Yeah, I've beaten them before and it's always a tough fight, but this time... a long while after the battle I went to the Diner to sell some stuff to Trudy, and I was ambushed by two of the Forged just a short way from the diner. I never had any of them follow me before, and it's a bit worrisome. I was wondering if this is normal, or something peculiar to this playthrough? I've never had it happen before, has it happened to you?

Probably just a random encounter.

I'm going to guess maybe you missed a couple guys on the roof and they followed you? the Forged is a pretty small group and only hang out at the factory. I have encountered them at the Slog but that is because they followed a group of caravaners... didn't work out so well for the forged when they encountered my high tech security system at The Slog heh

in fact I usually practice my sniping from my office at The Slog on the Forged guys.

But Trudy is a long way from there...

Diner is a random location spot. I've fought Forged, Raiders, mutants, and feral dogs there. Seems to happen every three in-game weeks.

I've always had the same raiders after the guy trying to sell the drugs is dealt with.......nobody deals on my patch.

As mentioned above, the Drumlin Diner area is prone to random encounters.

That aside though, I've encountered the Forged in a few random areas across the map. It's not common, but definitely not unheard of.

I don't know. Actually, I killed most of them twice. I went there from the Finch Farm, and killed all the forged outside that I could find. I then went inside, and killed all the forged except those in the final room (boss fight). I was feeling a little vulnerable, I had no healing capability left, and I was almost out of ammo, so I went home to the Red Rocket to resupply and grab my power armor.

I got sidetracked, and it was maybe a week or two in-game before I got back there. I then had to kill the whole exterior crowd again, and all the forged inside up to the final room again. After that battle, I exited by the roof still in power armor, and clomped all over the upper levels of the place overburdoned before jumping off the roof after there was no sign of loot or enemies.

If there were forged survivors, they were certainly very shy...

love that the slog is close enough to the forged base to build rocket turrets and just farm them for gear to put on settlers.

If any enemies remain alive, they do try to track one, had raiders follow my travel by Vertibird to Red Rocket, where the machine guns promptly snuffed them, once they arrived.

I have an issue with the forged, they tend to hit a mercant who visit the ghoul farm or is in the same area, cause them to start to fight the farmers.

I put up an firebase at the edge of the farm with two missile turrets to see if this helps killing them off before they interfere with the farm.
