Brandy - Diner - morning

Brandy sat a on stool next to Atarah, Mirvin stood as Bob sat down.

“I’m Tap”, a bald woman said, as she walked over to take their order, “Celeste has gone back to Megaton, I’m running this place until further notice. What’ll it be?”

“I’ll take a brahmin steak, eggs if you’ve got them, and a Brahmin milk, please.”, replied Bob. He then turned to Brandy. “Go ahead and order, Sweet Pea…I’ve got it covered.”

"She left? She didn't even goodbye. Did she say why?" Brandy asked, "I'll have some Sugar Bombs" Tap just looked over to Atarah asking for her order, ignoring Brandy's question.

“I’ll have a toast with eggs and a cup of tea with milk if you have any, please.” Atarah answered.

“Once we’ve eaten we’ll take the wagon over to the Super-Duper Mart”, said Bob to Brandy. “Know anyone that would like to go with us? I saw several new people arrive yesterday, maybe they would like to go.” Bob then turned to Mirvin. "Would you like to go, Mirvin? The more the merrier."

"I want to know why Celeste left, she didn't even answer me" Brandy looked at Tap.

"Look, she went to Megaton I said, talk to Moriarty if you want to know more, I'm just here to run this place." Tap said, oh so coldly.

Brandy couldn't believe it, the new woman was rude, the had scolded her for being curious. Brandy turned to Bob and Atarah, speaking loud, "this place sure won't be the same, not with her running it." Tap, flashed a cold glance at Brandy as she sat down her cereal. Brandy was real quiet while she ate, the cereal tasted good, but her stomach was in knots. Unable to finish it, she looked around, there was a new woman wearing black leather armor pacing about, carrying Scythe's sickle. Her stomach knotted up, her nerves tensed up, seeing the sickle reminded her of that night. The night she risked her life for someone who didn't even really care. The thought that she was so foolishly smitten over Pawnee, enough so lose her life, it made her sick. Worse was the fact that she had so easily trusted Scythe, she didn't know which was worse.

Brandy's eyes shifted, James was approaching the diner, she quickly filled with anger, "Mirvin, will you come stand next to me?" She asked, "please don't let him touch me." Brandy pointed at James.

James took a drink of the Nuka Cola he had ordered, Brandy turned her back to him, still furious about what he did lastnight.

" hey do you know what I did last night i can't remember anything?" James asked Tap.

"WHAT?" Brandy shouted, she jumped up from her stool and looked at him, her finger in his face, "you gave me a Nuka Cola with some [censored] in it that made me really sick. Allergic reaction wasn't that what Ryler said Bob?" She called to Bob over her shoulder, "I could have died you [censored], what were you thinking?" She screamed.

"Hey, knock it off or I'll throw you out of my diner" Tap said scornfully.

Brandy was livid know, taking a page from Frieda she snapped back, "this is NOT your diner, it Celeste's, so mind your own business [censored]."

Mirvin. Diner. Morning.

"Would you like to go, Mirvin? The more the merrier." Mr Bob enquired, while Miss Brandy engaged in conversation with Miss Tap.

"Miss Brandy has requested that I remain with her for the present time my good chum." Mirvin rasped in reply. "If she wishes to accompany you, then I will also." The protectron stood at the end of the table and waited while the humans before him consumed their meals, refuelling their bodies for the day. Twice during the meal Miss Brandy appeared to be startled by people outside the diner. The first time was when the young miss spotted a woman Mirvin didn't know by name pacing in the street. The newcomer was wearing dark leather armour and had a large scythe etrapped to her back. The second was shortly afterwards when Mr James entered the diner. Miss Brandy appeared to grow angry at Mr James's presence. "Mirvin, will you come stand next to me?" She asked, "please don't let him touch me." Miss Brandy pointed at Mr James, who was ordering a drink from Miss Tap.

"Of course I will Miss Brandy," the robot's synthetic voice stated as he waddled forward. Mr James asked Miss Tap if she was aware of his actions the previous evening. Miss Brandy became enraged and lept up from her seat, charging over to Mr James and confronting him. "You gave me a Nuka Cola with some [censored] in it that made me really sick. Allergic reaction wasn't that what Ryler said Bob?" She called to Mr Bob over her shoulder, "I could have died you [censored], what were you thinking?" She screamed as Mirvin slowly waddled across the room behind her

"Hey, knock it off or I'll throw you out of my diner" Miss Tap said scornfully.

"This is NOT your diner, it Celeste's, so mind your own business [censored]." Miss Brandy snapped.

"Is this true Mr James?" Mirvin enquired, thudding to a stop beside the young miss. "Were you responsible for Miss Brandy's ill health last night? How did this happen?"

OOC: This will take place before the conversation.
Antony Park - Greyditch Town, Morning

Antony woke up and headed down towards the Greyditch area. He saw the somewhat burnt down city of Greyditch. It was a perfect place to set up shop. Megaton had a doctor and Rivet City had a doctor. No matter what the other doctors said, being a doctor wasn't for competition, it was for saving lives. And marching into a place where doctors already had it under control was extremely stupid and selfish.

Greyditch required medical attention. Chances were that nobody within the newly forming town had no idea how to even hold an acupuncture needle or administer herbal treatment.

Adjusting his rifle and taking out his pistol, Antony headed down towards the town of Greyditch. He wandered around for a little bit, exploring the area and the homes. Specifically, an empty home seemed to have been stripped of everything except the bare essentials.

"Alright...this is a good physician's home. Roomy and pretty good. I love it," Antony said to himself and smiled.

He then headed towards the Diner, which was pretty filled with people. When he walked in, he spotted two women arguing, a man and a robot. It was an interesting group for sure.

"Hey, knock it off or I'll throw you out of my diner," one of the women said.
"this is NOT your diner, it Celeste's, so mind your own business [censored]," another woman said.

The robot then intervened. "Is this true Mr James?" The robot said. "Were you responsible for Miss Brandy's ill health last night? How did this happen?"

Antony made his presence known then. "Excuse me. I'm new in Greyditch. Would one of you allow me to set up a physician's office here?"

OOC: OK, it was late evening. So sue me. :P

Bob Dobbs

Grayditch Diner – Morning

"Would you like to go, Mirvin?”, Bob asked. “The more the merrier."

"Miss Brandy has requested that I remain with her for the present time my good chum." Mirvin rasped in reply. "If she wishes to accompany you, then I will also."

“Fair enough”, said Bob with a chuckle. “If she’s not going I’m not either.”

"I want to know why Celeste left”, Brandy said as she jerked her thumb to point at Tap then turned to look at her. “She didn't even answer me!".

"Look”, Tap said icily, “She went to Megaton I said, talk to Moriarty if you want to know more, I'm just here to run this place.".

"This place sure won't be the same, not with her running it.", Brandy said disgustedly, either not noticing or caring that Tap was serving her order at that same moment. Tap glared daggers at Brandy as she set her bowl of Sugar Bombs down and walked away.

“Sweet Pea”, said Bob quietly as Brandy listlessly ate her cereal, “She not all that friendly, and I’m not taking her side…but you should be careful what you say to the person who’s cooking your food. Just saying.” He winked at Brandy and smiled.

Yeah, you might get more than you paid for. Not to mention this is the only game in town. You’d think Moriarty would have sent someone more personable to run this place.

At this point Bob saw movement in his peripheral vision. Looking to see what it was, J.T. was running out the door then down the street, his coffee spilled on the counter. Everyone else was looking down the main street. Bob looked and saw dust and smoke billowing from the front of one of the houses on the other side of Brandy’s.

“What?” Bob asked, looking around at the other people in the Diner. “What happened?”

“An explosion”, Tap replied sarcastically. “Don’t tell me you didn’t hear it…you deaf or something?”

As a matter of fact….yeah. In my left ear, at least. But that isn’t any of your business.

Bob pretended to ignore her and walked to the door, watching JT. He had stopped at the house then walked in. He heard nothing that indicated trouble…then after a couple minutes James walked out with a armload of stuff and went back into his own house. Shortly afterward, JT walked back out then crossed the street and disappeared. He also noticed that a young woman dressed in leather armor that she looked like she had been poured into, and carrying a farmer’s sickle of all things, was pacing the street in front of the Diner like a caged beast and glaring this direction.

