Well Played, Bethesda..

Post » Sun Mar 17, 2013 9:36 am

So I just started playing Dragonborn after finally coming back to Skyrim, and I was really disappointed about one part of the DLC.. spears. In the trailers showcasing Reiklings, I was really happy to finally see spears being added into the game. And then I picked them up and thought "Really? Thick arrows?". I feel like they were just teasing us.. So, here is my question: why didn't you just include real spears? The Skyrim community has already seen that spears can definitely work, through both mods and the Game Jam, so why not include them? However, even though I'm a bit mad, I have to give props to Bethesda for the level of trolling. We asked for spears and got 'em. Just not the way we wanted them to be...
/discuss; Do you think they'll be included in future DLC? Or a patch? Or never?

Wrong section.

Anyway, some people think this business of legendary skills and the certain reward you get at the end of Dragonborn will set the stage for spears as a new skill. I am not so sure, but it is possible. Especially now.

Because they use different animations, different mechanics. Who knows, maybe they'll be implemented in the next DLC with a new skill tree.

I like that they trolled us but the spears are really bad. you have to aim quite high above the target.

That made it even funnier. I couldn't even use them as arrows, lol. I did want spears, but man that was funny. I was gonna go Spartan on some foes Nordic style with a spear, Ysgramor's Shield, Ancient Nordic armor, and Yngols helm, but alas, it was not to be so.

After the burning delusions of the riding dragons and the spears, I'd be very very cautious about future "promises" by mommy Bethy.

I use the reikling spears for looks, I don't even fire any. Just have them equipped while running about with sword and shield or 2hnn sword :D

Personally, I think dragonriding is awesome.
