I went to Skyrim early! (sorta)

Post » Tue Oct 26, 2010 8:19 am

I utilized a glitch (not a mod, as I'm on the PS3) to view the texture map of Oblivion. Doing so allowed me to walk everywhere uninhibited by walls (also sorta). Below is proof...

This is one looking at Bruma on top of the Jerall Mountains, far beyond the "point of you shall not pass"...

Proof...

Valley in Skyrim...

Of course it's all just textured and if you walk far enough, you'll fall longer than if you jumped from Dive Rock itself, and die...

Anyone else done this?

I jumped along the houses in Bruma until I got onto one of the chimneys and from there onto the 'catwalk' of the City Wall. Jumped out of the city from there. Texture mode through the entire land...

Interesting screen shots, Jovian. They further fire up the imagination for something that's nearly impossible to wait for now. Funny comment about better graphics too, Brunette...lol. I've never gone that far north and I haven't dived off Dive Rock yet but I'll have to try that. Thanks for sharing those. :)

I fell for quite awhile. I wasn't sure if I was actually going to stop or not. I have 570 HP, so I fell for at LEAST 4 to 5 full seconds. I'd say it was probably around 7 or 8 full seconds.

I'm sure all of us PC players have messed around with 'TCL' at one point or another. The land you see past Oblivion's map has nothing to do with Skyrim as it's just filler space, as I'm sure you know, but it's always fun to glitch out of the towns. ^_^

It's even more "fun" on the PC to use tcl and go to the top of White Gold Tower, then use tcl again.

It's a loooooooooooong way down.

:bonk:

PS. I'm a girl too.

I think your sarcasm is dripping all over this nice clean floor. Here's a cloth so you can clean it up.

And here's a http://images.wikia.com/tesfanon/images/c/c4/Fishystick.jpg for after you're done. :)

Yup, I made a suit that pumped up my speed to 150, my athletics to like 150, and my acrobatics to about 180 and I straight jumped over the Imperial City's wall, went to Morrowind and saved. Pretty silly.

Wow so THAT'S what happened! I had a character just 3 weeks ago who got stuck with this glitch. PS3/vanilla here.

Beujok the Grey Wizard was walking towards Aleswell and encountered an Oblivion Gate. He was walking towards it when all the sudden he starts walking into the air. If the ground fell, he would walk even higher into the air. At first I thought this was kinda cool, sort of like a spontaneous levitation or something. But after awhile I was getting annoyed.

Tried walking into the gate to see if this would fix the glitch, but it continued. He wound up walking way way up near the top of an Oblivion tower when I gave up and went back to a former save. Thankfully, I haven't seen this glitch happen again.