Probably blew the door off it’s hinges rather than pick the lock. That man is two beers short of a six pack. And who is that woman? Nice ass, but something about her really isn’t right.

Bob turned away and sat down again, just as Tap served him his Brahmin steak. He noticed Brandy was fearfully glancing out the window at the strange woman.

“Thanks”, Bob said to Tap as he tucked into the first real meal he’d had since the night he arrived in town. He found it surprisingly good. He then turned to Brandy. “Don’t worry about that woman outside, I’ve seen weirder out there.”

Brandy suddenly scowled as her green eyes blazed with anger.

"Mirvin, will you come stand next to me?" She asked the Protectron as she pointed outside. "Please don't let him touch me."

Bob looked and saw that James was heading for the Diner. He hurriedly finished his Brahmin steak and started into his eggs, knowing he might never get to finish them otherwise.

[censored]. Just what I needed. I’m surprised he’d show his face so soon after the stupid stunt he pulled last night. What was he thinking?

James walked in as if nothing was wrong and sat down at the counter.

“Morning, Tap.”, James said. “Could I have a Nuka-Cola please?”

After Tap served him the drink, he then began looking around, settling on the rather colorful female outside. He looked at her for a moment then turned back to Tap.

"Hey", James said. “Do you know what I did last night I can't remember anything?"

“If you mean before you came in here and got [censored]-faced”, Tap replied sarcastically, “I neither know nor care. As far as whatever you did with that harlet, erm, I mean "lady", outside when you left with her….when a man and a woman love each other very much, or in this case when enough caps change hands, the man puts...”

The way she held up her hands and made little quote marks with her fingers when she said ‘lady’ nearly made Bob laugh out loud. Brandy had turned red at James’s question, and leaped out of the booth, squirmed her way around Mirvin, and ran up to James. Bob got up and followed her.

He’d better not hit her…I’ve about had enough of his brahmin [censored] as it is already.

"WHAT?" Brandy shouted, as she pointed her finger in his face, "You gave me a Nuka Cola with some [censored] in it that made me really sick. Allergic reaction wasn't that what Ryler said, Bob?" She called to Bob over her shoulder.

“That’s what he said, Sweet Pea.”, replied Bob flatly. “The high falutin’ word for it was Anaphylaxis.”

"I could have died you [censored]”, she screamed at James. “What were you thinking?"

“She’s not exaggerating, you know.”, Bob said to James coldly. “Jessica misdiagnosed what was happening as a Jet overdose, without the proper treatment she could have died before Ryler arrived.”

"Hey, knock it off or I'll throw you out of my diner", Tap said scornfully.

"This is NOT your diner!”, Brandy retorted angrily. “It’s Celeste's, so mind your own business [censored]."

"Is this true Mr James?" Mirvin intoned as it walked over to stand beside Brandy, placing her between Mirvin and Bob. "Were you responsible for Miss Brandy's ill health last night? How did this happen?"

“Come sit down.”, said Atarah to Brandy as she turned from her conversation with a stranger to approach Brandy from behind and place a hand on her shoulder, “We’ll deal with James later.” While this was happening a stranger had walked up to stand next to James.

"Everything alright here?" asked the stranger as he moved his hand near his gun. He looked nervous, like he wasn’t sure what he was getting into.

“No need for that, friend.”, Bob said to the stranger firmly. “You might want to learn more regarding what this disagreement is about before you choose a side, or decide to get involved at all.”

"You said you had an allergic reaction”, the stranger who had been talking to Atarah said to Brandy. “Are you alright now?"

“She’s fine, now”, replied Bob calmly. “It happened last night. The doc checked her out and she’ll be OK. Thanks for asking, though.” Bob then turned to James.

“You know what this is about, stop lying.”, Bob said icily. “You came to me yesterday about the cure Jessica had. When I told you that we should talk to Ryler first to see if it was safe, and only then talk to Brandy about taking it…you went and spiked a bottle of Nuka-Cola with it and tricked her into drinking it. She could have died right in my goddamned arms, do you have any idea how angry that makes me? And now you come in here saying you cannot remember anything you did last night? That is awfully [censored] convenient. I think you owe it to Brandy to stop this brahmin [censored] and give her an explanation…and an apology for your behavior. Well, what do you have to say for yourself?”

Spoiler

Name: Atarah "Zipporah" Dorcas

Age: 28

six: Female

Her wavy, pale brown hair reaches her shoulders, her icy blue eyes are kind, and her smile soft showing a good pair of teeth. Her body is painted with ugly scars, all healed and white, a chemical burn, the size of the average man's palm is branded onto her left shoulder. A large scar runs from her back shoulder to her waist. Would be considered pretty of she weren't covered in grit and scars.

She is and all-rounder when it comes to combat; her offence is the best defence. She is quick on her feet. Due to years of drugs and human flesh, her body is prone to illness. Shakes occur randomly. Her reading and writing skills is that of a fifth grader.

Weapons and armour: Atarah carries with her a Scoped Hunting Rifle with the words, "Justice" etched on its side. She also holds a 44. Magnum with "Redemption" carved onto its side also. By Atarah's side is narrow knife, the handle is bound in red ox blood leather.

She wears a Merc Grunt outfit.

Personality: Atarah holds mercy with her tightly. She is charismatic; the sort of person you'd go to when feeling down. Atarah can be stubborn and aggresive. If she thinks of something she sticks to it, unless someone she feels inclined to convinces her otherwise. Atarah will always be there to pick you up; her loyalty remains firm.

At times, her old hateful and arrogant nature brews within. Her ways can be violent and crooked. Her past haunts her to this day.

Occupation: Regulator

Faction: Grayditch

Backstory: Born into a bloody wasteland from a family of Raiders, she grew up with their ways. She succumbed to sadism; her life was like that of every typical raider - revolving around murder, torture, drugs and six. During each raid, her heart was blackened with evil.

One time, however she and a group of raiders found a small house, and in it, a family of four. The raiders murdered the family, not even giving a moment to spare the family. The young family soon became their "dinner". This was not the first time Atarah tasted human flesh.

As she grew older, she became a "plaything" for the raiders; her life was pulled down even further. She came into drugs, until it became a daily pill for her. Withdrawals attacked her whenever she didn't have a fix.

As the years past, it seemed like there was no way out. On her last raid, yet another family was attacked, but this time, the father muttered something only she could hear. The words bugged her, and she soon wanted to come out of the raider's life.

Being the stupid girl she was, Atarah marched right up to her father and told him she was leaving. This angered the raiders, so they beat her, and cut her body. A small jar of acid was thrown at her, burning her shoulder. The raiders threw her half-dead body far out on the wasteland to die. She would not exist today had a passing wasteland doctor not come by.

She became a Christian and close friends with the doctor. They travelled together and soon bonded into a relationship. The doctor was killed and tortured when a group of Talon Company Mercs ambushed them, knocking her out. One Merc hit him hard that his own fist needed tending too.

Now lonely, she wanders the wasteland endlessly. Three years have passed, of going from town to town. Now, she wants to plant roots down and settle down somewhere - make some close friends and live in a good community.

As she wanders, Atarah finds a small note about Grayditch buried beneath the sand...

Atarah Dorcas - Diner - Morning

Whilst slowly chewing her breakfast, James walking in asking if he’d done anything last night for his drunkenness blinded his night. Atarah was sure Brandy’s face burned a bloody rage, eyes sharp and icy.

"WHAT?" Brandy exploded, her face twisted with anger. She jumped from the stool, faced James and jabbed a finger in his face, "you gave me a Nuka Cola with some [censored] in it that made me really sick. Allergic reaction wasn't that what Ryler said Bob?" She called to Bob over her shoulder, "I could have died you [censored], what were you thinking?" She screamed.

"Hey, knock it off or I'll throw you out of my diner" Tap cut sharply, passing Brandy an icy stare.

The words did not good, only to anger Brandy more than she was already, "this is NOT your diner, it Celeste's, so mind your own business [censored]." She spat her words rudely.

Mirvin questioned James, awaiting an answer.

A voice cut in, "Excuse me. I'm new in Grayditch. Would one of you allow me to set up a physician's office here?"

