My Arch-Mage Altmer character is a knowledge hoarder!!!!!!!!!!!!!! In fact, I've already started to steal every single book in Solitude, and I started with Bryling's house and Vittoria Vici's house. Anyways, I joined the College of Winterhold to learn more about, well things in general. It's just hard to study history and such with all the drama of Winterhold, and it gets old after a while. During a recent misc. quest, I delivered a book to the Dean of History at the Bard's College. I was thinking to myself, "dean of history? I've gotta check this out!" I decided I would look into joining the college to further my studies of history (seeing as there is a history professor here and not at Winterhold). My question is this: is it weird for the Arch-Mage to join another college? In my character's backstory, he has attended many colleges (7 to be exact) but it still feels kind of weird joining another one now that I actually run one. I already feel like I'm neglecting my duties as Arch-Mage of the College and I don't know if spending more time in Solitude is going to help that at all. Also, I don't exactly want to be a bard, I just want to have access to the Bard's College's library and classrooms.

Well, considering how non-existent your duties are as Arch-Mage, I'd say it's perfectly reasonable.

Even then, you hardly do anything at the Bard's College.

TES has always failed when it comes to post-questline activities. You work so hard to rise in a guild, and then nothing.
