammo and grenades, as well as more plates. his rifle was held underhand like a minigun, but only had one barrel. his helmet was just a larger version of the light armored destroyers.
and there was me. the lizard man. "Tactical Combat Overseer". my helmet had a plate that covered my lower jaw, but i had the holograms over my eyes. my rifle was the same as the humans.
that hatch outside was behind me, it was split into 4 triangular pieces, when they opened, it would provide cover for someone on the top to provide fire, as well as be our ramp down onto the ground. we saw a map on our heads up displays of our battlefield. it was an urban area. we would have to go out of the APC, get into a large, pillar like structure, and clear our way to an above ground road so our vehicle could be dropped onto it, our vehicle destroyers would break any armor on that road before we could get our APC up there. the sniper will hold the area with all of us as we defended the area for that APC. the door opened....and all things went wrong. the buildings around us were full of robed soldiers, they were not our own, and their uniforms were just messy. they used machine guns, as opposed to our energy weapons. a machine gun nest was firing straight into our APC. i felt a bullet bounce off my helmet, it felt like a smack to my face. i shouted to return fire and pointed my arm at the nest. we all fired on the soldiers and began to clear the area around us, the sniper was still inside the APC when an armored construction plow slammed into the side of the APC, crushing the light armor destroyer that was on the other side. the Heavy destroyer jumped onto the plow and tore off the armored top and crushed the skull of the driver.
we began to take in the area much more clearly. the buildings around us were massive, and most were connected by ramps and aboveground roads that almost blocked out the sun. the buldings were of a design similar to the architecture of the 1940s, most of the windows were broken already, but we had broken many during the fighting. there were craters in the road, and now a broken plow. corpses and fire surrounded us all. good thing we couldnt smell anything. the Heavy trooper was holding the light armored troop, had his gun on his back, and was using the light soldiers SMG, the holograms on his helmet were red instead of blue. our sniper was limping towards my second in command, the human. She reluctantly helped move him into the pillar building. this building was entirely different on the inside. the hallways were rounded...and massive. we had plenty of room to move about. the hallways reminded me of white gold tower in Oblivion. the left side of the hallway showed what looked like a power center of the pillar. it was a massive beam of energy moving up, with stone pieces around it. we moved to the other end of the hallway without any problem to find it was an elevator. the human punched in the commands, and we flew up, and around, and up again until we got to where we needed to. we moved through another hallway to the next door. the door was easily twice my size. it was also made of 4 triangles, like our APC's hatch. the human opened the door by just staring at it for a couple seconds and we moved out onto the road we had to hold.
we got a good look at the skyline from up there. this city seemed to stretch on and on. there was another pillar like the one we were in at a good distance. i hadnt realized to even look up again until i saw that were skyscraqers that came down from the sky...they were held up by the pillars..on a massive shell around the planet. there was no sky...just more buildings. i looked ahead at the road. several tanks, most had trash on them and extra pieces of sheet metal, some had "War paint" on them. we moved towards a small sheet metal hut, our heavy destroyer put down the light soldiers corpse, hooked the SMG on his hip, and got the heavy rifle he had off his back. he jumped out from cover, in a somersault. in mid somersault he fired the rifle into a group of armed people wearing raincoats, or ponchos, or even kimonos that had sheet metal on them. the explosion from each shot rocked the road, and cause the hut to collapse, showing the rotting animal corpses inside, some werent even of this earth. the sniper picked up the light soldiers corpse and we moved to a group of highway dividers that were piled up into a wall. he put his corpse down and jumped onto the top of the wall, braced himself and fired his rifle a couple times. the human was on the side of the wall, firing, and going back into cover, and i was coordinating all their movements, watching them all. the heavy soldier was jumping around, back flipping, sliding, grinding on a broken tank barrel and firing on soldiers that had very little time to react to our attack, some ran at him with AKs, spraying rounds blindly, or running away, covered in blood. none escaped his anger. the sniper did a front flip off the wall and landed on a burning tank, still with a gaping hole from the explosive laser round the Heavy put into it. the human and I picked up the Light destroyer and moved up. after the sniper and heavy cleared the area we called the APC. we saw a beam of light come from above down onto where the APC was, it drew it up to our level, while a beam from the pillar behind us put the APC onto the road.
we put the light troopers body into the APC and hooked it up to several tubes which connected to his armor. it gave us a full anolysis of the wounds he sustained. 3 bullets got into the joints of his armor. his tail and several other joint plates, including his neck were crushed. a window on my HUD showed me these things. we closed up the APC and watched as our APC automatically performed its mission. pieces of armor from around the machine came off, floated out for a couple seconds and rearranged themselves around one of the power cylinders and assembled an artillery piece. we watched as it fired straight from the road down, and saw several other glowing shots come from places lower than us, some had higher trajectories, some came from above down onto several key areas that were selected for attack. we watched mushroom clouds rise from those areas. our Heavy troopers helmet came apart and he began to sing, with tears in his eyes. he Sang Ode to Joy in German. we all Joined him, holding our rifles up. it didnt sound right because we were missing a soldier for the chorus.