Atarah turned to the newcomer – an Asian, young and neat with a face that seemed to have gone through many sleepless nights. “Sure. Check for any free houses, but see Joe – the security first. Perhaps you can lend a hand to Ryler. Only few people here have medical knowledge, and we need all we can get.” She smiled warmly, “oh, and the name’s Atarah. Welcome!”

Turning to Brandy, she placed a hand on her shoulder, “Come sit down. We’ll deal with James later.”

--Greyditch--
--Morning--
--Pawnee--

"My name is Pawnee. I'd shake your hand, but I might crush it," Pawnee motioned to his powerfist. "Could you give a message to James for me? Maybe to Brandy too, if you know who she is, anyway. Frieda and I will be out of town for a while. We're headed over to Tenpenny Tower. I'd be grateful if you let him know that, so people around here don't worry about us - wonder where we are."

"Pawnee, my dear, dear boy." The strange woman leaned against a sickle. Pawnee hadn't noticed it before. "Surely you do not expect to gain entrance to Tenpenny Tower dressed like that?"

Is that Scythe's? Does she know Scythe?

The woman pinched his shirt, "I am no messenger but, young Pawnee, I am in need of a courier to Tenpenny Tower. Come, walk with me."

"Uh. . .okay. But I really would like you to let James and Brandy know where we're going."

"I shall be your messenger, and you shall be mine." She smiled. "I recall hearing Harold, make mention of a clothes supply residing in the security shack, we shall find you suitable clothing first, and foremost. Frieda was it not? I shall assume that she is donning similar attire such as yourself?"

Pawnee cocked his head, "similar attire? What do you mean? We gotta hike through the wasteland to get to Tennpenny. Dangerous hike too. We're dressed for that."

The woman tapped Pawnee's power fist, "it would sound as if you do not wield this properly, that leads me to ask, why? What business do you seek at Tenpenny Tower?"

Why does she care?

"I'm going to visit an old friend." Pawnee made an insincere smile.

The woman ushered Pawnee into the guard shack. Once inside, she drew her short sword, opening every single box that lay around the shack. She pulled out a simple red dress followed by a similar pink dress, and another long flowing red gown. She tossed the various bonnets from the box onto the desk, opening the next box, she found a black, strapless dress. Under that was a black pin striped suit, with matching hat, she held it up to Pawnee.

"I do believe that you would look dapper in this suit young Pawnee. It should suffice nicely for you, when in Allistair's office delivering the invoice of my purchase."

She really expects me to wear that thing? Meh, I'll just sell it. Probably in Megaton.

"Thanks," Pawnee snatched it from her. "Very sweet of you."

The woman smiled back while handing Pawnee one of the dresses.

"Pink for Frieda, very well, I shall write down the invoice, and you may be on your way."

Pink for Frieda? Haha. I think she'd sooner die than wear this. Not really into being girly. Brandy would like it thought. For [censored]'s sake, why am I thinking about Brandy!

The woman handed Pawnee a small envelope.

"There you go darling, run along. Oh wait, was it Brandy that you wished for me to inform of your departure? Will news of this cause her distress?"

"Um. . .maybe a bit. Tell her. . .tell her I'll be back though. And that I'm not in any danger. Stress that. You can tell her its about Bittercup."

"I would be delighted to inform her myself. If you would excuse me, I have some dresses to try on. May you not disappoint me young Pawnee." She shooed Pawnee out the door.

Pawnee took the free clothing and walked back to his loft to wake up Frieda. When he returned, she was already awake. She looked nervous and breathless.

"I thought you took off on me. What's all that?" Frieda stepped towards him and helped herself to the clothing. "Where were you shopping this early in the morning?"

"Wasn't shopping. I wanted to let someone know we were leaving without going through a tearful goodbye. I was going to tell James but I bumped into a new woman in town. She was weird. Had different color eyes. She said she'd tell James and gave me a letter to deliver to Tennpenny. Gave me these clothes too. Guess they're our payment for being mailmen. . .and so we'll fit in once we get there."

Frieda held up the dress. It was carnation pink and simple, trim, and long. The straps were meant to tie behind the neck in a halter style. Tiny, clear plastic beads were sewn beneath the bust in an Empire waistline, and the back had a slit from the bottom hem to the knee.

"This...I mean, you don't really...no." She looked up and shook her head. "Just, no. There's nowhere for my gun belt and my boots will stick out."

"Haha," Pawnee grinned. "I knew you'd hate it, and I hate the suit she picked for me. I'd look like Zardoz in it. Let's just bring them along and sell them for caps."

Pawnee glanced down the road, towards the diner, and then out towards the D.C. skyline.

"Speaking of which, I'm all packed up and ready to go. Like to slip away before anyone sees us. You need anything else, Frieda, or are you ready to go now?"

J.T. Taylor - Sue and Jessica's house - morning

“You a guard? I thought you would be singing in diner trying to impress the girls, well if you're going to do security, you better dress the part” James joked as gave J.t the police hat.

J.T laughed, "yeah, well, who says I can't do both?"

“Anyway, sure I’ll help you clear some houses, but I need to clear this house and then find a door and a chemistry set” James said as he turned, walking up the wooden staircase to the upstairs room.

"Alright" J.T replied, looking at the hat, placing it on the skeleton, "you've been watchin' this house long enough, you've been promoted."

“you going to help me or not?” James asked as James walked inside the upstairs room.

"Yep, I'm coming" J.T said as he went up the stairs, "so, Sue and Jessica's new place huh?"

James was consumed more with scavenging, it would appear, instead of making sure no dangers lurked around. J.T checked all the doors, scoping the rooms, making sure nothing would be of any harm. J.T went back downstairs, once he was satisfied there was nothing upstairs.

Once James finally came back down from upstairs, both of them went down in the basemant. Much like the rest of the house, it had a musty smell. Several lock boxes lined the floor, James found a Stealthboy, acting as if he had never seen one before. J.T chuckled at Jame's excitement.

James then turned and faced J.T, “ I’m going to find Sue & Jess then head to diner, your welcome to look around for anything you like” James said and then walked back upstairs.

J.T shrugged his shoulders, "really don't need anything."

J.T walked outside, he looked down at the brahmin, making sure they were all there. James had put some distance between them in a matter of seconds. He pressed his lips together and walked on. Pacing about was a nice looking woman, albeit the corn rowed hair did nothing for J.T, he nodded at her, she returned a devious smile.

Weird, wonder what she's up to, he thought, walking to the crops. He picked some corn, carrots and several buffalo gourds. He cleaned of a carrot, sitting on an old crate. This is pretty damn good, fresh veggies, who would of thought

Jimmy Leggio - Morning

Jimmy went next door to his shop. It was the morning. The day prior he had reacquainted himself with Calypso. [censored] crazy Calypso. I wonder what the [censored] Moriarty is thinking bringing her here, Jimmy thought as he observed the shop, leaning on a counter. Harold would no doubt be around soon with the clothes. Jimmy kicked some rubble from the under his feet. He was in no hurry to fix his shop up, nobody was questioning his reasons for business in Greyditch. He would probably just have his troops take care of the fake business. Let Jimmy handle what he handles best, selling slaves.

In Falls, Jimmy had lists of past and present clients. If worst came to worst he's just get in contact with some of them, but Jimmy didn't realise that his job in the town was to draw business from Paradise Falls. If that was the case, he wouldn't stay long. What's the point of the leader of the biggest faction of Slavers in the Capital Wasteland leaving his main base of operations to go to an ugly little settlement if he was just conducting the same business with the same clients as he did normally?

Harold opened the door to Jimmy's store, a large parcel in his hands. He slammed it on the counter, and smacked the wood of the counter with one of his large hands.

"Where do you want these?" the big man boomed.

"There's fine, old boy," Jimmy responded. Seeing Harold deliver the package as opposed to Rennie didn't do anything to help Jimmy's frustration with the whole situation.

"Listen, hound," Jimmy addressed Harold. "You're Joe's assistant. Send on a message. Tell him that I realise he has other errands to run in this [censored] hole, but I need to be clearly told what the [censored] is going on here. He slips off before I can ever ask him. Do I search for buyers? How much do I have to give to Moriarty? I've managed to sort out food and water for the stock, but that costs caps. I'm not willing to piss away my money waiting for your master to reply, so tell him to make haste."

