Hey,

I get this weird message when I save in the construction set, "Unable to complete operation due to failure removing previous file. Temp file remains. Continue running executable?"
I get the same message when I try to save my character in game.

Any ideas?

The temporary save file (backup.tes or something similar) can't be deleted, so the CS can't save to that and then create the datafile. Go into your Data Files directory, delete the temp file by hand, and try again.
