Welcome to Greyditch!

Post » Mon Mar 14, 2011 1:31 pm

4bucks -- I hope to compose a starting post during the day today, we are good to start! Edit: please note that too much off-topic pvssyr will result in our OOC thread (and everyone else's from other RPs) being closed. There is a whole section of the forums called "community discussion" for talking about everything else that isn't on topic :)

Elvis -- your CS is fine, you DO fit in ;) How your character chooses to interact is 100% up to you.

General note: this thread will be kept open for OOC and new character applications.

This isn't necessary but helpful to some if there is a map of the RP area with all in RP locations. I've played Fallout 3 and I've been to Greyditch; but if we have a map to highlight exact building locations with respect to each other it would help tremendously with immersion and we'll all have a better understanding of what's going on.

I make maps myself for RP's but since it's Skirt and Kettle's (can I call you Kettle?) idea, I think one of you should make it..

Yeah mate, calling me Kettle is fine.

This is a really good idea & makes me wish I could draw. If anyone else wants to attempt to sketch Greyditch from above then I will happilly work out who lives where. If not, you'll have to all make do with my childish scrawl. (I'm 27, but drawing has just never been one of talents.)

Alright, this is the CS for Katie

Name: Katherine "Katie" Marx

Age: 28

six: Female

Basic physical appearance and attributes: About 5' 7'', lean and looks like any normal young woman in the wastes, has an athletic build. Katie has somewhat long, black hair that goes down to her shoulders, usually kept on by a pink headband but also bunched up in a ponytail during assassination missions. Light brown eyes and has a couple scars on her body from previous missions.

Weapons
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/b/b4/Winchestermodel70.jpg w/ Scope, silencer, and three magazines taped to the stock of the gun for easy reload.
Colt .45 Pistol w/ silencer
Combat Knife
Armour
Regular mercenary leather armour with a magazine belt slung around the armour. The armour has been specifically designed for maximum safety by incorporating very thin amounts of Kevlar sown into the leather. Due to that, the leather is made very thin to provide flexibility to compensate for the Kevlar.

Personality: Very friendly and nice to her friends and comrades. Katie's an outgoing and hyper person, prone to being over excited or being a bit impulsive, causing many problems for the assassins. But when she's on missions, her mind is on the safety of her squad and getting the job done. Highly intelligent in guns and explosives, making her the support unit of the team.

Occupation: Ex-Gunsmith, Assassin.

Faction: Greyditch, Nick's Faction.

Backstory: Katie was born in a pretty boring row of shacks on the north end of the Capital Wasteland, around the Pitt but far enough away so she won't be affected by the severe amounts of radiation. There, she worked underneath her father, a kind and gentle man who supplied the small village with guns and ammunition, teaching his daughter the trade. Obviously, being around guns so much, she learned how to handle them at a very young age, about 11 years old. After a couple years of peace and monotonous day to day activities, raiders attacked the village. Katie and her father ran from the raiders but her mother was shot and killed during the raider attack.

They moved to Megaton, specifically, the Common House. By that time, Katie was 16 years old and ready to start the trade. She worked for Moira Brown for a couple years, supplying her with guns and ammo to sell. When she turned 18, Katie heard of an assassin who started to spread around the area around Megaton. Although her father taught her compassion and empathy, not much of that sank into her.

Katie sought out the assassin and after finding him(Nick), she tried to apply for a squad. But after Nick saw her hyperactive attitude, he rejected the offer. Needing money, she started to stray towards stealing and looting. When her father heard of what Katie was doing, he committed suicide, not able to take the news.

When she turned 26, after years of looting and stealing, she heard of another assassin band lead by Nick. Katie tried to join again but this time, Nick accepted seeing how weak and tired she was. After giving her a small house in Megaton, Katie started to work as an assassin. Now that she has regained a semi-normal life, her hyperactive and excited attitude returned, causing countless problems during contracts. Nonetheless, Nick keeps her around as a friend.

Katie has a pretty open crush on Nick, something the other assassins tease her about jokingly.

Looks good 'Zerker. Quick question though, by Nick's faction do you mean the people who are coming in with Nick? Because there are only two factions in the town, "Moriarty" and "Greyditch".

You can say that the people who come with him are loyal to him, and will take whatever side Nick does. But he isn't going to be creating his own gang within town.

Zerker: I'd also like it if you could point out a couple specific flaws, personality or physically. Thanks :D

By Nick's faction, it means Nick's band of assassins. They aren't very powerful on their own right but are excellent assassins so no, it's not a separate faction with a gang and everything. They listen to Nick but aren't part of any gang.

And Katie's main flaw is probably being too hyperactive, costing contracts or blowing their cover.

Yes. It probably isn't necessary but everybody else seems to be at it.

If you think they need sheets then go for it mate.

If they are going to have an impact on the town, then they'll definately need one. If they are going to be more bacground characters, only really interacting with Jimmy himself, then they don't need to be as detailed.

The first post is up! Once I locate the mouse I know I have around the house...somewhere...I will get a rough map together. Until then, as I assume no one will be "going to bed" yet, I think you guys will be okay with just fudging the surroundings for now.

Oh man :P Since no one bothered to remark on the paint-covered busty woman in the diner I guess I'll just have to choose who she talks to, first...hehe ;) EDIT: I suppose that is Assassin's character, since he actually walked in and said something. After that I think it will be...Ergy's char and then Surfer's, unless you guys get side-tracked. I have no idea how close Zerker's characters are to the diner :P

Also, Assassin, I had to laugh...your guy is like "this place is a dump!" and then litters. Well geez...why would it be a dump, then? hahahaha.

I've got a rough map completed, mostly, I just need to get it uploaded somewhere. In the meantime, I think you guys are doing okay without it.

Edit 2: or y'all can do whatever and I'll roll with it. I shouldn't post anything before I've had at least 2 cups of coffee...

The tag is called "spoiler" and you just use the square brackets instead of round, in this example:

(spoiler) Copy and paste the CS text here! (/spoiler)

When you use the square brackets, it turns out like this:

Spoiler
Copy and paste the CS text here!

You could check posts, type them in Word, then paste them when your computer works, perhaps?

@ everyone -- I realize I expanded my CS's with descriptions of what the ladies are wearing. Everyone else seemed to do so and since I'm not really adding anything like new skills or badass armour, I figured it was okay. Also, I'm a GM, so nyah.

@ 4bucks:
Drifter turned around to look at another newcomer, this time a young woman, barely into advlthood.

Was he referring to Frieda? She's in her late 20's, though thanks to the amnesia, she doesn't know when her birthday even is. I would love it if people thought I was barely into advlthood  ...

I find it funny how Drifter is referred to as "Middle-Aged" looking somewhere in the 50's, and Jesse is classed as "old" despite being 42. :P

woah, what's with all the "Looks dodgy" comments about Joe guys? He IS dodgy, no doubt about that. But he looks like a regular guy. People are at ease around him, seeing a friendly and approachable guy, that's what makes him such a good thief.

Edit: also Paladin, I think we've got our wires crossed somewhere mate. Joe is pointing his pistol at 'Zerker's character inside the bar, it is Jesse the regulator who is aiming at the sniper on the roof.