Jimmy paused, looking around the rundown building. "I'll be here in the meantime. Now.." he pointed towards the exit for a moment before turning his attention to the parcel on the counter before him.

Joe Rennie. Joe's house. Morning.

Joe woke with a start, almost screaming as he dived from his bed and fumbled for his pistol as a loud explosion rocked the town. His first thought was that the religious raiders had returned to the town seeking revenge for their slain comrades. When no further gunfire could be heard Joe edged his way closer to his window and peered out. Other than the new fellow with the guitar case, who was running down the street, there was no sign of movement outside. Satisfied that the town wasn't under attack, Joe holstered his pistol once more and wandered into his bathroom to freshen up for the day. He washed and shaved then stood for a while, examining the wounds inflicted by the raider's torture. His face was still swollen in several places, while livid red flesh criss-crossed his torso. He would have to visit Rylar at some point, see if the young physician had any kind of ointment or salve to ease the pain from his burned flesh.

Once he had dressed himself Joe slowly limped out of his front door. Moving was incredably painful, the hike to Megaton and back hadn't helped, he had needed to rest and recover.

But you try telling that to Moriarty. "No Mr money grubbing Irish bastard, I'm not coming just yet, wait 'till I'm ready." I think that you know how that one would have ended Joe. It would involve Harold and it'd be [censored] unpleasant to say the least. Still, back in town now. You can keep up the public image for a while, this'll actually help in a way, the head of security horrifically injured in the defense of the town. Yeah, you can spin this to your advantage. Probably won't have to pay for your own beers at the diner for a while either. It'll be a refreshing change to have Tap around for a while, I'll be glad to be able to have a meal without Celeste jumping on me every time Harold leaves the room. Though I really hope that she keeps her mouth shut around her father, if he finds out about what me and his daughter have been up to... Well I hope Harold finishes the job quickly.

The thief pushed open the door to the security office and immediately froze. There were spatters of fairly fresh blood up one wall of the shack all the way to the ceiling. The air thick with the cloying, coppery smell. "What the [censored]?" he breathed looking around the room in confusion. He spotted a small box with a scrap of paper tacked to it, he picked up the paper and held it up so that he could read it.

*******************************************

Joseph,

While in Megaton, I could not help but notice how cowardly you were. Being appointed head of town security is disgraceful, perhaps you can redeem yourself. This package contains what every worthy man needs, surely you can use a pair.

Calypso
*******************************************

The thief picked up the box and looked at it for a moment before holding it up to his ear and shaking it. The contents of the box was fairly light and thudded around inside the box with a kind of meaty rattle. He opened the box and peered inside. It took Joe a couple of seconds to realise what he was looking at, before he threw the box across the room in disgust and revulsion. The contents of the box whacking into the wall before falling to the ground with a thud. "Ah, for [censored] sake!" He exclaimed as he began pulling open drawers on one of the desks looking for something to clean it up with and almost screamed when he discovered a human head in one of the drawers, staring blankly back at him. Joe backed away from the desk, fighting the urge to vomit. It was far to early in the morning to be dealing with this [censored].

Slowly Joe limped out of the shack door and locked it behind him. Harold could come and find him if he wanted to get into the shack for any reason. After a while he had managed to make his way into the diner and took a seat in a booth. He waved good morning to the small group gathered around one of the tables, Brandy and her robot amongst them. He then waved the bald headed woman behind the bar over. "Strong coffee please Tap and a whisky chaser." The woman raised an eyebrow at him but didn't actually ask any questions. The thief simply shrugged "Just get the drinks. I've got a feeling it's going to be one of those days."

Michael Bright, Grayditch, Diner, Morning
Michael had stayed away from the town, but when the sun rose he had decided to go to the Diner and grab something to eat.

He was sitting on a stool, deep in thought. He couldn't get the nightmare he had the other night, out of his head. He tried to think about Rivet City or Canterbury Commons, but he kept thinking about Madison.

Tears dripped onto the counter, he was crying but he didn't care. He pulled out a holodisk he had, and listened to it.

October, 22nd
This is Doctor Marie of Canterbury Commons, I'm afraid our patient Madison Cole has died. She was shot in the neck, we did everything we could to save her but it was no good. I don't know how I'm going to tell Michael, but when he wakes up I'll speak with him.

Michael was disturbed when shouting began, he looked to his left to see a woman yelling at James. Michael walked up to them and stood next to James.

"Everything alright here?" asked Michael, moving his hand near where he had his gun in case it got ugly.

He didn't know what was going on but now that he had involved himself it was too late for him to withdraw.

OOC: I'm picking House 21
Antony Park - Diner - Morning

Antony noticed another woman. She seemed nice judging by her face but kind of grimy and a few scars here and there. “Sure. Check for any free houses, but see Joe – the security first. Perhaps you can lend a hand to Ryler. Only few people here have medical knowledge, and we need all we can get.” She smiled warmly, “oh, and the name’s Atarah. Welcome!”

She seemed nice enough. Antony gave a nod. "Thank you Atarah."

He headed towards the house he had found which was stripped clean of everything that was valuable. A fresh start was needed and since the room only had paintings, shelves, about 4 bed, and a couple containers, it was perfect to recreate and renovate.

It was time to get to work. Firstly, he unpacked his bag, revealing several small containers of herbal medication, then stored it in a dresser that had multiple drawers, all organizing the herbs using each drawer. Then, Antony stared to unpack the rest of the bag, mostly containing food, water, medical equipment, and bullet cases.

Soon enough, all of his baggage was unpacked and the house looked decent enough. It could be used as a physician's office with just a little more aesthetic renovation and more clean beds.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Antony, after unpacking, went outside and surveyed the town. It truly needed medical attention from more than one physician.
Hopefully the other physician doesn't mind having me around. Especially with my more...traditional methods of medical treatment Antony thought to himself. He then headed back into the Greyditch Diner.
"One shot of beer and whatever you recommend on the menu," Antony said, sitting down, ignoring everybody else.
FRIEDA ~~ Pawnee's house ~~ Early morning
"Speaking of which, I'm all packed up and ready to go. Like to slip away before anyone sees us. You need anything else, Frieda, or are you ready to go now?"
"I'll be ready to go, as soon as I find a spot for this dress." Frieda tried to fold the dress up delicately but the fabric kept slipping on itself and poking out from the neat edges she tried to achieve. "Ugh," she grunted, pulling things out of her bag and stopping once she found the other half of the piece of paper she'd bought from Tap the day before.
She regarded the paper for a moment. Brandy's voice from her dream rang in her head. 'Thought you could just leave me behind, huh?' Frieda took a breath and searched in her pocket for her pencil. She jammed the dress into her bag and closed it up.
"I'm ready, I just need to do one last thing. I'll meet you on the south end of town, we'll leave past the Brahmin pen, and avoid the diner." Frieda stood and tossed her bag over her shoulder and walked towards the stairs. She was about to kiss his cheek when she paused and thought better of it. "I will see you in two minutes, I promise. Don't be late!"
She ran down the stairs and into the street. Frieda slowed as she drew closer to the house behind Brandy's and ducked into the alley between hers and what used to be Celeste's house, keeping to the shadows and trying to be quiet. She held her breath and tip toed towards the edge of the house in time to see Brandy, Bob, Mirvin, and another person Frieda didn't recognize walk into the diner in the early morning light.
What luck! Frieda ran around the corner and into Brandy's house. She hurried over to the coffee table and leaned over, writing as quickly as she could.
Brandy,
I hope you get yourself sorted out, and I hope your new friends are better to you than I was. I felt my heart being called elsewhere and it's just time for me to move on. Remember when I said I don't stay in a place for too long?
I'm travelling with Pawnee for now, but I don't think he'll want me to come with him all the way to where he's going. All you need to know is that we're both safe, and you should stay here in town with Mirvin, get yourself established.
Maybe we'll meet again. All the best to you.
FRIEDA.
P.S. Lock your door when you leave!
Frieda left the note in the open, pulled her bag back onto her shoulder, and left the house. She ran down the street towards the Brahmin pen where Pawnee was waiting. "Told you, two minutes. Let's get out of here. Lead on," she grinned.
The three walked up the ramp and were out of town by the time the sun had fully risen.
James wilson - the diner - morning
“If you mean before you came in here and got [censored]-faced”, Tap replied sarcastically, “I neither know nor care. As far as whatever you did with that harlet, erm, I mean "lady", outside when you left with her….when a man and a woman love each other very much, or in this case when enough caps change hands, the man puts...”
“very funny but calypso didn’t take or ask money, I think it had something to do Harold “ james repiled
"WHAT?" Brandy shouted, as she pointed her finger in his face, "You gave me a Nuka Cola with some [censored] in it that made me really sick. Allergic reaction wasn't that what Ryler said, Bob?" She called to Bob over her shoulder.
“what blazes are you talking about” James said with a confused look on his face….
“That’s what he said, Sweet Pea.”, replied Bob flatly. “The high falutin’ word for it was Anaphylaxis.”
“anaphylaxis? What the hell is that?”
"I could have died you [censored]”, she screamed at James. “What were you thinking?"
“ I clearly wasn’t” James muttered to himself….
“She’s not exaggerating, you know.”, Bob said to James coldly. “Jessica misdiagnosed what was happening as a Jet overdose, without the proper treatment she could have died before Ryler arrived.”
“that doesn’t sound like a thing Jessica would do….” James sliently repiled….
"Hey, knock it off or I'll throw you out of my diner", Tap said scornfully.
"This is NOT your diner!”, Brandy retorted angrily. “It’s Celeste's, so mind your own business [censored]."
“lay off Tap, I know she isn't Celeste, but she's doing a better job that any of us could do….."
somone how I’m going reget standing up for Tap…..
"Is this true Mr James?" Mirvin intoned as it walked over to stand beside Brandy, placing her between Mirvin and Bob. "Were you responsible for Miss Brandy's ill health last night? How did this happen?"
“Mirvin I have no idea what I did last night , other that apparently hiring or winning a “harlet” James replied still confused whlist two other people walked into the diner and spoke to bob and Atarah
“Come sit down.”, said Atarah to Brandy as she turned from her conversation with a stranger to approach Brandy from behind and place a hand on her shoulder, “We’ll deal with James later.”
“You know what this is about, stop lying.”, Bob said icily. “You came to me yesterday about the cure Jessica had. When I told you that we should talk to Ryler first to see if it was safe, and only then talk to Brandy about taking it…you went and spiked a bottle of Nuka-Cola with it and tricked her into drinking it. She could have died right in my goddamned arms, do you have any idea how angry that makes me? And now you come in here saying you cannot remember anything you did last night? That is awfully [censored] convenient. I think you owe it to Brandy to stop this brahmin [censored] and give her an explanation…and an apology for your behavior. Well, what do you have to say for yourself?”
“ it’s not a lie and you know what bob, if you want punch be do it right now, I won’t stop ya but your reget it or you can Shut up and let me talk to bandy….. “
going to have to use all of tricks in book if I’m going to ever get her to like me again…..
placing his nuka –cola on the desk James walked up infront of brandy and bent down on one knee and looked brandy staight in face “ Brandy I am truly sorry for what suffering caused you last night, I still don’t know why I did but I really wanted to get you all jet so badly because …..
[censored] it why not tell her you love her…. what the worst that can happen… bob punching me and then getting pistol whipped hehehe.
because I love you brandy, ever since I saw you in the party I’ve loved you, hell I could list a bunch a things I love about you but if you don’t want to talk to me again…. I understand.. James said….
Brandy - Diner - morning
Atarah placed a hand on Brandy's shoulder, “Come sit down. We’ll deal with James later.”
Brandy gave in, and walked to a table with Atarah, her stomach ached terribly. Joe walked in, he almost looked nauseous as he placed his order. Brandy sat quietly, listening to the men argue.
Forgot my ass, he's just coming up with excuses. What a jerk, and I thought he was better than that.
There two men standing at the other end of the diner, she didn't recognize either of them. As Tap served Joe, she sent a cold stare at Brandy, Brandy just turned her head.
"Great, here comes James again" Brandy rolled her eyes at Atarah.
“Brandy I am truly sorry for what suffering caused you last night, I still don’t know why I did but I really wanted to get you all jet so badly because ….." James begged.
"Yes, I'm waiting" she folded her arms.
"because I love you brandy, ever since I saw you in the party I’ve loved you, hell I could list a bunch a things I love about you but if you don’t want to talk to me again…. I understand.. James said…
Brandy's mouth hung open for a second, a look of disbelief washed across her face, is he serious? No one has ever confessed love for you before. Maybe, wait, wha...
Brandy furrowed her brow, "was it Calypso you said?" She looked out the window, scrunched her nose and turned back around, "let's see, you poisoned me, then [censored] some prosttute. Is it because of the Jet to James? Did you take a puff before you [censored] her, were you high when you tried to kill me?"
Brandy stood up, "you sure know how to make a girl feel special, let me tell ya" she sarcastically shook her head, then slapped his face, as hard as she could, "I love you to honey, now why don't you, and your little hoker out there, go and show me how much you love me, and I'll go see if Joe will help me show how much I love you." She turned towards Joe, quickly turning back, "you didn't even talk to me at the party anyways jerk."
Brandy let out a sigh of complete frustration, she went and sat next to Joe.
"Sorry about that, bad morning. I was wondering, did Celeste ever mention me brewing moonshine for the diner?" Brandy smiled at Joe.
James Wilson- The Diner - morning
Brandy furrowed her brow, "was it Calypso you said?" She looked out the window, scrunched her nose and turned back around, "let's see, you poisoned me, then [censored] some prosttute. Is it because of the Jet to James? Did you take a puff before you [censored] her, were you high when you tried to kill me?"
“what? NO I would never do that! and you know about my "conditon"... ”
Brandy stood up, "you sure know how to make a girl feel special, let me tell ya" she sarcastically shook her head, then slapped his face, as hard as she could, "I love you to honey, now why don't you, and your little hoker out there, go and show me how much you love me, and I'll go see if Joe will help me show how much I love you." She turned towards Joe, quickly turning back, "you didn't even talk to me at the party anyways jerk."
Don’t worry I will… James muttered to himself… Standing up James looked at Bob “ don’t you say one word or I will [censored] shoot you” james said before he walked back to counter, finished his Nuka-cola and then walked out of town, toward the super duper mart…
-- about 10 minutes later at the super duper mart--
I bet I can find something inside to impress brandy, maybe she will forgive me...." James though as he step over the two dead raiders guards he had just shot...
Opening the door, James walked inside and towards the backroom pharmacy, when suddenly five raiders jumped out in front of James and began to laugh….
Four of raiders were men, three looked like the average raider, the fourth one was a very fat Man, wearing metal armour and holding a rusty tri-beam laser that stock had been chopped off. the other raider was a young women with Blue “Wendy the welder” hairstyle
Great, raiders…I bet the fat one is the leader...
“So what do we have here? “ the fat one said, “I’m blaster-mad and what are you doing on our turf?” he asked pointing his tri-beam laser rifle at James…
But before James could reply once of raiders shouted “Hey boss I know this guy he come from Grayditch, Jackson said some girl slapped him din…
Before the raider could finish James drew his magnum & m1911 and began firing at the raider killing three men instantly whilst the woman froze up.
"your Going to die now, then I'm going to eat you!” blaster-mad shouted as he fired his tri-beam at James but missed...
" better luck next time Fat man James shouted" as he fired the last 3 bullets from his M1911 at blaster-mad with one lucky bullet penetrating his thick skull… and then falling back dead…
The female raider screamed “ don’t kill me, here I’ll give you the letter!” she said as reached into blaster-mad pocket and pulled out a greasy letter and then gave the letter & the tri-beam laser to James…
“ Don’t worry I’m not going to kill you” James said as he span his m1911 around and pistol-whipped the raider in the face, knocking her out cold. James then opened the letter and began to it read…
-----
To blaster-mad
My associates and me wish to hire you and your crew to raid caravans coming and going to the town of grayditch, we shall send someone once a week to collect your “findings” and pay you for work. However you circumstances are you to attack the town of grayditch.
-----
I wonder who sent this.. Maybe the raider will know … when she wakes up James though to himself whilst looking at the unconscious raider on floor…
Putting the letter in his Pocket, James began looking around the super duper mart for anything brandy would like such as the robot in back room, the mini-nuke, a book about junk town and some of shelves that could be used as wood.
How am I going to get these back to town.... hmm maybe I should start by piling them up and entrance then carry it piece by piece to grayditch…
Heading back into the pharmacy, James slowly dragged the robot to the front of store and then began to dissemble the shelves and piling them up next to robot and the knocked out raider…
---
Spoiler
the Female raider will know nothing
Joe Rennie. Diner. Morning.
Well, she certainly is a fiesty one isn't she. Joe observed with amusemant as Brandy verbally tore James a new one. Though if he is lying to her then he deserves this. "I don't remember anything" is a pretty piss poor excuse.
Brandy stood up, "you sure know how to make a girl feel special, let me tell ya" she sarcastically shook her head, then slapped his face, as hard as she could, "I love you to honey, now why don't you, and your little hoker out there, go and show me how much you love me, and I'll go see if Joe will help me show how much I love you."
You want me to show you what? I only just got rid of Celeste. Just because James went and got his jollies from Calypso, there's no need to get me involved. Don't bother me, just [censored] off and bother someone else.
She turned towards Joe, quickly turning back, "you didn't even talk to me at the party anyways jerk."
Brandy let out a sigh of complete frustration as she slipped into the seat next to Joe.
"Sorry about that, bad morning. I was wondering, did Celeste ever mention me brewing moonshine for the diner?" Brandy smiled at Joe.
Though I suppose that she could stay and talk for a while.
Joe smiled wearily at the young woman then knocked back his shot of whisky. "That's quite all right. I haven't been having the best day myself." His smile grew a little warmer. "As it happens she did mention a little about it to me. In fact, it sounded like such a good idae that I mentioned it to my boss. He's the guy who set up this town. He has asked me to offer you a contract to supply his bar back in Megaton too. Oh and there is another contract to supply Tenpenny tower too, if you want it that is."
That's it. Let her think it's her choice. Let her make the call and then once she agrees, she'll pretty much damn herself.
"I only heard about it last night myself, or I would have told you sooner. You think you're up to it?"
Bob Dobbs
Grayditch Diner – Morning
“It’s not a lie…”, insisted James. “And you know what, Bob, if you want punch me do it right now…I won’t stop ya but you’ll regret it…or you can shut up and let me talk to Brandy.“
“Can the threats, James…it’s not helping.”, Bob said disdainfully. “I’m not the Boss of her, and I never tried to keep you away from her. Don’t take this out on me, you did this to yourself. She’s right over there, you can talk to her if you want…but for what it’s worth I don’t think she buys your story.”
James then put his Nuka-Cola on the counter and walked over to where Brandy was sitting with Atarah and Mirvin, then dropped to one knee.
“Brandy”, James pleaded, “I am truly sorry for what suffering caused you last night, I still don’t know why I did but I really wanted to get you all jet so badly because…”
"Yes, I'm waiting" Brandy said irritably as she folded her arms.
James paused for a moment, then continued.
“…Because I love you Brandy, ever since I saw you in the party I’ve loved you, hell I could list a bunch a things I love about you but if you don’t want to talk to me again…. I understand.”
Brandy was taken aback by this. For a moment, her features softened a bit as she considered what he said…but only for a moment.
Brandy furrowed her brow as she mused on what he had said. "Was it Calypso you said?", she said absentmindedly as she looked out the window to where the woman had been, then looked back at James, her green eyes blazing with fury. "Let's see, you poisoned me, then [censored] some prosttute. Is it because of the Jet too, James? Did you take a puff before you [censored] her, were you high when you tried to kill me?"
Bad move, after last night. Banging that Calypso broad while Brandy was puking her guts out doesn’t exactly inspire trust.
“What?”, James said in shock, as he slowly realized that Brandy had shut him out. “NO! I would never do that! And you know about my "condition"... ”
"You sure know how to make a girl feel special, let me tell ya", Brandy said sarcastically as she stood up and shook her head. She then hauled off and slapped James’ face hard then continued, her voice rising in anger. "I love you too honey, now why don't you, and your little hoker out there, go and show me how much you love me, and I'll go see if Joe will help me show how much I love you!”
She turned and began to walk towards the booth Joe was sitting in, but quickly turned back to issue her parting shot, "You didn't even talk to me at the party anyways, jerk!" She then resumed walking over to Joe’s booth.
Ouch. svcks to be him. I tried to warn him, he should have listened.
Utterly humiliated, James stood up and walked back to the counter, glaring at Bob as he walked by him.
“Don’t you say one word or I will [censored] shoot you”, James hissed at Bob.
“Try it”, Bob said calmly as he drummed his fingers on the butt of his Police Pistol. “My advice is…if you do, don’t miss.”
Ignoring Bob’s reply, James quickly finished his Nuka-Cola and stalked out of the Diner.
As Bob watched James walk down the street, he leaned towards Tap.
“I’m Bob...Bob Dobbs”, Bob said. “I came here to work as a plumber, you look like someone who would rather not have to haul water in here by the bucket.”
“At least you’re not blind”, Tap said laconically. “Let me guess, the sink and water heater behind the Diner are yours. Come by at closing time and we’ll talk about it...right now you’ve got a bigger problem.” She glanced at a spot behind Bob, when he turned to look he saw Brandy sitting down next to Joe. Tap then continued in a low voice. “Some free advice. Whatever plans you have involving Miss Mouthy, they won’t be happening if you don’t keep their hooks out of her.”
Tap then raised her voice and continued. “And if you get in a argument over [censored] size in my diner again, I’ll kick your ass out and you can schlep to Megaton for your meals until you learn some manners. Unlike your mouthy little friend, you know better than to pull that [censored].”
Sounds like a warning to me. I guess it’s past time to introduce myself to Moriarty’s man in town anyway.
“Yeah, whatever”, Bob said dismissively as he stood up straight and walked over to Joe’s booth. As he approached, he heard Joe speaking to her.
"I only heard about it last night myself, or I would have told you sooner.”, Joe said to Brandy. “You think you're up to it?"
Up to what? I need to find out more about this before she commits to anything.
“You Ok, Sweet Pea?”, Bob said to Brandy. “Don’t let James get you too upset, he’s not worth it.”
Bob then looked at Joe. “Did I interrupt? My apologies. Please allow me to introduce myself, I’m Bob Dobbs. I saw the flyer, and as I’m a plumber by trade, and have some knowledge of masonry too, I came to Grayditch.”
Bob then gestured at the bench opposite Joe and Brandy. “Mind if I have a seat?” Bob then quickly sat down before Joe could voice an objection. “Thanks, Mister Rennie.”
“Well, anyway”, Bob continued. “I talked to Celeste about moving into House 8, seeing how that Parker fellow that had been living there disappeared during the Raider attack. With her gone for the time being, I figured you were the man to see about work here in town. I’ve got some projects lined up with Brandy here, but I like to keep busy….and there is a lot that needs to be done here.”
“And…”, Bob said as he looked back at Brandy. ”If Joe has something for you, Sweet Pea, perhaps I could help you with it?”
Brandy - Diner - morning
Joe smiled wearily at the Brandy, then knocked back his shot of whisky. "That's quite all right. I haven't been having the best day myself." His smile grew a little warmer. "As it happens she did mention a little about it to me. In fact, it sounded like such a good idea that I mentioned it to my boss. He's the guy who set up this town. He has asked me to offer you a contract to supply his bar back in Megaton too. Oh and there is another contract to supply Tenpenny tower too, if you want it that is."
"Really?" Brandy's eyes widened, "are you serious? Wow, that's a lot of moonshine. I...I would make enough caps, that I wouldn't have to worry about anything."
"I only heard about it last night myself, or I would have told you sooner. You think you're up to it?" Asked Joe.
“You Ok, Sweet Pea?”, Bob said to Brandy. “Don’t let James get you too upset, he’s not worth it.”
"Yeah, Joe just asked if I wanted to make shine for the diner, a bar in Megaton, and Tenpenny Tower, can you believe it?" Brandy bounced in her seat with excitement, "its a lot of shine, I'm not sure if my distillery will be enough, but I've gathered enough parts for a second one, and that may not be enough. Would your boss help me build a bigger one?"
Bob looked at Joe. “Did I interrupt? My apologies. Please allow me to introduce myself, I’m Bob Dobbs. I saw the flyer, and as I’m a plumber by trade, and have some knowledge of masonry too, I came to Grayditch.”
"Yeah Joe, Bob told Celeste that he would install a sink for her, here in the diner." Brandy looked at Tap and frowned.
Bob then gestured at the bench opposite Joe and Brandy. “Mind if I have a seat?” Bob then quickly sat down before Joe could voice an objection. “Thanks, Mister Rennie.”
“Well, anyway”, Bob continued. “I talked to Celeste about moving into House 8, seeing how that Parker fellow that had been living there disappeared during the Raider attack. With her gone for the time being, I figured you were the man to see about work here in town. I’ve got some projects lined up with Brandy here, but I like to keep busy….and there is a lot that needs to be done here.”
"I do carpentry to" Brandy beamed proudly.
“And…”, Bob said as he looked back at Brandy. ”If Joe has something for you, Sweet Pea, perhaps I could help you with it?”
"We will need to start setting up my equipment later, when does your boss want me to start Joe? How much will I get paid? Celeste said I could be a shareholder of the diner, did she tell you that? Do they want different flavors? I'm going to need all the corn I can get, for my mash you know?" Brandy bombarded Joe with questions, "will I have to deliver it? Will someone be able to help me?"
Brandy playfully patted Joe's chest, then gave him a hug, "I can't wait, Bob, I'm going to run home and get ready to go to the SuperDuper Mart, ok?"
Brandy jumped up, gave Atarah a little waive, and left the diner. She glared at Calypso for a second, Calypso smirked back at her. Brandy went inside her house, as she walked through the living room, a paper on her coffee table caught her eye. She picked it up, it was a note from Frieda.
Brandy,
I hope you get yourself sorted out, and I hope your new friends are better to you than I was. I felt my heart being called elsewhere and it's just time for me to move on. Remember when I said I don't stay in a place for too long?
I'm traveling with Pawnee for now, but I don't think he'll want me to come with him all the way to where he's going. All you need to know is that we're both safe, and you should stay here in town with Mirvin, get yourself established.
Maybe we'll meet again. All the best to you.
FRIEDA.
P.S. Lock your door when you leave!
Brandy dropped onto the couch, full of sadness, and angry at herself, "no,no,no,no, she's leaving, and Pawnee too" she closed her hand, wrinkling the note as she clutched it to her chest. Tears started to run down her face again, her stomach tightened, we haven't been gone long, I could catch up with them, tell her about the moonshine...she would be happy to see I'm doing something positive.
She jumped up, rushing to the door, shoving it open so hard, it bounced back hitting her wounded shoulder.
"Owww" she groaned, running to Pawnee's house. She flew through his doorway, frantically looking around, running upstairs, nothing. There was no sign of them anywhere, they had gone, all that remained in the house were two dead Raiders. Brandy rushed back towards the diner, as she was about to pass Calypso, the woman stopped her, "Ahh, you must be Brandy, are you not?"
"Ya..yes, why? What do you want? I don't have time for this." Brandy started to take off, but Calypso stopped her again, this time by holding the sickle in front of her.
"Young Pawnee requested that I deliver a message" Calypso said seemingly, amused.
"What message? You talked to Pawnee?" Brandy's heart raced.
"Why yes dear, I did speak with the young man. He wished for me to tell you, that he and Frieda, were heading to Tenpenny Tower. Together" Calypso smiled, "and for you not to follow them, he did wish that you not worry. Tenpenny Tower would be a most pleasurable place to exchange vows, don't you think dear?"
Brandy's heart sunk, Pawnee did just up and leave after she made love to him, like it didn't even matter. She began to sob, "Noooo, I...I.."
Brandy ran back into the diner, Calypso laughed at the distraught young woman. Brandy looked at Bob, "we need to leave, I want to leave, now ok?"
James Wilson – the super duper mart – Late morning
After moving the broken protection and tiring up the female raider hands & legs (so she couldn’t get away), James had spent the good part of last hour or so dissembling three of stores shelves and pilling them up in a row next to end till, the protection and raider….
James then wandered around the store looking for anything else valuable before heading back to front of the store, sitting down on the shelve pile, he picked up a nuka- cola of floor and began drinking it.
Nothing ever beats a Nuka-cola….
“HELP” the pale female raider shouted, haven just awoken tried up but had yet to see James…
“ Don’t worry, I’m here” James replied as he took a slip on his Nuka…
“You… you’re the guy who killed Blaster-mad and pistol-whipped… but why… didn’t you kill me” the raider quietly said….
Hmm she seems scared, can’t blame her, I just walked in and shot her four “friends”
“ I Ran out of bullets” James chuckled as played with M1911 “now what’s your name? I’m James…” James asked
“My name… my name is Jade.” Jade quietly said…
“Good, now Jade can you tell me who sent blaster-mad that letter” James asked…
“ I don’t know Blaster never told us… but he did say he had a funny accent”
Funny accent….not many people around here with a funny accent and I'm one of them...
Suddenly the front door open, James drew his 44. And turned around to face the front door…
“Oh it’s you!, What are you doing here?” James said as he holstered his 44.
OOC: the person is either bob or brandy ( with the others behind them)
Jessica & Sue – there house/house 11 – morning ( the same time as James walks into the diner)
Leaving the Grayidtch arm James walked off to diner whlist Jessica(holding a crowbar) and sue slowy walked inside house 11, sue had her shotgun draw, just incase….
the house was a similar lay out of James house, main room, kitchen, upstairs and a basemant, ethere was a large table in middle of the room, with a decaying skeleton(with a police hat on) sitting in chair next to it.
(James said there was dress I would like upstairs, call if you need me ) sue said to jessica in sign language
“okay I’m going to try and open those boxes in the basemant” Jessica repiled
As Sue walked upstairs and began to try on blue Parkstoller dress, Jessica walked downstairs into the basment and looked at boxes…
Hmm I wonder whats inside them…
Walking over to one of crates, Jessica used the crowbar to open it, broke the lock, open the crate and then looked inside….. The crate was full of scrap metal….
"Why in hell would someone lock this up? could be useful though " Jessica said to herself
Jessica then opened the another crate, this time it was full of per-war food of different brand , another full of tools and the last one was full of wood…
This is someone post-war supplys , I wonder why they never used them…
Harold. Leggio's shop. Morning.
"Listen, hound," The old slaver adressed Harold. "You're Joe's assistant. Send on a message. Tell him that I realise he has other errands to run in this [censored] hole, but I need to be clearly told what the [censored] is going on here. He slips off before I can ever ask him. Do I search for buyers? How much do I have to give to Moriarty? I've managed to sort out food and water for the stock, but that costs caps. I'm not willing to piss away my money waiting for your master to reply, so tell him to make haste." Harold deliberately slowed his breathing, fighting back his rage at Leggio's suggestion that Rennie was his master. It was fortunate that he had recently dosed himself with buffout. It could have turned into Moira Brown all over again otherwise.
Jimmy paused, looking around the rundown building. "I'll be here in the meantime. Now.." he pointed towards the exit for a moment before turning his attention to the parcel on the counter before him. The giant was almost shaking with anger as he lumbered out of the shop. Ahead of him, stalking back and forth near to the security shack, was Calypso. The cannibal had impressed the brute in their fight and he was eager for a rematch. Not yet though, the burns to his back were fairly severe. He'd allow the wounds to heal before going against the flaming blade again.
The brute held up a hand to cut off any attempt at conversation. "Moriarty said you were here to assist Leggio. You should go make arrangements with him now, he's in his shop. Rennie will be along soon. He knows money, but he's out of his depth with the slaving. I'll deliver the rest of the clothing, you talk shop with Leggio and afterwards we can start looking for Harlan. I know where to start asking too."
Cole Anders
Grayditch Clinic - Morning
Cole sat in the dimly lit clinic, watching over the little girl as she rested. He heard footsteps nearby, turning his attention to the doorway as Ryler walked in. Careful not to wake the child, he approached Cole and took a seat next to him.
"Dr. North," He whispered, nodding in his direction.
"Mr. Anders," Ryler replied. The two men sat in silence for a few moments, unable to strike conversation.
"I've been wondering.. Is she your child?" Ryler questioned, giving Cole his full attention. "Father.. That'll work. Less explaining," Cole thought, turning to Ryler.
"Yes.. Yes, she is," Cole replied, toning his voice so that the young man would understand that he did not wish to continue on the topic.
"Its tough out in the wastes.. Your business is your business, I get it." Ryler said. "Why don't you get some rest, you've been watching her all night," As he spoke, Cole's stomach growled intensely, beckoning to be fed. "Or maybe some grub at the diner?" He chuckled.
"A meal does sound tempting.." He mumbled, rubbing his stomach. "Your sure she'll be fine?"
"Positive," He said. Cole nodded, he exited the room and grabbed his hat and glasses. The clinic echoed with his footsteps as he departed, walking out the door and into Grayditch. It was the first time he had actually taken in the town, and began looking over the surrounding buildings as he walked. Some of them repaired, others looted, a few inhabited.
A few minutes passed before the Diner came into a view. On his walk, he had passed a few.. Unusual individuals, none intent on giving him trouble, however, or even taking a moment to look his way. Still, his knife was at the ready, just in case. He entered the Diner as casually as possible, careful not to bring attention to himself. There seemed to be some sort of commotion going on, and Cole knew that getting involved would be a bad idea.
At the center of attention was a young women, no older then twenty, arguing with some man over six and puking.. Something along those lines. The women was visually stunning. Her dark, brown hair fell right above her shoulders, with beautifully tanned skin and piercing green eyes. Cole couldn't take his eyes off her. "Focus Cole.."
Much to Cole's disappointment, the girl departed before he could speak with her. He sighed and turned his attention to the women behind the counter, intent on getting something to eat.
She was quite a sight. Her head was shaved, which Cole found surprisingly arousing. Her face was also quite attractive, as was the rest of her body.
"Excuse me," He said, motioning for the young lady. She approached him, a disgusted look on her face.
"What do you want?" She asked in a rough, aggressive tone.
"Food, please. Don't care what," He replied.
"Here," She said, tossing him a bag of fancy lads. "Don't choke on it,"
"No need to be so hostile," Cole said.
"Really? There isn't? Even when some snot-nosed, high society brat walks into my Diner with his well polished suit, acting liking hes all that," She replied.
"I assure you, I'm just like everyone else," He responded, eying the women.
"So your gonna' act like a jack ass too, just because I look different?"
"Be rude to such a young, attractive mistress? I hadn't planned on it," He replied, flashing her a smile.
"Whatever," She resumed her work behind the counter, a slight change of expression coming across her face. Cole had gotten to her. "Befriending the bartender.. That could work to my advantage," Cole pondered as he munched on his snack. It wasn't very satisfying, but it was better then nothing. He didn't complain for better food at the risk of coming off as a whiny "high society brat".
"Might be a good idea to bring the girl some too.. Shes bound to be hungry," He asked the bartender for another bag, and she handed it to him with much less sass this time around. Unsure about the cost of his "meal", Cole simply left fifty caps and headed for the door.
As he attempted to depart, Cole was abruptly shoved aside by the same young lady he witnessed mere minutes ago. This time, however, tears seemed to be rolling down her cheeks, and she appeared quite upset.
"We need to leave, I want to leave, now ok?" She commanded, her eyes set on a gentlemen he had not yet become acquainted with yet. Curious, and willing to spare a few more moments, Cole leaned against the doorway and observed the situation as it played out.
Antony Park - Greyditch Clinic, Morning
Antony finished up his food and asked Tap, "Do you know where Ryler is?"
Tap responded with a couple directions and a description of where Ryler was living, which seemed to be a clinic. Although a clinic would be welcome, especially since Antony's house wasn't adequate for an influx of patients, many doctors were very...stingy. It would be interesting to see how Ryler acted.
After Antony walked around for about half an hour, burning off the food, he headed towards the clinic, following Tap's directions. Soon, he got to a building, which he assumed was the clinic.
He went inside and he saw Ryler. Surprisingly, the man seemed too young to be a physician, especially to the caliber of taking care of an entire fledgling community. But Antony ignored that and introduced himself.
"Hello, I'm the newcomer here. Antony Park, physician."
Ryler seemed a little surprised. "You're a doctor? What's your profession? Diseases, wounds, surgery?"
Antony thought for a little bit before giving an answer. "Diseases and wounds. Rather than using surgery, I use food and herbal medication to treat illnesses. In a perfect world, I would have the right equipment to have a 0% fatality rate for surgery. But that kind of technology went the way of the dodo bird."
Although herbal medicine was very potent, not a single Capital Wasteland doctor used herbal remedies. Probably because it was easier to simply inject a syringe of Med-X and saw off the infected region rather than use radscorpion poison to treat the infected region.
"In any case, I have A LOT of medical equipment at my place. So if you need a hand around the place, come find me."
With that, Antony left back to his home to do some studies.
Joe Rennie. Diner. Morning.
“Did I interrupt?" The newcomer with the scarred arm asked, looking down ta Joe. "My apologies. Please allow me to introduce myself, I’m Bob Dobbs. I saw the flyer, and as I’m a plumber by trade, and have some knowledge of masonry too, I came to Grayditch.” As Joe listened to this, his attention was drawn to a battered old protectron slowly waddling across the diner's floor.
"Yeah Joe, Bob told Celeste that he would install a sink for her, here in the diner." Brandy looked at Tap and frowned.
Bob then gestured at the bench opposite Joe and Brandy. “Mind if I have a seat?” Bob then quickly sat down before Joe could voice an objection. “Thanks, Mister Rennie.”
Oh no problem at all Mr Dobbs. I think I already have an angle on you. Looks like you have a soft spot for young Brandy here. Sweat Pea? Ha! Joe thought to himself as he smiled warmly at Bob. "My pleasure friend. It's good to see we are still getting new faces in town."
“Well, anyway”, Bob continued. “I talked to Celeste about moving into House 8, seeing how that Parker fellow that had been living there disappeared during the Raider attack. With her gone for the time being, I figured you were the man to see about work here in town. I’ve got some projects lined up with Brandy here, but I like to keep busy….and there is a lot that needs to be done here.”
"That there is friend." Joe nodded.
"I do carpentry to" Brandy beamed proudly.
“And…”, Bob said as he looked back at Brandy. ”If Joe has something for you, Sweet Pea, perhaps I could help you with it?”
Why not? It'll keep you sweet and out of my way. And it will give her some help with production. "Sound's marvelous. I'm sure that Brandy could do with a hand setting up her equipment."
"We will need to start setting up my equipment later, when does your boss want me to start Joe? How much will I get paid? Celeste said I could be a shareholder of the diner, did she tell you that? Do they want different flavors? I'm going to need all the corn I can get, for my mash you know?" Brandy bombarded Joe with questions, "will I have to deliver it? Will someone be able to help me?"
Well that was easy. She's practically falling over herself to accept. But shareholder? I don't think that Colin will go for that. "Wow." Joe laughed at Brandy's enthusiastic torrent of questions. "Well I'll answer what I can for you. I'd say that the sooner you could start production the better. As for the corn, I haven't seen Drifter around for a while, so I'd say it's fair for you to claim any corn plants in his patch for yourself. As for the rest..." Joe paused and shrugged. "I'm just the head of security. I'll let him know you are keen and pass along your other questions. How does that sound?"
Brandy playfully patted Joe's chest, then gave him a hug, "I can't wait, Bob, I'm going to run home and get ready to go to the SuperDuper Mart, ok?"
Brandy jumped up, gave Atarah a little waive, and left the diner. The protectron that had not long arrived beside the young woman stomped in a small half circle and slowly waddled along behind her.
Joe turned his attention back to the man sitting opposite him. "So, Bob wasn't it? Sorry I didn't welcome you to town sooner friend. I was a little... Er... Tied up during the raider attack." He gave a weak smile. "Sorry, bad joke." He glanced out of the window again and watched as Brandy dashed into her front door as the robot plodded along behind. "Ok Bob, I have missed a couple of days," He pointed at the protectron, "what is the deal with that thing?"
